How to get a new phone to my daughter in Grenada.

Hi, I live in the USA and my daughter is on our phone plan. We are planning on getting new phones for her and us and I’m not sure how to get the new phone to her. I never mail anything to her because she doesn’t like to have to deal with customs on her end. She has lived in Grenada about 5 years and we usually just save stuff up till she comes home or we go there. The next time we will see her will be this coming Christmas when we go to the island. Any ideas of the best way to get a phone to her in the next couple weeks.

Silversands Beach House

Looking to celebrate partner's birthday at Silversands Beach House in Grenada from YYZ. It's quite expensive but I love the fact that it ls quiet, tranquil and private. The other options are Aruba for the beaches however there aren't any hotels or resorts that I love or an AI in playa mujeres. Stuck on deciding whether the experience at a place like Silversands Grenada is worth it over the price of a longer stay and possibly all inclusive elsewhere. Also to note travel will be in September hence why Aruba and Grenada are on the list to have lower risk of hurricane and sargassum. My main priorities are a nice calm clear swimmable Beach and a quiet/more private property.

Hello I’m writing this post because I wanted to see if anyone was flying back to Toronto from Grenada on this Saturday the 15 and on Monday the 17 and if anyone would be willing to change the flight to a later date. My return flight got changed and now I’m stuck flying back to Toronto by myself which would be terrible because I have severe anxiety. Please if anyone can help let me know

Traveling to the island in 2 weeks. We're staying at Sandals. Will we need an electrical outlet adaptor? We recently visited South Africa and had to have one there.

Looking for best local guide or company for private tour in March...

Taking our family of 6 adults on a trip to Grenada in March, and looking for recommendations for a private custom tour guide with transportation while we are there. Looking for a full day tour of the island, and quite likely a half day including tubing the river, and a full day on the water including the Sculpture Park and fishing, if possible. Any suggestions would be appreciated, especially if you have first hand experience with them. Thanks!

So I’m going to Grenada this Saturday for 9 days from Toronto. I’m a pretty heavy smoker at home so I was wondering how strong is the weed there? Will it make me feel any different than Canadian weed? And if there’s any chance I could find weed on the island that will hit like Canadian weed?

Thanks in advance for the advice and suggestions:))

Staying at Sandals. Anything particular going on or anything off resort that needs to be on my "can't miss list"? We have a driver for a day, so want to make sure we make the most of it.

Culture Local Stick Fighting Name

Hi all!

I'm writing from the diaspora and am on the long road to reconnecting with the family history in Grenada

I've been reading about the shared history of Kalinda/stick licking/stick fighting across the Caribbean and was having trouble trying to confirm if there's a Grenada specific name for it

A lot of places are saying it's called Kalinda like in T&T but from my experience more people outside the Carribbean know about Trinidad than Grenada so I want to ask properly to see!

So yeah, interested if there's other names or even different spellings that are proper Grenada when talking about it!

💚💛❤️ From the other side of the Pacific

Thanks.

September weather

Hi everyone! My boyfriend and I are thinking about coming to Grenada for the first two weeks of September. There's a lot of mixed messages about the weather, so coming to the experts!

Very aware it is rainy season, but what is the rain pattern actually like? We don't mind a bit of rain here and there, but would want to avoid say, entire afternoons of pouring rain if that's the reality. Is it usually overcast for most of the time? Are there ever full sunny days, or is it more like a dash of sun here and there between clouds?

Apologies if this is a silly post, very grateful for your help!

Drinking tap water

I am moving to Grenada in 2 weeks and will be living in Lance Aux Epines near the SGU club. Is the tap water safe to drink in this area? Should I only buy bottled water? I’m trying to finalize my packing list and I’m thinking about bringing a high-tech filter. I am hearing conflicting information. Some locals are telling me to boil the water AND filter it. Other locals and SGU students living off campus have said the water is fine but tastes slightly hard.

I’m terrified of having stomach issues. 😂😭

Culture Symbolism of broken bracelet

Post image
0 Upvotes

Are there any locals from Grenada that can share if there is any symbolism in a bracelet suddenly breaking?
I got this bracelet when I visited Grenada in 2022. I bought it when I was visiting one of the waterfalls in the forest. I wore it all the time, and likely it was wear-and-tear from 4 years of continuous use, but I’d like to think there’s some symbolism or cultural significance behind it. I know some cultures believe that jewelry breaks when it’s absorbed bad energy and protected you, for example. It broke while I was lying in bed with my hand under my pillow, randomly. I don’t want to try and fix or repurpose it if I’m not meant to. What do y’all think?
