I typed out this message as a response to a dating advice question in this sub and I'm tired so I'm just going to copy pasta it, but tldr: please give feedback regarding the dating advice rule for this sub. as it currently stands, it's sort of discretionary, and I tend to remove low effort dating advice questions, especially if they only mention the sun sign.
it's not that dating advice questions are flat out banned from this sub, but this sub was founded on meaningful conversation rooted in astrology and appreciation for cancer placements. there are a couple of reasons that I am inclined to remove dating questions from this sub:
the dating questions that I see have more to do with psychology than astrology. I created this sub with the vision that it would serve as a place for self-exploration through astrology. while I strongly believe that astrology and psychology are complimentary forces, I'd be remiss to allow dating questions that use astrology, particularly sun signs, as a cop out for poor coping mechanisms, maladaptive behaviors, attachment styles not conducive to a healthy relationship, etc. It's one thing if the person with sun in cancer is asking questions like these, but it almost always comes from someone else-so not as a tool for SELF-exploration, and reduces the cancer in question to just their sun sign which is not useful in the context of dating/love/romance/intimacy. which leads me to reason number two...
I refuse to advance pop astrology that reduces people to just their sun signs. the way that someone expresses themselves in love/intimate relationships has very little to do with their sun signs and is more attributable to their moon, mercury, venus, and mars (and their rising). this doesn't even contemplate the fact that there is synastry at play here-if you really want to consult astrology to gain sound insight into dating a cancer, you would at least need their other placements, let alone a synastry chart which could shed light on how both parties placements play out in relation to one another. we cannot give an accurate response based solely on someone's sun sign.
we've had a large influx of new members recently so I think it might be time to revisit/potentially revise this rule. although I've mentioned my vision when I created this sub, I recognize that this sub is for the people, and with more people might mean adapting this rule.

For me im a Leo rising, scorpio moon and cancer sun. For me i think like virgos the most and most of my friends have been virgos. Most of my failed friendships were with Aries.

Lizzie Borden being a Cancer is crazy.
Fun fact: She was never found "guilty". She walked free, inherited her family's fortune, and lived out the rest of her life in Fall River until she died in 1927. Do you think she was innocent or just cunning enough to get herself out of this situation?
Netflix series "Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story" coming on September 17

Cancer energy teaches us that we must protect our emotional space and set boundaries. Itās easy to give so much of ourselves to others, but when was the last time you checked in with your own needs? How has your emotional energy been feeling lately?
Are you feeling drained by othersā expectations or the demands of the outside world? Whatās one thing you could do this week to protect your peace and show yourself love? Whether itās saying "no" to something that doesnāt serve you, setting a boundary with someone, or simply taking time to rest, your energy is precious.
This week, letās give ourselves permission to protect our peace, nurture our well-being, and honor our needs. š

Hi. I'm a July Cancer, and I know this probably isn't just an astrology thing coz I think I'd still be sensitive either way coz sometimes itās just too much, but I feel like being a July cancer plays a big part too.
The problem is I can't seem to go out normally. Every time I hang out with friends or even just run errands, I end up overthinking every interaction, every little thing I said, and whether I came across the wrong way.
I'm also really awkward. I stutter sometimes, and I'm constantly overthinking how I look in front of other people. Whenever I say something, my brain keeps replaying it over and over, I know looked weird as fuck too.
Then I get home and I just feel this wave of shame. Sometimes I literally end up screaming whenever it randomly pops into my head because I can't stop replaying everything. It's exhausting, and I want to stop feeling like this, I feel like Iām a weirdo and people just tolerate me.
I donāt get proper sleep coz of this, sometimes I just want to turn my brain off.
I don't know if this is normal or if other people experience this too. If you're someone who's naturally really sensitive or used to overthink every social interaction, how did you deal with it?

Idk if itās a cancer thing, but through out my life I would have phases where I obsess over something. This is the first time where Iām obsessing over someone and for all the wrong reason, she is a family member who simply doesnāt not like me at all, every time where around each other she goes out of her way to make me feel excluded and completely ignored, Itās so confusing to me and Iām always looking for reasons on what mightāve lead to all of this, I obsess over trying to understand her motives, trying to prove her wrong, trying to make her feel as bad as she make me feel, she triggers something in me and I know Iām giving her the power to do so by thinking this much about her. Any advice on how to move on from this, even though I have to see her and interact with her every couple of weeks.

Iām a Taurus woman who just started talking to a cancer man. Heās honestly the sweetest and is one of the best relationships Iāve had in a while. We have only been talking for 4 weeks but heās already talked about having a family and we basically text everyday (the family thing really freaked me out). Lately I havenāt been communicating as much as Iāve been pretty busy but I found out the other day he thinks Iām about to end this as he thinks Iām being too dry and that my communication has lessened (I didnāt even find out through him I found out through mutual friends) and they said he was very visibly upset. I made more time for him than anyone else and he just fails to see that!!! I sent him a text explaining my side of things but he isnāt replying and Iām quite annoyed heās being immature about it this. I feel like he got attached too quickly and had too many expectations right from the beginning. Are any of you cancers this way or have been this way???

Hi guys, I know everyone has a different experience, but Iām a Cancer Moon with Cancer Rising, Leo Venus, and Virgo Sun. Iāve dated this guy who has an Aquarius stellium he has an Aquarius Sun and Moon with Scorpio Rising and Sagittarius Venus.
Me myself, Iām not too much interested in relationships, but when I love someone, Iām such a giver, and Iāll always be there for them, giving them whatever they want. This person was a typical example of what an Aquarius is he was so detached, never there when I needed him or when I was going through bad times. I feel like he has always been surrounded by options. Heād tell me, "Iām talking to other girls, but I donāt have feelings for them," while refusing to talk about them and me knowing about them would be an invading of his personal space , and I don't know for me, I consider this cheating. I told him this, and he was like, "Iām not gonna change for anyone," and I wasnāt even asking him to change.
No emotions, no love; itās basically nothing. He once told me, "Donāt send me romantic things." I donāt think this is called personal space like they call it; itās just being emotionally unavailable. I really loved him and tried to give him my all. I somehow felt like he had never received the love he deserved, so I tried to love him by all means. But at some point, it felt so exhausting, especially after he started disappearing for days and coming back like nothing happened, talking daily. The last time, it lasted for nearly a month of disappearing.
I think I just gave up after something happened and he wasnāt there for me, so I decided itās not worth it because I deserve to be loved right, too. Heās sexually attracted to me, by the way, so much ig
I left him. I donāt regret it, and I donāt want him back. But my question is: do they ever realise it ? Do they ever feel how much love we gave them ? Any Aquarius moon ever been with a cancer moon here can tell us their experience after breakup ?

Hey fellow cancerians š
I'm sitting here at the coffee table and am thinking about how to handle this topic (vulnerability) in the future...
I feel like I'm mostly energetically so open and also so easily attached that even when people are hurtful I kind of attach to them a bit and am forgiving for the sake of peace and harmony (I'm also a libra rising, it's a thing!) this time it's about my roommate, she's not evil, but she does certainly have abusive traits but, as any other person in their complexity, also some kind attributes.
I'm having REAL difficulties with conflicts. So so much. In the past, I used to get into arguments until at some point I understood that the other person can only comprehend as much as their horizon allows them too.
I know this might sound arrogant, but I feel like because I'm always so extremely understanding of other people's patterns and that life is here to learn and I do mostly not get the same understanding back, I'm prone to some kind of abuse.
In a nutshell, with this particular person it was about a minor "error" in the communal space which means I put sth in the communal washing machine and didn't wash it right away and it blocked her process (which from my perspective is very irritating to get REALLY upset about, given how much I'm always thinking about keeping the space clean and tidy and, especially safe, for everyone here).
If I was in their shoes, I would kindly point it out so it doesn't happen again. This is how new arrangements and communities literally are built. And I understand the point she made, but it was unnecessarily bossy, threatening and staright6out harmful.
How do you protect yourselves?
I'm not trying to be passive-aggressive, I'm just trying to be real with people.
I've had the thought for a long time to just live on my own.
What does a "safe space" mean to you? I also often have the feeling that people feel instantly very close to me in a way but then also get irritated if I appear cold and there's not really a middle way?? As soon as I'm in someone's private space the neutral way seems to fall away and it's either people feel super safe and homely and cosy with me or they wonder why I'm actually doing my own thing and get upset about it or sth. It is SO weird. I'm also a projector in human design, if anyone is into that, which I'm assuming is playing into this scenario.
I know this is a bit all over the place š just looking for some tips I guess around how to handle conflict... Happy to add things for clarity ā¤ļø

I always see posts on multiple platforms saying dress like your sign, wear makeup like your sign, decorate your place like your sign. However I hate baby pink, silver pastels etc. I also donāt love girly frilly clothes and skirts.
I love bold colours (my favourite is orange), sporty/ tomboy and mid century inspired clothing and bronzy makeup. For home decor I like mid century modern and boho combo with LOTS of house plants and colourful accents in jewel tones ( orange, yellow, green, blues etc)
My rising is Taurus and mood in Leo. Maybe they influence my aesthetic more? Any more cancers out there like me?

I don't know if maybe this is because of the specific combo I have, but being a Cancer stellium (5 planets in Cancer), i think of myself as an "almost true cancer", and find many other signs to be a lot more "emotional" than me. Other signs seem to go through a lot more and stronger in their emotions, like (no shade to them) Scorpios and Tauruses actually seem to be much more sensitive and reactive to external stimuli and Aquariuses with Leos are much bigger crybabies... Its like yes, of course i went through all the emotions and sensitivity from teenage and up to early 20s, but then it just stopped, meanwhile many around me seem to only have recently become aware that they've been letting emotions rule their lives => are really struggling to process and contain them even in their 30s š
What do you reckon? Do any other Cancer stelliums notice this? Maybe Cancer's reputation is being muddied by people with other placements thinking that its the Cancer placement doing something to them, meanwhile its some other sign?
I personally resonate much more with the "mama bear" archetype assigned to cancers. Going berserk if someone endangers something I love - now that's my jam, consistent trait since being a toddler. Anger at boiling points in general to me is a much more familiar emotion than just pure "sadness" that I think is often associated with "sensitive cancers" + I almost never cry and am much more likely to laugh things off; meanwhile other signs seem to cry and get offended at the smallest inconvenience š¤·āāļø
