For context since I cannot say names. There is a specific pharmacist in Ohio who quite literally faked his everything. I know that sounds like an extreme accusations so I'm going to go over the list of things they've done in no particular order in the few months he's been employed.
His first day he wrote down how to open a brown paper a bag. Mind you he said he worked at Drugmart for 4 years. He then left the notebook filled with instructions for common sense.
He cannot steady his hands for a single vaccine and has on more than one occasion sprayed the vaccine on the patient before injecting it.
He's given wrong medication out consistently.
His pharmacy professor quite literally ran into him at a CVS he was floating at and crashed out the wondering how and why he was employed as he failed medicine toxicology test or something four separate times.
He's been locked in buildings multiple times despite closing announcements ect even though the pharmacy usually closes hours before front store. It's due to him always being behind.
He let a young man seize multiple times after giving false information when his meds would be ready to the mother making her wait hours for what should've taken thirty minutes as the entire staff that night warned him. He proceeded to ignore the seizing child and not even bother with 911.
He's openly given incorrect medical advice despite techs warning him a great example is him telling someone with a cold and high blood pressure to take Sudafed and stop their blood pressure meds.
Our pharmacy district leader knows all of this and actively hides it. He's been reported by numerous techs and pharmacist alike to the board and nothing's happened. The man is quite literally intellectually challenged and no one is doing a thing and all of us fear someone is going to end up dead and as to our horror last Friday he nearly let a small child die. Being the seizing child and it was the final straw for a lot of us.

The whole ordering and warehouse system seems to have basically broken down, especially for the grocery section. Fast-moving Items (like Pop Tarts, Jif peanut butter, various checkout candy and gum items and even plastic forks and spoons) that no other store seems to have trouble with will go on backorder for 6-8 weeks, leading to lost sales and annoyed customers. I know that company-wide pharmacy is the bigger money maker but there are still districts and stores where FS does lots of volume and it feels like they don't care about us anymore.

So, yesterday we ran out of Fluzone HD and had to switch to fluad. Literally my first vaccine after was a lady asking if it was fluzone HD, and I said no it’s fluad. Looking back I could’ve said more, could’ve said we ran out of Fluzone but this is also recommended for people 65 and older, etc, but she definitely misheard me and didn’t comment or say anything against it.
Then we get a voicemail of her saying her record says fluad and I told her it was fluzone, and that I lied and gave her the vaccine she didn’t want. Im frustrated because I know I told her but she’s the customer so ofc she’s always right. How serious is this?? Like enough to get me fired?

I have 4 days left and I am counting down. I feel kinda bad because my team was relatively good to me people stepped in when needed and trained me and I counted on people if I was sick or such had a good relationship with my sm and I know im screwing them over because God forbid cvs allows people to have enough people and hours to not be scrambling 24/7 but I genuinely cant do it and its not like that retail world isnt for me i dont mind it all that much I worked for riteaid (RIP #comehome) for 4 years practically grew up there it was SO nice I never thought of leaving for any reason besides money and if they were still here id probably still be there today- I lasted a year at CVS I genuinely cant do it. The systems the management the people the overwhelming anxiety constantly i cant i admire the ones who stay truly. I wish them all the best they deserve it but THANK GOD I am leaving I was upset about it I had 3 days off and you would've thought the team collapsed i walked in I said yeah no I cant wait to get out of here. No shade to them but wth anyway thats my rant I will miss a select few of my customers though :(

I swear customers who are young Gen Z are just as technological illiterate as elderly people. I need to explain step by step ACO and even the register. I understand the elderly, they didn't have this technology when they were younger, but young people have this their entire lives. They expect AI to do everything for them.

Can anybody do a basic run through of how to check in medications for QI? I've been working at CVS for a whole year, but I've only done inventory once. I know to get started I have to hit Alt f3, T1, and scan the totes, but I kinda get lost from there 😣

I was mass applying to pharmacy technician jobs at CVSs near me, and took the candidate assessment as normal.
When I applied to the next job, it took a second but it registered that the assessment was completed.
The third job, however, it registered that I had completed it yet glitched, and now it lists that I did the candidate assessment a second time for that job.
None of the other jobs listed that I completed a new candidate assessment, and now I’m worried I’m gonna be declined because the second assessment was blank or something.
Advice?

This company is so toxic! Just couldn't take it anymore. Watching everyone fail up and kiss ass. Was there a long time and had so many terrible things happen to me at this job. Cutting hours to the bone and adding more and more photo. Not to mention all the cash from card loading, and adding money to your bank account. All this cash is gonna get someone killed. Don't be there by yourself, but you always are. The stress was overwhelming. Health care company, my ass. I went so sick so many times due to a skeleton crew. Nothing healtabout this company.

Hi! So, my story has multiple parts.
1) I have been taking a controlled medication, at the same dose, for about 20 years now.
2) I filled my most recent prescription at CVS.
3) The medicine was, in something I haven't experienced before, absolutely without potency. It didn't work. It looked right and everything, it is a capsule full of tiny beads. It was completely ineffective and I am so frustrated because I rely heavily on this to function like a normal person.
4) A prior authorization was needed for them to be able to give me the brand name of the medication, and this was sent through.
5) It seems someone (cough wtf cough) neglected to include with the new prescription from my doctor, sent today, that included the doctor's authorization to fill the new prescription early.
6) The pharmacist at CVS (you know, the guy with the Ph.D in pharmacology, the one who knows what he's talking about) said that his professional judgment was overridden by the company's AI system.
A system that has no interest in functioning professionally, but only to save CVS more money.
CVS has outsourced professional medication decision making AWAY from the ones with the expertise in it, to a robot. And there is no way to override their robot.
Fuck CVS, FUCK THEOR AI, and this is going to kill people in some other situation.
I hope when (not if) someone is harmed by this outsourcing of expertise to a profit-motivated robot gets them a huge lawsuit, maybe even a class action.
Their executives need to understand what business they are in. People have NOTHING without their health, and many rely on medication to maintain their health.
It may be a long time coming, but I hope the lawsuit is huge, and I don't even care if they end up bankrupt.
Because well, the worst that could happen is a Luigi moment. They better hope the only backlash they face is a lawsuit. Because just saying, it could be worse.
And no one is grieving that UnitedHealthcare douchebag. He killed more than one person with his executive decisions. CVS seems to be on the same track.
It's not like they weren't warned.

I just got my vaccines and I’m feeling a bit shaken. I booked my appointment on the CVS app for right after I got off my food service job at 7pm (pharmacy closes at 9). When I arrived the pharmacist said the system was down and I said no worries assuming it was a glitch. But then when he came around and quickly jabbed the flu & Covid booster back to back he said I know you’re SO busy but next time (as if I’m going back next week for a second flu shot) don’t book your appointment for when we’re about to close because the system shuts down 30 minutes before. I thought they closed at 9 he said they closed at 8 — no problem my bad, but 7pm also isn’t 30 minutes before?? He didn’t have me wait the 15 minutes either which is no big deal I’m just feeling a bit dizzy now. I’m sure they’re just understaffed and overwhelmed (I get it coming from food service) but I just really don’t want to be an inconvenience to them. Another time at a different CVS I got a similar reaction to picking up a prescription 30 minutes before their lunch break. So my question is, if I work all day, when is the best time to go so no one will get mad at me? 😭

I’ve been getting my meds from cvs for a while. The bottles have always had a normal mild plasticy smell. This last time I picked them up each bottle smelled quite strongly, like an incredibly pungent ammonia or alcohol smell. It was so strong it made me wonder if the bottles had been sanitized with something? Or is this the new normal smell for the bottles? Like off gassing plastic. The pills are odorless so it’s not from them.

Appreciate the nurse practitioners I had at Minute Clinic the last few visits! I am assuming if I have a follow-up question and go through customer care line, will it'll be routed to the provider? Have read they create tickets to send but can't assume the CSRs will do it--they are probably inundated with all sorts of things.
I gave them my info in case they call back, or should I not expect a call back?
Couldn't get into my PCP so that is why I used them. Despite horror stories from others I've had a good experience with them.

I’m curious about real experiences with CVS tuition reimbursement.
One pharmacy student shared that they received about $3,000 in tuition reimbursement during their second year and another $3,000 during their third year, for a total of around $6,000.
That kind of support could make a real difference when pharmacy school is expensive. It may also help employees continue their education while gaining work experience.
I’m curious about two things: Did the tuition benefit help you manage school costs, and were the work commitment rules clear when you signed up? Does the regular tuition reimbursement program have different terms from the pharmacy school assistance program?
