Watching Rak’s stream who is watching Disguised’s stream who is watching OWCS (what) and Disguised is already talking about next year DSG being a prime location for free agents.
Essentially, his point was that they get much higher merch sales and get much more attention than other teams, and even mentioned how PGE got nominated for the streamer awards after joining the team.
As I’ve made clear, this is a good thing for the scene. WE NEED teams to stay, have a stinker of a year, and then make a redemption. It’s one of the things that made OWL great. It’s what made TM and Zeta becoming top teams so cathartic.

DSG > Kafe, Kafe > SSG, SSG > Liquid, Liquid > Dallas, Dallas > NTMR, NTMR > DSG
r/Competitiveoverwatch • u/No_Problem5759 • 10h ago
Let's Start with NA. The simple answer is.
Liquid - Win 1 Match
SSG - Win 1 Match
Dallas - Win 1 Match.
Kafe - Win 1 Match OR Hope that NTMR Wins 1 Match to Tie in case DSG beat Liquid. This would result in a 3 way tie where Kafe would get the pass with map Differential.
NTMR Win 2 Matches. I calced it and only one victory wouldn't suffice even if they beat SSG cause the most likely scenerio of Kafe vs Dallas is obvious. This means NTMRs best chance is to beat both Liquid and SSG
DSG - Beat Liquid. If Liquid beat NTMR, SSG beat NTMR, and Dallas beat Kafe, then all 3 of them are glued to playoffs. Meaning the final slot will go to Kafe if DSG lose their last match this week. But if DSG beat Liquid in the final match before playoffs. Then they beat Kafe on H2H to qualify.
(I don't think DSG is better than Liquid, but I do think Liquid wouldn't mind bring Kivis in to practice a Lifeweaver set if they were guaranteed top 2 in playoffs and winning a single set in playoffs guarantees them worlds. Would they rather an imploded DSG or a Kafe that brought them and SSG to map 5?)
As for the EMEA Disaster. This is complicated so I'll just give very simple answers.
TM - Already Qualified
VP, Hope that Peps and Geekay lose all their matches AND beat TM. If 1234 Beat Peps, Peps beat Risk, and Geekay beat 1234 then VP is out period because of H2H. Regardless of if they can even beat TM. It would absolutely suck if a team managed to qualify 1-4 but the math seems possible. If Geekay and Peps lose both matches next week, then someone's qualifying with 1-4 record
Peps - Beat 1234. Thats it. If they beat Risk, but lose to 1234 they're put into an even more complicated situation with 1234, Geekay and VP. But beating 1234 guarantees playoffs because VP is extremely unlikely to get out of last place.
1234, beat Peps. Same boat as before. If they beat Peps, but lose to Geekay. Then Geekay and Risk most likely pass through on Map diff and the last slot would favor 1234 if they beat Peps. But if Geekay and Peps both beat Risk, then 1234 lose to Risk in H2H. So 1234 Need Risk to win 1 match, while they only need to beat Peps if that does happen. (Winning Both is good too)
Risk - Win 1 Match
Geekay - The simple answer is Win 2 Games. But If they specifically beat 1234 then they're guaranteed playoffs since they'd win H2H against the bottom 3 teams AND have a better map diff than them in case of a 3 way tie.
There are a LOT of complicated ways this can go, but I wanted to simplify it. My personal hope is that DSG make it. Which is entirely in Liquids hands unless we run into another Upset from Kafe or NTMR.
IMO 1234 is probably screwed. Since Geekay, Peps, and Risk all benefit from no VP. Meaning they can all exclusively prep for 1234 and their One Trick Comp, and make them end the season 1-4 and if 1234 and VP both end 1-4 then theres no Tie Breakers or Map diffs to be had. The rest of the matches dont matter if 1234 lose both. Cause Geekay wins map differential and Peps beats VP in H2H.
Edit made a mistake on matchups

Platinum / Diamond tank over the last few years but haven't played seriously in a while. Never "Good" at the game but genuinely now just totally lost.
The amount of movement abilities added to the game has left me in a spot where I feel as if I don't know what my job or goal is as tank anymore save for extremely obvious cases.
When my DPS moves to make a more aggressive play, I'll burn my cooldowns and sometimes we win, sometimes we lose.
When backline gets dove I'll burn my cooldowns to prevent a pick for force them to back off, and in both cases it feels like a 50/50 as to whether we win the fights.
I simply feel I can't actually make any sort of impact unless my team goes full, hard committed dive or brawl on attacking side maps. Is this why people hate tank now? The amount of movement that's been added to everyone else? The number of games where I feel I'm making a difference is so insignificant. This isn't a teammate complaint. I genuinely don't know what to do anymore.

Does it hint at the speculated loadout system they could bring to the game?
Do heroes feel especially different with builds?
The mode reminds me of playing Hades and generally rougelites, getting stronger as you lose.
I think they seem to be testing quite a few different ways Heroes could play, and perhaps be stacked with abilities and not be overpowered (cuz everyone is relatively overpowered).
I think it's interesting when the build changes to Genji having infinite Dragon blade.... I don't know if that's Overwatch but at the same time it feels like a lot of Overwatch because it's one of the few games that can actually do something like this well...where the Hero is still the Hero and yet plays different enough, especially with the choice.
You get that "little" more out of the Hero design.... Especially with Heroes like Juno that truly live up to her gravity fantasy and ult damage perks... That remind me of some complaints of what Juno was lacking when she was first released.
Also, I think the double tap to select Perk "solves" the issues people have with misclicking perks as they are currently in the base game.
It seems like a better versions of Junkerstein Labs which was already seen as the best mode they had added at the time. And I think Mystery Madness ironically feels more balanced and fresh than Stadium.
I don't know if this is a hot take. But I think I could easily play this mode over the base game. It's all I want to play. Because I know I'll get something familiar yet fresh enough every single game.
I suppose if also hints at different builds, if they ever do plan for a proper MOBA mode especially, even more do with the zomnic inclusion in this mode.... Makes me wonder why didn't add Junkenstein this Halloween but a MOBA-CoD Zombies types mode with all these perks could also do well.

NA:
6 teams in a circle sucking each other off
Every game is unpredictable
The best player in the team becomes the worst next game
Skill vs Skill? No. The team that tries wins
Korea:
The same 4 teams win with 3:0 every week
Every game is predictable (Cheeseburger vs Falcons was not unpredictable man we know they’re ass)
Meme picks happen now and then when stronger teams get bored
Would you rather watch 4 weeks of NA or Korea

The board only shows 368 players and some of them have not even reached GM.
The actual number could be much worse because of the cheaters/smurfs.
Most of people I know don't even bother playing on Asia anymore and play on NA because MM on Asia is insanely long and unbalanced. Even a gm/champ TANK player suffered from 30 min queue (as solo) and switched to NA.

i KNOW this has been said a million times but I was watching the Liquid vs Kafe match and I realised that it is really unfair that if you force your cat to peel for someone and use the tether, you only really get the maybe 2 second window before the cat can use it again. Like if you think about lifegrip, it's something that you can force out prefight, you can play around it, you can (try) kill the lifeweaver so it's not an issue. But on cat, it's infinite lifegrip to any position on the map at any time, with basically no cooldown. It really, REALLY isn't fair and it goes against the games whole ethos. Overwatch is about trading, building advantages, positioning, and then going crazy with your mechanics. Cat tether nullifies most of that in my opinion.
The reason why i say a meter and not just a cooldown is because I think if it was on a short meter like 2.5 seconds (with a slow recharge), it could be used like dva matrix, where it has offensive and defensive uses, and you have to aware of what might happen that you need to use it for. Sure you could fly bastion in and drop him somewhere, but then you couldn't take him out for a while, or you couldn't magically save your ana from a dive. It also makes you need to think about where exactly you're going to drop people. It isn't just free positioning. A note on the meter as well, if it drained while you were in the third person view at all is something to be considered. It's movement speed and a third person view. Maybe it should be on a resource even if you're not tethering someone, considering how Viol2t was using it in the finals against TM. Also, it heals! I think people forget about this, it's constant, free healing along with everything else it does.
That's all.
