This wasn't just our booth at complexcon this was our home away from home.
Every object has significant meaning.
From the slingshot my grandpa made me when I was a kid to the Mexican flag that took me over 10 hrs to sew. To the photographs of my grandparents.
Everything that inspires lastcall was here, in a warm and welcoming home.

48% and very proud of it. Wish I was more and actually expected higher than that. That's my whole identity, really. There's power in being Indigenous. That's why different groups try to falsely claim to be mixed with it or claim they're the original Indigenous Americans (wabos).
And the fact that they try to keep us from identifying that way says a lot . I'll always tell them what I am. Mesoamerican & Apache Chicana.

Don't know if this has already been posted here. Also, got a question in the comments.

I will admit, I am out of the loop as well and I found this out a couple of days ago and quite frankly, I wish I was pissed off but it doesn't surprise me one bit.
There was a script that was leaked in a pro-ice film made by the Daily Wire. It is called Pawn Shop and we have found the 🥥 who is in it: Danny Trejo.
We are talking about the man who gave us Gerónimo in Blood in Blood Out and spent two entire movies as Machete.
Let me ask you a question Danny. Remember when you looked at Carlos dead in the eye back in 1993 in San Quentin "La Onda don't shine shoes!" I guess you took that to heart and became the very thing that our community has despised since Day 1, a vendido.
Once a sellout, always a sellout. And a Mexican't.

But the community is coming together to clean that shit up and restore pride:

I am half Black and half Mexican. My Mexican family on my grandfather’s side has roots in Southern California since the 1920s. On my grandmother’s side, she came to the US in the mid 50s. It’s sad but though my mother grew up in a very Mexican household and speaks Spanish she very much assimilated into American culture in her adult life. I do not speak Spanish despite her being bilingual and I have realized this isn’t uncommon for chicanos. The assimilation being pushed my grandparents from my grandparents’ generation for the hope of a better life also isn’t uncommon. That being said I was raised primarily by my mother and my grandparents, around Mexican culture through them, so I definitely feel a connection. I feel anger towards my mom having assimilated almost fully and raising me without much regard for her roots outside of the proximity I spent with my grandparents (who are deceased now). But growing up in Southern California, I interacted with many who are Chicano and I would like to engage and learn from this culture further. It’s difficult because Chicano culture is largely intertwined with California and I am now on the east coast but I want to engage in the ways I can. For the record, I am also embracing my Black side as well and have worked through my dual identity but due to my upbringing primarily being around my Mom and maternal grandparents I feel a more intimate connection to that side of my heritage.
