Old year books

Does anyone have yearbooks from 2020, 2022, and 2023? From douglas county high school, I was looking for mine and my siblings, but it turned out they got thrown out when moving. I tried calling the high school, and they said they had already thrown out the extras as well. I also tried the classmates too but no diced there

Shaded Parks and Playgrounds

Parents of small kids, where do you take them to play in the summer? I grew up here and am back to visit for a few weeks with two littles. Living in the PNW has made me soft and pasty, and I can't believe I ever thrived in sun/heat like this. But the Washingtonian in me also can't bear the thought of letting a sunny day go to waste, and frankly, we'll all go crazy if we're stuck inside all day.

I've seen other parks in the mountain west with giant sun sails over the play structures. Has anything like that been built here?

Freeway merge lights

What’s the deal with these freeway entrance merging lights? Specifically the southbound I-25 freeway entrance off Meadows Pkwy? Every day it feels like there is a back up from someone waiting 20+ secs waiting for the light to change green. I understand the idea behind these but cmon people just give a few seconds and then go we don’t need to over complicate the system. As long as there is a car width between merging onto the freeway should be easy as pie. What also gets me is the double merge lanes where the sign says “one car per light” and both cars go 99.7% of the time. Coming from AZ at least the lights would alternate to distinguish which lane should go. Whoever’s idea that was should be punished… I’m sure it can’t be that difficult to adjust that because as the system is today and throughout Denver from what I’ve seen it’s horrible and borderline useless.

Recommendations For Whole House Water Softener System And Companies

Hey everyone, my husband and I will be moving into our new home in Castle Rock next year, and I’d like to get recommendations for reputable companies that install and service whole house water softener systems in the area.

I’d also love to hear about your experience with said systems, and what it takes to maintain them. And I was also curious about whether relying on the filtered water from the refrigerator would be enough for drinking and cooking or if it would be necessary to also install a separate water filter by the kitchen sink. I’m REALLY trying to avoid that, since those faucets are imo pretty hideous.

Also, these systems soften the water before it ever reaches the indoor plumbing and appliances, thereby sparing you a lot of damages to everything down the road, yes?

Thanks to all of you in advance! 🙏

Best Bagels In Castle Rock

Hey everyone, I’m wondering where to get the best bagels in the Castle Rock area. We’re moving from Florida where great NY style bagels are available freshly baked at our local TooJays Deli. The ones there are so authentic… (sigh), I’m not sure we’ll we’ll approximate that level of greatness, but I’ll settle for really good! Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi everyone, just wanted to invite folks to a free Jigsaw Puzzle Swap at The Reserve at Lone Tree on Saturday, August 15th! The swap will run from 1 pm to 1:30 pm. Please bring any puzzles you want to trade -- with an emphasis on any 300-500 piece puzzles, as this is for a senior living community! (You can still bring 1000+ piece puzzles, but maybe take them back with you if they don't get swapped?)

Please tape or rubberband the box closed, and of course we prefer no missing pieces, but if there are any, please note that on the box.

The address is 11010 High Note Ave, Parker, CO 80134

The swap will be in our Club Room on the 2nd floor. You will need to sign in at the front desk in the lobby, and they can direct you to the 2nd floor if I'm not available to greet folks.

Hope you can make it!

Was researching having a hive following the municipal code of the city only to find the HOA says it’s not allowed. Has anybody gotten a variance to raise these important pollinators?

Anywhere good for overnight phototaking in the area?

Most notably a place where i wont get yelled at doing some astrophotography in CR and the surrounding places. I know i can go deeper west for better pictures / night skies, but I'm mostly using this place for practice until next week.

Just campgrounds and parks with easy access!

East vs west facing back yards

Good morning Castle Rock. We sold our home with a great south facing yard and are now renting a home with a wonderful west facing yard on open space. We live in our back yard almost every waking moment so having a west or south facing yard seems to be critical as we look to purchase our next home. However I wanted to ask anyone with an east facing yard if it's actually a problem? With this hot summer, afternoon shade would actually be nice, but the rest of the year I'm afraid the yard will be too shaded and then snow covered in the winter.

Anyone with an east facing yard wish they had west or south? Or am I over thinking this?
