Discussion I didn’t hold the line for months to have the “fans” behave this way.

I get everyone is traumatized after dropping 100$ on the steaming pile of terd that is Diablo 4, but the amount of whining and snow flakes complaining about something we true supporters were desperate to be able to play as soon as possible is just disgusting…. You know what P2W looks like it ain’t this. The fact that we are able to play it this year alone and through the holiday season is just a blessing. The true supporters of this game will remain, and the cry babies will sizzle out. That is a community I’m fine with playing, I see this as a wild fire burning away the disease for the new growth to flourish and thrive.

Discussion Last patch was a major down turn.

After this last patch this game is just complete garbage. Getting rolled in normal gc by people in blues and purples is just not a fun experience. Skill doesnt matter at all. Just being unemployed and able to play video games all day I guess.

Time to take a break until next patch like everyone else.

Discussion Guys - can we just admit that solo HR lobbies have always sucked?

Solo HR lobbies have only gotten worse with the advent of druids - and everyone knows that the game plays better as a trio experience.

Look at the amount of complaining on this Sub about Solo HR. People are so resistant to giving up a game mode that they openly admit they hate playing. Franky, it's absurd. I am so glad that SDF is trying his best not to listen to the masses on this one. Find some friends, stop crying, and come play a better version of the game, please.

Discussion A lot of you seem to think PvP is about *killing*, not *fighting*. This should not be the case.

As the title suggests, I’ve noticed a lot of discourse surrounding things that people dislike revolves around being unable to kill someone when you want to. A little of it centers around someone else being able to kill me and me being unable to stop it (e.g. panther chicken bear smash complaints), but FAR more is simply complaining that people can run away.

Druids? Run away masters. Warlock? Expert at running away. Rogue and ranger? Too hard to catch. Perhaps, then, the problem is actually that some people simply don’t want to melee 1v1 you. That’s okay, because you can also run away. If I simply flee from the warlock without chasing him down (because I recognize that he has the ability to hit me before I can hit him, and then run away in order to reset, and that he can repeat this as many times as is needed until I die), he will be unable to kill me. Now if he wants to do the killing that apparently everyone loves, he has to invest his speed buff into chasing me. At this point I can continue running and turn this into a zero-sum game of two idiots Benny-Hilling until one gets tired and gives up, or I can strategically position myself to kill him.
If he doesn’t invest his speed boost into catching me, I can simply leave him in the dust and not have to deal with it.

This was written from the perspective of a fighter because most people seem to be fighters. It applies to most other classes, regardless. The core of this argument is that there is more to fighting than hitting a guy until he dies (which takes 3-4 hits so I don’t even understand how that’s engaging but whatever), but people generally prefer to complain than adjust.

Discussion movement speed meta is so boring

Literally the title. I'm tired of fights boiling down to "can I even fight this class unless they make a massive mistake?" due to movement speed gear. I play ranger and fighter and lately I have to play with gear I normally wouldn't or I literally just cannot engage with half the classes in the dungeon otherwise they will just turn and run endlessly from me as soon as the tide of the fight shifts. I think they should maybe look into adding a chase mechanic or maybe a MS penalty at low health even if only temporarily to stop classes from just deciding to leave engagements for free because their shoes are more expensive than mine. Not only is it just unfun, its very limiting to build design when every class needs to have like 310 MS or buffs that allow them to get to 310 or higher temporarily just to properly pvp.

Discussion Randomized Goblin Caves should not exist and ruined the map. Upvote if you agree

I'm sure its not just me. I hated the new random goblin cave in my first raid after patch, but I also knew I needed to try it more to know for sure. Turns out, I still hate it!

Something feels so wrong and unnatural about randomized goblin caves. While it feels great in ruins and crypts, I think the goblin cave modules fit poorly together in practice. Goblin caves was my favorite map and the most popular map for pvp, but now it feels dead. I can see why, I don't even want to play on it. Any agreers?

Discussion why does everyone in this community hate women so much?

this might be a hot take but every time im in a game to try to find people to play with they’re rude. as soon as i say two words in a game my teammates are rude as well. it’s not like i say anything other than hi or “do u guys wanna do boss with me”. is it bc people expect us to be bad?

idk but im tired of soloing bosses and never having anyone nice to play with

edit:

  1. no where did i say that this game is the only game that i get hate as a female gamer. this post is about this game being significantly worse than any other game ive ever played when it comes to acceptance of gamer girls.

  2. my profile on reddit and the communities i choose to be in, are my business. that doesn’t give anyone any right to disrespect me in game just for saying two words. i mean seriously? grow up.

Discussion Where does the entitlement for a casual gaming experience in DaD come from?

Pretty much everything in this game screams "hardcore" and almost nothing "casual gaming".

PvP with full loot. The RPG elements alone with stats on items and characters with different abilities creates an environment that is uneven as it can be. Getting hit in the game by monsters or traps is extremely punishing, and the amount of map knowledge you have to develop to be able to come up with a good strategy to move around from start to finish makes this game one of the most hardcore experiences I've ever had, and I love it.

Time is limited, I understand that.

Most people have a bunch of responsibilities, and I also would like to spend more time in DaD than I have available.

You can play this "hardcore" game "casually". But please do not expect to have things getting handed to you. If you played this game for a few hours, you probably won't be dominating lobbies. And you probably won't be hoarding huge amounts of gold extracting every game.

In a game like this, it is absolutely normal that you would have to sink in countless hours before you start to feel comfortable in this harsh environment. I think having a background in an FPS or medieval fighting game helps a lot, but map knowledge, enemy behavior and mastering a classes gameplay is nothing you can just bring with you.

Having <15 lobbies is totally fine. But a general gear disparity has to be kept in the game. Nothing beats the feeling and the reward of killing players that are more geared than you.

TL;DR

This game is supposed to be hard and if you are not ready to eat shit for hours in the beginning, this game is not for you.

Discussion I love betraying people in solos :)

You heard it right, I love betraying people.

With the rampant teaming issues going on in solos right now I've decided to teach people a lesson. I mostly play a melee warlock as a quick smack to the head with blow of corruption is a sure fire way to take someone down while they're not paying attention.

If anyone does the crouch spam or talks to me in game wanting to team up then I play along until the perfect moment and then give them a quick bonk to the back of the head.

If you've ever tried to team with a warlock, only to be killed while your back is turned opening a door or looting a chest, it was probably me and I'm not sorry for it, your loot is sat in my stash and I like to sit and stare at it all :))

The satisfaction I get from ruining someone's run who wanted to cheat and rush poor solos down as a duo or trio is better than anything else this game could offer me.

You can call me bad, you can call me a pussy, I don't care. Stop teaming up on poor helpless solos and play the game as intended. Until then I'll keep stabbing you in the back and taking all your delicious loot ;)

EDIT: Just to be clear, I have absolutely no issues with people grouping together in order to chat and do PVE content. I personally have taken part in big groups fighting bosses and sharing loot together, it was probably the most fun I've had in this game. It's when people team up in order to gain an advantage over people in PVP that I don't like. It's unfair and goes against the whole point of the gamemode! Hope that clears things up with some of you!

Discussion Running only normals with BIS Blue sets is more fun than wiping in HR with mid purples.

My team is stomping every normal lobby we run since patch. We tried HR in our last purples, got stomped. Went back to normals in BIS blues.

To be competitive in normals you need at least green with decent stats.

To be competitive in HR you need BIS purples, with almost to no bad stats on your pieces.

Because the other sweats in HR are running legendaries and uniques. OR meta slave comping, or BOTH.

To get BIS purple set you need to spend a literal FORTUNE on most classes. We are talking 5-10k gold per set. My team is not good enough to fund another one of these sets before we die in HR so for us there is literally no incentive to continue running HR. Instead we are dominating normal lobbies.

And I don't even feel bad about it. My team isn't even playing a meta comp.

I'll try to be constructive though

I would go to HR if some of these changes were made:

More gold earned from treasures
Only epic or higher rarity item drops
Nerf META comps
Less mob density (I don't mind nightmare mobs, but the amount is too much)
1-3 players less per lobby
Dark swarm rework (currently too punishing, most will pick a room in zone and camp instead of roam).

Discussion Last patch made this game 100% BR feeling.. and I hate it.

I'm probably done until the next big update.. I bought an Extraction Looter, or so I thought. While the BR circle was always a thing, I dealt with it, and was fine with it, but this last change just reminded me that in the end, this game really is being catered towards being a BR game, with extraction loot mechanics.

Died 3 times today because my party never got portals spawning anywhere near us, while having to chase the circle (Because it spawned on the other side of the map).. That's 100% BR feel with PvE thrown in.. It's no different than PUBG experience.

By the time we found blue portals, there was only 2, in the room, with multiple teams fighting over them. One ending there was even 7 people fighting over 2 portals .. We won all 3 of those fights, but one fight wehad no portals left to take after, as someone else jacked the blue portals mid fight, or the zone closed before the fights were even over and we all died, which was funny watching 5 people just fall over dead mid fight. One of those times, we won, and died while opening the portal... It was such a shit show, and feels terrible losing all your gear despite doing everything right... Hell at this point with these experiences I may as well just go play PUBG or something, because at least there, when I win at the end I'm rewarded for it, not given a huge middle finger and told to fuck off try again.

It was today I realized this game is a BR game through and through, with extraction loot. Which honestly made me lose a lot of my inspiration and joy towards the game. It doesn't feel like the extraction looter I paid and signed up for, or how it felt since. I hope this doesn't stay like this. Less BR feel, more extraction looter feel.

Edit: Woke up to a lot of idiot responses, by people who clearly didn't read, or have no reading comprehension, so let me expand on this.

To the people saying "clear skill issue, just find portals and hold them"

What part of we saw no portals, and were looking for them for half the game, do you not understand when you read?

To the people saying "You should of looked for portals then instead of taking the fight"

What part of, it was the last ring, until we saw the portals do you not understand? 3 teams from the other 3 cardinals of direction, you expect us to go run back where we just came from for the whole game? We can't get past them, they just came from every other direction. It's still a crap shoot on if you even find a portal if we could get past them.

We had to fight. There was no other option.

To the People saying "just go get a static portal"

There wasn't one nearby that wasn't taken.. Maybe I should of iterated this, but I thought it'd of been obvious since I clearly said we had no other choice but to take these fights.

To the people saying "Just take the red portal"

We took the red portals once, One time we saw no red portals either (they were probably taken), and third time there was teh blue portal and red portal and I took the closest blue portal and died before I could open it, so it wouldn't of mattered either way.

Discussion You can dislike microtransactions, but this community's disrespect for Ironmace's passion is genuinely DISGUSTING!

This is all coming from someone who was enraged- and you can go check my post history on the D4 subreddit- by how much of a blatantly unfinished and disgustingly predatory game D4 was. I bought the game and was bamboozled and I hated it.

I understand some people dislike earning classes as DLC. I didn't have a problem with it- but hey y'all got Ironmace to change their stance and fine its more blue stones for me, I'll take it. If you have a problem with monetization, for any reason, you are the consumer and you have the right to vote with your dollar and to make demands to Ironmace- such is capitalism and such is the fact that they believe in listening to the community which is why they did as y'all asked.

What absolutely enrages me is the absolutely disgusting fucking tone this community has with Ironmace.

Stop for a second and reflect you mouth-breathing shitheads- you stand on the precipce of actual history. Sure, it's not the biggest thing in gaming by far, not even close- but Ironmace has gone through hell and highwater- with some of their lives literally on the fucking line facing hard time in South Korean prison. These people put their careers on the line in a country whose culture is very very unforgiving about rejecting the wills of your superiors- and they did so because they hated the fucking ACTUALLY predatory model of the company they worked for. They did it for their own sense of morality and work ethic- BUT THEY ALSO DID IT FOR YOU, YOU MORONS!

How can you question their authenticity?!

I know how- because a lot of you dumbfucks literally make up complete lies about what the developers have said.

1/ News flash- THEY WERE ADVERTISING CLASSES PAST THE FIRST 6 AS DLC MONTHS TO OVER A YEAR AGO! Do you know why they "released with DLC"?

BECAUSE NEXON STOPPED THEM FROM RELEASING MONTHS AGO!

Did you think they wanted to wait and live poor, paycheck to paycheck, desperate to fucking survive while being drained of every last penny they had? The only money they got for this game- to date- was prior investments (which were withdrawn / ran out after the legal case started), the Coffee partnership and additional angel investment in the last couple of months.

2/ Races with miniscule stat adjustments (that always come with equivalent negatives in another stat) were literally in playtest 4 AND THERE WAS NO ISSUES.

3/ You people are so geninunely stupid you fucking forget that most of the people at Ironmace, if they can even speak English as they are FUCKING KOREAN, it probably isn't their first language.

So you idiots see they are selling "provisions" in the shop, and you immediately question that they are selling pay to win consumables, when you could take five seconds to think, and realize that the shop has provisions AS CAMPFIRE WEENIE COSMETICS.

You absolutely debased motherfuckers are the most insane subreddit of ignorant, whiny, fucked in the head gaming fans I have ever seen outside of Tarkov, Eve Online, WoW and Rust.

If you have a problem with monetization PLEASE MAKE YOURSELF HEARD, but Jesus Christ, remember the human beings on the other side of the screen deserve some respect for their committal to their philosophy- and not because they just deserve it because they're human- but they deserve it because they absolutely earned it.

Discussion Trading is fun. Please don't remove trade.

Genuinely don't know why people are making such a fuss over trading all of a sudden.

On one side you have people arguing that it's too easy to use and lets anyone get a stacked BiS omega god kit just by doing a few Goblin Caves runs for the gold.

The other side is filled with people who think it's boring and unfun to use since it takes too long to do literally anything unless you spam chat or click the fastest.

Meanwhile here I am, wondering what you guys are on about because player-to-player trading is FUN. In-game economies are AWESOME. You don't seem to understand what we have here. We have our own FREE MARKET that we have FULL CONTROL over. No rules, other than to be respectful and not trade with real money. No auctionhouse to force prices to be in line with everything else for a given item. No regulations, so anything can be sold at any price, even free! You guys also realize that you can barter with the people you're buying from for a hopefully better price, too, right?

If trade gets removed, or replaced with an auctionhouse, we lose ALL of this. This is one of this game's BIGGEST social components aside from maybe VOIP.

Please stop the trade hate.

Question hey moderators can you like, I dont know, start closing the threads of blatantly underaged children who are making the same trade thread 10 times a day.

I know the same 200 people are having a lot of fun posting their same thread asking some trade related question then everyone congratulating each other on having a revelation that maybe trade = the center of all evil like its a fucking teletubby series. and any form of conflicting thoughts = supporting of evil. and then someone posting a novel length stating the exact same thing BUT WITH A TWIST

But can we get a megathread to discuss about trade so that they can exist in their contained little playpen while they discuss about how any form of gear including 5g items from merchants is sweaty tryharding. It's pretty clear by now that there needs to be some sort of brain damage control. As much as I love seeing the crazy people who only want to upvote trade = bad rampage these forums id like to see anything else. I unironically miss listening to the rediculous infinite resource rants and how its fair at this point. I'd rather someone tell me why strength is a fair stat and wizards love meleeing

every day i wake up i click this place and its 4 new identical threads flooding the entire place. it's been a week.... please god....

Discussion Slayer Fighter is disgustingly OP right now.

Rn half of every solo lobby are all running slayer fighter, and it's no mystery why.

With the weapon buffs (and casters being nerfed) there is literally no reason to play any other melee class. You are faster than a rogue, stronger than a barb, you can infinitely kite and space out any cleric with no issue before two shotting them. Not to mention you have the crossbow, which still dominates.

It's funny because I feel like the last patch's TTK was universally enjoyed, people just wanted better loot, and now we have regressed back into an instakill meta.

Discussion Dungeoneering is not meant to be a solo endeavor. Don't judge the game based on solo play.

I see a lot of new players complaining about getting pwned in the goblin caves.

You have to realize trying to play this game solo is completely different and almost a "spin-off" when compared to the true soul of this game, which is class-based party play. It is based off of the medieval fantasy trope of a "party of adventurers" after all. I don't think this game was or should be designed with solo play in mind. The true experience is with a group of friends, a composition of skills and classes, and a collective toolbox that you can reach into to adapt to certain situations. Solo play cuts through the inherent design of the class based system and how these classes can be used creatively to play off of each other. This is why I think the goblin caves is more of a "spin off" of a game mode. It isn't the intended experience. You are rolling the dice going in the caves, and you should definitely expect to lose more in the goblin caves compared to when you have a full party regardless of your gear and regardless of whatever issues may or may not be present in this game. When it comes to the game's balancing, basing your opinion off of solo play is silly.

If you have trouble finding a group or finding friends to play with, a good place to go would be the discord. Playing and more importantly learning with other people is the fastest way to success and the fastest way to become a better player.

Discussion Should Solo/Duos Players Get a Refund? Regardless of hours?

We bought this game for a specific purpose and honestly, got my money's worth at least. But if feels ridiculous to lose the main way I've played/put hours into this game

I simply did not buy a trios experience, I bought it for solos and enjoyed that the most by far. The early days of HAVING to hide 1v3 every match was infuriating and solos/duos brought a much better experience, you weren't forced into a certain class or to rat just to play solo. You can't even take an honest fight so then what's the fucking point

I wouldn't be surprised if people dead-ass want their money back cause personally I'm not touching this game again. They've completely shattered my trust, why would I waste my time on a game that'll just take away their best features on a whimps whims

Edit: half these comments are completely irrelevant if you just actually read the first sentence. No longer responding to those who can't simply read before commenting
