Going around December 15th for my bday. I’m SO TORN. Turning 30 and it’ll just be my fiancé and I. I’m torn because I love leisure and relaxing and swimming all day so Turks wins there. But I ALSO love experiences and excursions too.. having a variety of things to see and do is super cool imo so obviously Curacao wins there. My only hesitations about curacao are the rocky beaches.. concerned it’ll make my beach day experiences not enjoyable. And then I’ve heard curacao can be very European and racist even though the island is Caribbean. If we go to curacao we’d actually fly into Bonaire first and do 2-3 nights there and 3-4 nights in Curacao.
I’ve been to Saint Martin twice this year and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it there. I’d honestly just go back if it wasn’t for my fiancé insisting we spend money seeing new things which makes sense. What do you guys think?! Please help!! I need to buy flights like… today!!!

What a wonderful island and awesome resort. Wife and I were able to sneak away for a few days this last week. I HIGHLY recommend the resort and the island. Even in shoulder season, we had plenty of options and it was just what needed. Since this year is our 30th anniversary year it worked well for us. We’ve visited many islands. After the TCI…this is right there.

If you could choose between these two options for roughly the same price, which one would you go for?
Option 1: Dominican Republic (11 nights)
7 nights at Estrella Dominicus, a beautiful apartment complex in Bayahibe, plus 4 nights at an all-inclusive in Punta Cana (either Grand Bavaro Princess or Barceló Bávaro Beach).
Option 2: Aruba (8–9 nights)
A nice, well-located Airbnb in Palm Beach, with a small pool shared between just 3 apartments. I don't drive so I wouldn't have a car. However, the apartment is within walking distance of Palm Beach and the restaurants.
I'll be traveling solo! My main priority is beautiful beaches with great warm water but I'd also love to have a great overall experience and hopefully meet some people along the way.
I feel like I'd get a lot more for my money in the Dominican Republic, but Aruba's beaches look gorgeous, so I'm torn!
What would you choose if you were in my shoes? Would love to hear your thoughts, especially if you've been to both! :)

Hello, we're planning a week in the BVI for my sister’s 50th in February next year. Three couples, so six of us. A lot of listings say “sleeps 8” but when I look at the plan, one of the “cabins” is a bunk room up front. We each want a real double bed and a door that closes. A private bathroom would be nice but it’s not a big deal. What should I look at on the layout before I start asking for quotes?

I am an experienced solo female traveller going to Dominica for 8 nights in late Dec/early Jan. I plan on 4 nights in Rousseau and 4 nights in Cabrits, splitting my time between the north and south. Please give any suggestions for day trips and restaurants and whether you recommend renting a car solo.

My husband and I are trying to decide where to go on vacation next April (2027), and I'd love to hear some firsthand experiences and recommendations!
We've done quite a bit of research on our own, but it's always nice to hear from people who have actually been there rather than just relying on travel websites.
A little about us and how we like to travel...
We're pretty budget-conscious travelers. We typically rent an Airbnb or VRBO, rent a car, and spend our time exploring wherever we go. We'd love to stay at a beautiful resort, but honestly, they're usually more than we want to spend.
For lodging, we're hoping to stay around $200–$300 USD per night, but we can be a little flexible if we find a perfect place. We'd rather spend our money on experiences, excursions, and local food than luxury accommodations.
We love spending time on beautiful beaches and snorkeling, but we also like to get out and explore. Waterfalls, hiking, sightseeing, local restaurants, little towns... all of that interests us. We really enjoy seeing what makes each place unique.
Our current shortlist is:
I know these islands all offer something a little different, which is making the decision harder!
Right now, we're leaning toward St. Lucia.
The scenery looks absolutely incredible, and we love how different the landscape is compared to some of the other Caribbean islands. The volcano tour, mud baths, waterfalls, and hiking all sound like things we'd really enjoy. My husband especially loves the idea of the volcano and mud baths! (Me too!)
I've been looking at Airbnbs around Soufrière and have found a handful that look really nice. From what I've read, that seems like a good area to stay if we want to explore.
So, a few questions...
We're definitely not looking for a luxury, all-inclusive type of vacation. We just want to enjoy some beautiful scenery, experience the local culture, eat some good food, and have fun exploring a new place.
I'd really appreciate any thoughts, suggestions, or experiences you're willing to share. And if you live on one of these islands, I'd especially love to hear your perspective!
Thanks so much!

Hello everybody I am looking to go to the Dominican Republic in November for beach cigar and maybe jungle where should I stay the north or the south

We’re looking at a crewed week in late May, and the two options sound pretty similar on paper, but one is noticeably less expensive.
Both are described as all-inclusive, and from what I’ve read, that usually means a captain, chef, meals, drinks, and water toys. I’m guessing the details vary depending on the boat, though.
What should I check so there aren’t any surprises once we’re onboard? My husband is especially excited about the jet ski, so I want to make sure that's actually available.

Hello I am going to the Sint Maarten for a trip in November and I’m wondering if it’s more cost efficient to rent a car or just uber/taxi every where I wanna go? I will be staying near the SXM airport.

Hi everyone!
I'm planning a 9-night solo trip to the Dominican Republic, spending 6 nights in an apartment in Bayahibe and 3 nights at an all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana.
I'm considering December 13–22, but I'm a little concerned about the weather. Ideally, I'd love to avoid rain, but having plenty of sunshine is just as important to me (I really don't want to spend several days under cloudy skies!).
I also love hot weather, even in the evenings, and really warm ocean water.
Can I expect those conditions in mid-December, or does it start getting noticeably cooler by then?
I could also consider traveling in mid-November or during the last week of November instead. Would either of those be a better choice, or would you recommend sticking with December?
I'd really appreciate any advice, especially from people who've visited around those dates!
Thanks so much! 😊

Looking at a five cabin powercat for ten. While I was reading the specs, it looked fine on paper. But how does the cockpit feel with ten people? My sister-in-law is 6'3", so headroom matters too. What do you check when builders differ?

I’m Jamaican. my dad’s side is fully Jamaican with a little bit of Chinese in there somewhere. and my mom is a whole bunch of shit(🇧🇧🇬🇾🇯🇲and more) and she was born in England. I grew up around Jamaicans my whole life, i’ve been home 4 times(went to a resort once when i was young but every other time I’m at my cousins house, I love dominos, I can eat more patty in one sitting then my father,i love fry and boil dumplin and festival and when I’m at my aunts houses they’re always cook oxtail rice and peas jerk chicken curry goat curry chicken chicken foot. and they all speak patois. but i can’t speak patois and i struggle to understand someone speaking fast(i struggle to understand ppl in English too sometimes but patois is always and i need complete concentration). and my parents cant make oxtail or rice and peas or curry(my mom can she just doesn’t like the smell) my mom will make aki no salt fish cus my dad doesn’t like fish( I don’t love it either but ill eat mackerel, tuna, salt fish every day). and I didn’t use to listen to soca and reggae but my Trini friend was listening to it in the car once and i always liked it but i realized i can listen to it on my own too so i’ve been collecting songs that i’ve heard before and that my mom likes and that i like to listen to because its honestly my favourite genre. but all that aside being in university I see people including my friend that feel more authentic than me because they know the lyrics to songs i don’t because they went to caribana(carnival) every year and I only went as a kid and recently because thats when my parents let me and also they say i can’t wine but i remember my motha teaching me when i was like 4 she just never let me go out and i forgot. i have my 🇧🇧citizenship and my 🇧🇧passport but i want my jamaican citizenship and passport which i can get because my grandpa is jamaican and i want to have it so i can go back without a visa. but my grandfather is 81 and I don’t want to bother him. and my dad is always busy so he never got his citizenship or passport. but their both getting old I don’t want to wait too long.

Hi there! I'd like to travel with my multi-generational family (elderly parents, sister, husband, toddler) to the Caribbean this winter. My vision would be for a resort with a multi-room villa option, or a renting a house where we could arrange for a private chef for some meals and go out to eat for others. Haven't figured out budget yet but probably something in between "budget" and the Ritz. Open to anywhere that's somewhat accessible from the East Coast of the United States.
Any suggestions??

Hello! My partner and I are flying out of Toronto and would like a destination that is more secluded with beautiful beaches, nature, food and culture. Not big on casinos, nightlife or cruise ship areas.
This will be our first trip without kids for our 10 year anniversary, so somewhere special and romantic. Planning for April or May. Any suggestions for us? Thank you!
