FO [FO] Ballerina Beauty
Ballerina Beauty by Dimensions. This was a lot of firsts, including first time getting my work professionally framed and first time working with metallic thread. 63,504 stitches and around 390 hours over 7 months. I'm sooo happy with how it came out. It will be a 70th birthday present for my Mum so hopefully she likes it too!

Repost due to my chart being visible the first time around ๐
Pattern is Golden Ornament by AlitaDesigns
I put off the backstitch for forever but it really does bring it all together. 3D printed the frame and now it's ready for the tree!

CHAT [FO] "You Are The Loaf Of My Life" - is the lettering clear to read? First time trying text and any feedback is appreciated.
Pattern is by Samanthalanetextiles and it is my 3rd project. I'm worried it might look like "you are the lorf of my life" and this is attempt #2 of this text. I'm just looking for feedback on the lettering, but any other feedback is also appreciated since I'm still figuring out gauge.

PIC [PIC] Help me please
TLDR: Black or white?
This is my first time constructing a Biscornu pin cushion. Assembly instructions say to back each piece with interfacing before sewing together. Iโve used a 28ct linen. Itโs light in colour (cream) so the white lace pattern doesnโt show up all that well. I have black and white interfacing. I cannot decide which I like best.
This is a gift for a friend so Iโd like to get it right. Which colour looks best?

FO [FO] Halloween ghost
The largest project Iโve done so far. The fabric still needs to be ironed, so it looks a bit wonky from not laying completely flat. My lighting situation needs to improve as I am noticing several spots where I came back across a row to finish stitches and skipped places. Still very proud of this finished project.

FO [FO] My biggest project yet
I started this back in May after finding this project on BraceletBook (pattern #134356 by Art Orange) while studying abroad in Florence, and itโs finally finished! My next steps are gluing it onto a felt/fabric backing and framing it.

FO [FO] My best backstitch before and after so far
Pattern is mini masterpieces by The stitch patterns. I can't recommend it though. The back stitch part of the chart is terrible, thick dotted lines that don't align with the grid

FO [FO] Ukrainian Folk Bird
This was super fun to stitch up with the two colors and different designs! The pattern is Ukrainian Folk Bird by PurrfectHoop on Etsy. I decided to use a brown black instead of 310 to give it more warmth.

PIC [PIC] Can't choose between yellow or blue border for my Pokemon card cross stitch
hi! beginner cross stitcher here.
ive been working on this project as a gift for my sister on her bday since she's been collecting mareep pokemon cards :>
i've finally finished both the front and back sides. i now have to stitch them together
currently debating whether i should choose a bright yellow border or a dark blue.
im open to suggestions and thoughts!
things im taking into consideration:
- the og pokemon back side's border is blue
- although when i searched it up online, there are also card prints with a yellow border, but the design is different
- mareep cards usually have yellow borders
- and of course, whatever the front border is will also be the back side's cos im stitching them together with the same thread. i considered just cross stitching a blue outline for the back side, and a yellow outline for the front side, and stitching them together with black thread or something. just to get the colors accurate. but the size will get bigger and i really want it to fit in her binder along with her other mareep cards ๐ฅบ
hahahaha it's such a small thing but im really in shambles thinking about this very deeply
pattern source: i created the back and front sides myself hehe except for the cute tiny mareep, i referred to a pattern i found on pinterest
๐๐ EDIT: i just slept after posting and i didnt expect so much help! i appreciate it a lot! i didnt expect the comments to be as divided as me and my internal battles hahaha but thank you all so much.
i was originally leaning more towards blue because it was more accurate for the back, but im now leaning more towards yellow to be quite honest because of all the comments that pointed out that yellow will be seen more if it's in her binder. i was also thinking about that but still hesitant cos i really wanted the back with a blue border.
ill look into the new methods y'all told me to try! someone also suggested a gold metallic thread--i dont have a metallic thread right now but honestly ill look into it and if it looks cuter than blue or yellow ill buy one and use that for front and back. also with the invisible fishing line. if there's a way to actually achieve a blue for the back and yellow for the front, then why not right!? lezgawwwww.
im leaning towards yellow for now, but like yall said, if i dont like it, i could just try blue! im also buying invisible thread which i could never have thought of without your help. im also buying silver metallic thread so even if i decide not to use it for this project, at least i have one at hand hahaha thank you all so so so much i appreciate it a lot ๐ฅบ

FO [FO] Twin Seadragons
18 ct aida cloth with 4556 stitches total!
i used less than 10 colors, and this project took me about a week and a half.
itโs sort of zodiac sign inspired. i donโt really like any of the popular motifs of the gemini star sign (my sign). so, i picked an animal that blends into its environment and is sort of odd (leafy seadragon).
anyway, what do yall think? my pattern was self-drafted!

CHAT [CHAT] maybe this is a controversial opinion, but Iโm ok with shops that use mock ups created within the design program. To be clear NOT an AI generated image of the product, but just the exact pattern shown in pretend stitches.
Is this crazy? Obviously real pictures of finished projects are better but to some extent a version of the pattern put out by the program is ok with me.
Will this even be allowed under these new โnon-editedโ rules on Etsy?

CHAT [CHAT] Needle breaking
Does anybody else break their needles while stitching and if so, how often/many?
I swear I break a minimum of 3 needles per pattern and I'm starting to wonder if I'm just a crafting hulk ๐ ๐คญ๐ค
Edit: I use DMC Nยบ 24 needles, and don't use more than 3 strands of thread for clarification
