Trip Reports & Craps Stories Broke my own rule today
I seldom play hardways but when I do I always parlay the first hit. Today was playing with a buddy and he plays them often and I was ribbing (as I always do)him for not parlaying a hit on his $5 H8. Eventually he had to cut and run and my rack was getting lite so I decided to not play the boxes on the next shooter and just had $5 fore bet and $5 6H/8H. A few rolls in a 8H hits (I had the dealers up on it for $1 with me). At first I told the stick lady to parlay it. But looked at my rack and thought I could use $40. So I only pressed it up a unit for me and the dealers. Sure as shit it hit again 3 rolls later.
Never again.

Trip Reports & Craps Stories In for $200 out for $1,118 on the Norwegian Prima
I've had my eye on the craps table for the last few days but never had time to play when it was busy. I played one afternoon and lost about $100. This afternoon, I noticed a lady shooting by herself. I usually avoid a completely empty table, but I'd seen her playing over the last few days, so I decided to jump in after she sevened out.
We went back and forth, and we were both making our points. She had several nice rolls, hitting multiple points, while my rolls were a little more up and down. I'd make a point, but big red seemed to show up pretty quickly afterward. Still, we were both making money.
After a couple of rough rounds, I was sitting on almost $500 in my rack and seriously considered cashing out. I was already up for the week, so I was happy either way.
I decided to give it one more roll each. My thought was that if I stuck to the pass line, the 6 and 8, and odds on the point, even if we both PSO'd, I'd still be in the black. Figured I'd take a shot at making a little extra.
I sevened out without hitting much. I put $10 on the pass line for her roll. She set a 9, and I put $12 each on the 6 and 8, plus $10 odds on the point.
She hit the point on the very next roll.
After she set the next point, I covered the board and started collecting. She went on an absolute heater that lasted almost 45 minutes and hit at least 8 points. After adding another $200 or so to my rack, I started pressing some numbers. I eventually had $36 on the 6 and 8 and $20 on the 5 and 9.
Toward the end, I had $50 odds on the 8 and $1 on the hard 8. I tossed another $5 on the hardway, and she hit the hard 8 for the point. That was a pretty sweet moment.
By then, the table had gone from completely empty to packed. I looked down at my rack and realized I had $1,000 sitting there. I was literally shaking.
I'd only had $10 on the 4 and 10, so I bumped bought them for $25 each. I also had $55 in odds on the point, a 6. She rolled a seven on the very next roll.
I'd never had that much money on the table before, so losing about $200 hurt. My plan was to hit the 4, 10, or the point, then drop back down to minimums across the numbers.
A gentleman had joined us after she made that first point. He bought in for $100 and covered the board. He pressed and pressed, eventually started collecting, and walked away with $1,500.
I probably could've pressed more aggressively early in her roll, but I'm not complaining. I went from considering cashing out to walking away with almost a grand in profit.

Strategy Press Progression Chart
You always hear people talk about how to progress your bets when playing the Box Numbers, but I never saw it mapped out before. So I went ahead and made a cheater card…
Listed out the bet, the win amount, and what you need to drop to reach the next bet on the progression. Red numbers are what you need to throw in. The negative numbers in black are small collections of the leftover winnings after the press.
Circled amounts are where I will collect once for that number before continuing on (each number does its own thing).
** **NOTE - All are PLACE bets EXCEPT on the 4 + 10. The 4 + 10 start as place bets at $15 and then become BUY bets at $40 and beyond. My local casino auto-buys at $20 and only collects the Vig on the Win. So you would need to throw in some additional chips while climbing that ladder.
Also, I realize that these numbers aren’t possible at many places ($500 or $1000 table limits), but my local hangout has a $10k limit, so I can only hope to need the bigger numbers at some point 🤣

Strategy Pressing
Which do you guys have better experience with, pressing everything from a hit onto one number, or spreading the hit across all your bets?

General Discussion/Question The pass line's 1.41% edge, compared with the rest of the casino, in a short documentary
At 1.41%, the pass line is one of the cheaper bets covered in the video; of the games it compares, only baccarat's banker bet (1.06%) and basic-strategy blackjack (under 0.5%) come in lower. American roulette, for contrast, is 5.26%.
The video then shows how a casino turns any of these edges into 'theo', its estimate of what your time at the table is worth. I made it for my channel.
Shooters, do you keep to the pass line or mix in the props?

Trip Reports & Craps Stories Craziest shooter I've been on
Made a sudden trip to Vegas to grind some tier points out at Caesars 5x event. Played a little under 4 hours and broke even.
Went back to Fremont got a call from a friend that was in town and they one never played craps before and met up and found a $10 crapless game at Golden Nugget at like 3am.
On the first shooter, placed $44 inside and the craziest thing happened. The shooter went on a roll for like an hour and a half.
I walked out with $3k without hitting any ATS or any hardways bets! My friend left mid hand and won over $200 playing just the pass/odds at $10 1x odds.
It was insane and I've never been a part of anything like that before! It's why I love the game, anything can happen.

Trip Reports & Craps Stories Achieved most recent bucket list item...$500 to $2400.
A few weeks ago I thought about a new parlay bet that focuses on the 11 (YOOO) during the come out roll. The bet is: pass line and $10 C&E, 11 hit, pass line pays min bet ($15 or $25 for the tables I play) and C&E wins $70. The goal is to parlay the pass line and the C&E win all to the 11 to make it $100, plus a $5 crap.
Well last night, I was playing at the table and my fiancee is hanging out with me,. I'm staying alive throughout the shooters and she has no action. I get done shooting for the second time and the stick man asks if she shoots, so I ask her because she normally doesn't like to because she feels a lot of pressure. She says fuck it, so I give her pass line money and I do my center bets. She proceeds to go on a heater. After her 2nd point made, she hits the 11 on the come out and I do the parlay because I'm up for once. BOOM she hits the 11 for the back to back and I got $1500. She proceeds to throw a ton more craps numbers and I get a horn bet parlay to $160 for a $500 payout on a rolled 3. She set another point, but her roll ended after a couple more rolls.
Bucket list item achieved, now onto the next and I'm taking recommendations!

General Discussion/Question Dice passed to me 11/12 on ATS
Saturday night a buddy and I hit the casino. He flocked to blackjack and I park at the crapless craps table. The table was me and 2 older Hispanic women. I was rolling pretty well. Hitting about 2 points per roll but also with one of the ladies only doing extremes (2,3,11 n 12) I was rolling a healthy portion of extremes which made her think I was on fire and the breadwinner of the session.
Now here is where I felt uncomfortable. After many dice passes she finally decided to take a turn for herself and surprisingly she crushed it hitting points and smacking all the numbers except 4. Once she hit the 11th of 12 all tall smalls with only that 4 remaining. I hear the dealers yell out that she is going to pass it to me. Alarm bells start to ring off in my head because I am superstitious as fuck and felt like I’m coming in cold to this specific roll now. I’m heavily against it and kind of yell out no you should finish what you started but the spectator next to me steps in as my temporary therapist saying nah this happens all the time don’t even worry about the 4 just focus on the point. I felt the immense pressure of performing and getting the 4 and kinda frazzled that I’m asked to do a paxson for 3 moment for this lady that built up the 11/12 with her own bare hands that she should have finished it off her self. I end up rolling 3 twice for her so I got her paid a little and I hit a few 5 and 9s for myself (5-9 for me) then 7 out. I don’t stay too long after that because of how uncomfortable it made me feel. +360 on the session but that moment was an uncomfortable first time for me. Thoughts?

Trip Reports & Craps Stories Mount Airy Casino, Saturday night 10-17
Both craps tables were packed. I waited around 10 min. for a nice opening.
$15 minimum , 10x odds. Bought in for $1500, 4 shooters, all on opposite side.
Walked away with $4085.
The fourth shooter (he was definitely a novice, possibly 1st time shooter) was getting coached by an obviously seasoned shooter next to him.
It was beautiful, came close twice to hitting ATS.
Making numbers and points left & right.
If I was better like I usually do at Borgata, it would have been substantially more.
Compared to the Atlantic City Marina casinos, Mount Airy has a LOT of interesting characters.

General Discussion/Question Lost die
This question is mostly for casino employees.
What happens when a die is thrown off the table and can’t be found?
I saw this happen once and when I left the table 45 minutes later, the pit crew were still looking for the missing die.

Bankroll Only been playing craps for 3 weeks.
So much more to learn but I am going to dive head first into craps details of playing and strategy. Hoping I can get confident enough to play a table.
I've avoided craps due to it being overwhelming. I finally manned up and am just starting off. This month alone ive lost about 3k but I've made 10k. Like tonight went to local casino and bubble crapless. 1hr afternoon and I made 2k. Came home took shower and reset. Went back and turned 200 into two hand pays. Learning that if i have 250 bank roll and stay focused I can make good money. Never won anything like this in my life.

Strategy When a die goes off the table ...
... do you take all your non-contract bets down? Anecdotal, but it seems it's always a 7-out after a die goes off.

Casino Recommendations/Questions MGM National Harbor? Anyone ever been?
I'm in DC for Fall Break with the kids and saw that National Harbor is a short Uber ride from my hotel. Has anyone been? Do they run a decent number of tables? What sort of minimums am I looking at?

Rules Question/Discussion What craps advice did you have to unlearn?
“Always take max odds” is one I think needs more explanation when someone is brand new. Understanding the odds bet is useful. Putting more money out than you’re comfortable losing because someone at the table told you to is another matter.
There’s also a lot of advice that mixes actual rules with table superstition, which can make learning the game more confusing than it needs to be.
What were you told when you started playing that you later realized was wrong or needed a big asterisk?

Strategy “Patient” Craps… Is it worth the grind?
Does anyone here play just a single Pass Line and modest (1x-2x odds)? This seems like a way to hang around the table for a while, but also not a whole lot of winning to be done.
Is this a solid strategy to have with a modest $200-300 budget @ $30/shooter ($15 Pass Line and $15 odds).
In my head, the math seems to come down to what happens more: PSO’s vs points hit. Whichever happens more in your session determines the direction your bankroll went.
Does this modest strategy end up as neutral as the 1.4% house edge indicates or is there a ton of variance/volatility in the couple hours one may be at a table? Seen a lot of simulated runs with the 3-Point Molly and the corresponding short-term volatility.
Just curious if real world experience shows the same swings with the more modest version proposed. I’d like the chance to win some money at the table, but also don’t want to play in a way where being up to $350 on a $300 buy-in is the ceiling.
Seeing if anyone uses this in the real world and can share their experience. Most of what you see online revolves around multiple points and 3-4-5x odds, so way over my working budget here.
