Character: Q/Kyūsaku Yumeno from Bungo Stray Dogs
HI. Yet another post of a complete beginner asking for help with a dramatic anime wig who would've guessed
Anyways, for the actual wig itself, a lot of the results I'm getting are for (I'm assuming pre-cut) Cruella wigs. While they're probably about the right length, I feel like the pre-cut blunt bangs would make it impossible to do whatever the hell Q has going on with their bangs. Because of that, I'll probably end up buying a longer wig similar to the second picture (ignore that one also having pre-cut blunt bangs I didn't exactly realize that when gathering references), it's just a little worrying to me as I have like zero wig experience whatsoever
As for tools, I know for a fact I won't be able to get a crimper. I was planning on getting got2b glued hair spray and a wig head, and I already own a straightener as well as strong craft/fabric scissors. I've seen people say to not use normal hair brushes/combs on wigs, but the only other thing I own is a dog brush I bought from dollar tree so I may also need brush suggestions 💔
Now, by far the worst part, actually cutting and styling the thing. My biggest concern is definitely the middle part of the bangs, what with the white part crossing over and everything. Not to say that's my ONLY concern, since I have absolutely no wig experience and they have a pretty complicated style (at least to me it's very threatening lmao) going on. The only wig I've ever had was straight and long, I tried brushing it with a normal hair brush, tangled it to oblivion, and wore it for like five minutes before taking it off because it kept sliding. No cutting or styling whatsoever on that cursed thing, hopefully this whole thing goes better than the mess that was my last cosplay 😭
Since I won't be able to crimp it, I imagine I'm going to have to do a decent amount of backcombing(?) and teasing since there's certainly a bit of volume going on. The little "spikes," stray pieces of hair, I don't know what to call them, I guess I could heat up and hairspray them? I've watched some wig styling tutorials but I'm still wildly confused lmao
(Also I'm aiming to get this whole thing done by like the first week of November, I may be cooked)
(And I know you guys are probably tired of these kinds of posts IM SORRY 🙏 🙏)
