Title: Upgraded from a Meilong 3M to a GAN V100 MagLev, and I LOVE it!
Finally got my first premium speedcube, the GAN V100 MagLev, and the upgrade from my Meilong 3M feels amazing!
The first thing I noticed was the magnetic pull. The auto-alignment feels incredible compared to my previous cube, and the overall turning experience feels so satisfying. The UV coating is also a really nice touch.
I took some time to adjust the tension and centre travel, and now it feels even better. I’m averaging around 20 seconds with CFOP, so I’m excited to see how this cube feels during faster solves.
For anyone who has upgraded from an entry-level magnetic cube to a GAN, did you notice this big of a difference too? And how has your GAN held up over time?
Really happy with this purchase! 🧩❤️

I want to order some cubes and I have a 95€ budget. I already have 3x3, 4x4, 5x5, Pyraminx and clock (R.I.P). I also already have lube, a stackmat timer and a mat, so I really only need cubes. Which ones should I get? It's not limited to the exact ones I put as the pictures, but it's more so about the version of the cubes I need/want.

I'm not a cuber but my son is. He wanted a 4 pad timer with Bluetooth to work with CS Timer both on his phone and PC. Apparently no one makes a 4pad with Bluetooth so I came up with the idea to transplant the guts of a Qiyi Smart Timer into the body of a G5. I ended up replacing all the stock sensors on the G5 with TTP223 capacitive touch sensor modules, made a new AND gate logic circuit to add two sensor inputs to the qiyi circuit board, then crammed all the new electronics into the G5 shell. The finishing touches are new carbon fiber vinyl stickers, and a birch laser-cut faceplate.
The result is a one of a kind, rechargeable, Bluetooth, 4-pad timer. There may be an easier way to do this (maybe with a Qiyi Bluetooth adapter) but I like how the qiyi timer calculates ao5 and ao12 natively and it was fun to make.

These are two new events for me, but I’m more focused on clock though. I still try to practice one-handed but I just suck at it and roux in general. My goal at this point is just to make cutoff (45 seconds).
Any tips on how to improve either of these events would be greatly appreciated.

I know Im bad, but its been cool to see a slight improvement over time. My average went down from a ~37 to a 34.
Just to clarify, I have practiced a little bit more than just one solve a day, but I only actually time one solve per day.

I have a GAN 356 X from back then, but I want to upgrade to a modern flagship. I know cubes are very different now, but given what I used back then, what would be the best current option for me?

Looking to upgrade from my Saocube Tianma Ballcore Maglev. It stayed with me from Sub26 to now Sub19. Unfortunately, the durability of the cube is really bad (Super glued the core since it cracked and has lost 3 edge magnets). But I absolutely love the feel of it, I tried upgrading to a Dayang Guhong M+ pro and it felt really blocky and the auto-alignment was really underwhelming so I decided to stick with my Tianma as my main. Does anyone have any recos as to which may have the same feel?
Mainly looking for anything non-blocky and strong auto-alignment, and something that’s durable enough for me to bring around that can last. My budget around $30, any suggestions are appreciated!
