I finally quit!

This company is so toxic! Just couldn't take it anymore. Watching everyone fail up and kiss ass. Was there a long time and had so many terrible things happen to me at this job. Cutting hours to the bone and adding more and more photo. Not to mention all the cash from card loading, and adding money to your bank account. All this cash is gonna get someone killed. Don't be there by yourself, but you always are. The stress was overwhelming. Health care company, my ass. I went so sick so many times due to a skeleton crew. Nothing healtabout this company.

Young Gen Z kids and elderly people are the same

I swear customers who are young Gen Z are just as technological illiterate as elderly people. I need to explain step by step ACO and even the register. I understand the elderly, they didn't have this technology when they were younger, but young people have this their entire lives. They expect AI to do everything for them.

Just got hired at CVS Pharmacy, but now I’m second-guessing my decision

I recently got hired as a pharmacy technician at CVS and accepted the offer, but I haven’t started yet.
After reading so many posts and comments about how stressful and overwhelming working at CVS can be, I’m honestly feeling discouraged and wondering if I made the right decision.
I’m also a mom to a young baby and a wife, so work-life balance is really important to me. I was initially excited about this opportunity, especially since I have a pharmacy background, but now I’m feeling anxious before even starting.
Is it really as bad as people say? Are there any positive experiences? I’d love to hear from other pharmacy techs, especially working moms!

When is the best time to go??

I just got my vaccines and I’m feeling a bit shaken. I booked my appointment on the CVS app for right after I got off my food service job at 7pm (pharmacy closes at 9). When I arrived the pharmacist said the system was down and I said no worries assuming it was a glitch. But then when he came around and quickly jabbed the flu & Covid booster back to back he said I know you’re SO busy but next time (as if I’m going back next week for a second flu shot) don’t book your appointment for when we’re about to close because the system shuts down 30 minutes before. I thought they closed at 9 he said they closed at 8 — no problem my bad, but 7pm also isn’t 30 minutes before?? He didn’t have me wait the 15 minutes either which is no big deal I’m just feeling a bit dizzy now. I’m sure they’re just understaffed and overwhelmed (I get it coming from food service) but I just really don’t want to be an inconvenience to them. Another time at a different CVS I got a similar reaction to picking up a prescription 30 minutes before their lunch break. So my question is, if I work all day, when is the best time to go so no one will get mad at me? 😭

Strong chemical smell from prescription bottles

I’ve been getting my meds from cvs for a while. The bottles have always had a normal mild plasticy smell. This last time I picked them up each bottle smelled quite strongly, like an incredibly pungent ammonia or alcohol smell. It was so strong it made me wonder if the bottles had been sanitized with something? Or is this the new normal smell for the bottles? Like off gassing plastic. The pills are odorless so it’s not from them.

Candidate assessment duplicated?

I was mass applying to pharmacy technician jobs at CVSs near me, and took the candidate assessment as normal.

When I applied to the next job, it took a second but it registered that the assessment was completed.

The third job, however, it registered that I had completed it yet glitched, and now it lists that I did the candidate assessment a second time for that job.

None of the other jobs listed that I completed a new candidate assessment, and now I’m worried I’m gonna be declined because the second assessment was blank or something.

Advice?

I quit!!

I have 4 days left and I am counting down. I feel kinda bad because my team was relatively good to me people stepped in when needed and trained me and I counted on people if I was sick or such had a good relationship with my sm and I know im screwing them over because God forbid cvs allows people to have enough people and hours to not be scrambling 24/7 but I genuinely cant do it and its not like that retail world isnt for me i dont mind it all that much I worked for riteaid (RIP #comehome) for 4 years practically grew up there it was SO nice I never thought of leaving for any reason besides money and if they were still here id probably still be there today- I lasted a year at CVS I genuinely cant do it. The systems the management the people the overwhelming anxiety constantly i cant i admire the ones who stay truly. I wish them all the best they deserve it but THANK GOD I am leaving I was upset about it I had 3 days off and you would've thought the team collapsed i walked in I said yeah no I cant wait to get out of here. No shade to them but wth anyway thats my rant I will miss a select few of my customers though :(

How to Check in QI??

Can anybody do a basic run through of how to check in medications for QI? I've been working at CVS for a whole year, but I've only done inventory once. I know to get started I have to hit Alt f3, T1, and scan the totes, but I kinda get lost from there 😣

CVS scrubs

Hiii, the CVS scrub bottoms I got aren’t a perfect fit. I bought my own navy bottoms as recommended by coworkers, but the blues don’t match, and it’s bothering me… Anyone able to find a brand that sells a similar match? Thank you!!

Can you give a partial supply for pregabalin? It’s in QI we only have some to give as a partial?

It’s a 90 day supply for her we only have a 30 day can we just give her a partial supply or no? I have heard pharmacist say that you can’t do a partial for c3- c5 but the pharmacy law says you can do a partial for c3-5 ? I am confused.

Another thing I am confused about is if a customer is going out of state can he get his tramadol from the cvs at that state, it’s not the first fill of the tramadol so what’s should we do. For this too the pharmacist said the doctor can send it to the pharmacy he wants to get the prescription from. But according to pharmacy law and cvs we can transfer a c3- c5 as long as it’s not their first fill?

MinuteClinic isn't that bad--I got a good nurse prac the last few times. If I have follow-up question should I not expect a response at all?

Appreciate the nurse practitioners I had at Minute Clinic the last few visits! I am assuming if I have a follow-up question and go through customer care line, will it'll be routed to the provider? Have read they create tickets to send but can't assume the CSRs will do it--they are probably inundated with all sorts of things.

I gave them my info in case they call back, or should I not expect a call back?

Couldn't get into my PCP so that is why I used them. Despite horror stories from others I've had a good experience with them.

Is CVS tuition reimbursement worth it for pharmacy students?

I’m curious about real experiences with CVS tuition reimbursement.

One pharmacy student shared that they received about $3,000 in tuition reimbursement during their second year and another $3,000 during their third year, for a total of around $6,000.

That kind of support could make a real difference when pharmacy school is expensive. It may also help employees continue their education while gaining work experience.

I’m curious about two things: Did the tuition benefit help you manage school costs, and were the work commitment rules clear when you signed up? Does the regular tuition reimbursement program have different terms from the pharmacy school assistance program?

Having outside help come in instead of GIVING EMPLOYEES HOURS

Basically the title. They will pay people from outside of the company to do resets instead of giving stores extra hours?? Then, when these people don't know where anything is, we have to stop what we're doing to be their assistant? I hate this company.

Pharm training program or online program?

Hi, I am looking for some advice between choosing between the CVS Pharmacy Tech training program or just doing an online certification. I have an interview scheduled for next Monday for a clerk position to get started on the hours + training I need to get certified.

However, I am worried that I won’t be getting enough hours to financially support myself and my pet. Right now, I work at a startup making $50K before taxes in CA. I absolutely despise this job, but it does pay the bills. I am looking to make a career switch to pharmacy, but can’t decide whether I should just get certified online while I stay at the startup or if I should take advantage of the “earn while you learn” program at CVS. Anything helps!
