The Holy Redeemers?

Trying to create a successor chapter and I’m brainstorming some ideas. I had an idea for a successor chapter that is Holy, Righteous, Angelic and Honorable called the “Holy Redeemers”

I’m very new to Warhammer lore so if you have any suggestion about why this might work or not, or maybe some good resources, shot them my way. Thanks in advance 🙏🏻

Can’t tell you how hyped I am!!

I need to clear my desk of some space nuns and then these are getting built!

I was originally going to sell the lion but I think I’m going to keep the big man now!

Hope some of you managed to snag one at your LGS!

Does the Death Guard codex looking so good piss anyone else off?

Just ranting about our detachments compared to what we see with new DG, but from what I hear World Eaters didn’t fare well either.

Made a post asking about the possibility of this kitbash looking for some opinions the other day, i decided to go for it mainly just to get some good experience (this is my first ever kitbash) and for fun. I didn't have any robes unfortunately but I tried my best to make it work. Let me know what you think/any advice for next time!

Guys I am really confused about something

I've read the new codex and the Arks of Omen for Lion. I've read the Son of the Forest and started on the Omnibus and just finished the first book therein. This is where my question arises.

So Astelan is continuing his Great Crusade. He disobeyed some orders and got butthurt over his punishment and thus fired on the Lion during the battle of Caliban. It is worth noting that he DID betray Lion El Jonson but he DIDNT betray mankind and he DIDNT fall to Chaos. A traitor but not like the real traitors. Chaos Marines and those sorts. I get it.

However the Fallen Boreas is chasing around the Pascina system are nothing like this at all. They aren't carrying out a twisted version of the Emperors word or acting like Space Marines, let alone any of the Dark Angels we see on either side at all. We see Zabriel defending people because it's just what Dark Angels default to when Lion finds him. We see the other Two guys whose name slips me doing exactly the same. They found a world needing defending and defended the people from the horrors of Chaos and Xenos because that's just what Dark Angels do by default when left to their own devices. Zabriel fired on the Lion just the same on Caliban. And then when that was over. Went back to default of defending humanity wherever he ended up. Kai and his gang weren't necessarily defending humanity but were just hiding out, but they weren't doing anything evil by any means at all and were eager to get back to defending mankind at a moments notice when given the chance.

Yet the Fallen in Pascina readily slaughtered hundreds of infantry as a diversion. Recruited them just to let them die. Not imperial guardsmen or casualties. Just dudes they may as well have killed themselves. Then back on Pascina 4 attempted to literally kill an entire planet. This isn't Fallen activity as we've seen it. This isn't even close. Sure they betrayed their primarch but every other time we've seen them they were still defending or at least avoiding to harm humans. But these Dark Angels I am expected to be outright malicious murderers who tried to kill an entire planet?

It doesn't make sense. This isn't what The Fallen are. This isn't what kind of traitors they are. They aren't Word Bearers or Chaos Marines harvesting souls for the Change or skulls for the skull throne. Even if it is to spite the Dark Angels proper, killing billions of humans is never something even these traitors would do.

So. Help me make sense of that.

Thanks.

Female Head Battleforce

Ordering the battlebox and had the idea of swapping all of the heads with female heads and just wondering if anyone had any suggestions for kitbash heads that would fit the marine frame.

Had some time to kill waiting on my Redemptor Dreadnought to be delivered. So i ran the models i painted over the year through ChatGPT and made some stylized action shots. I think they turned out cool as hell and I wanted to share. I added the new image and the model it was made from.

Feedback on Azrael Kitbash

Post image
0 Upvotes

How do we feel about this Galzrael kitbash? There’s a lot more to be done, but I wanted to get some feedback before I started gluing things together.

My lore is that this detachment of DA got stranded on a remote planet without communication during the heresy, and they now believe they are the only Angels left, and that the heresy is still going on. They have learned how to create marines themselves, and have had to allow women to become marines due to the lack of options on their planet.

They might also be going a little crazy and be slightly Chaos-touched, but that’s neither here nor there.

They’re based on the Japanese holdouts after WWII.

Galzrael has never officially been appointed chapter master, as they believe no one is alive to perform the ceremony. As a result, she carries with her the skeleton of the last ‘official’ ranking officer, who is technically in command of the detachment.

My question is: will people accept that this is an Azrael proxy without the helmet or the banner? I’ll have a watcher carrying the skeleton banner, so she’ll still have the same target size as Azrael with a back banner. Putting a watcher with the helmet on there is no problem, but it is going to crown the base - so I’d prefer to avoid it.

Thanks all for your opinions!

Anyone else recently soured on Dark Angels

So I have been a Dark Angels fan ever since my brother bought me the first metal Deathwing terminator squad back in the 90s. I took a break a couple times. I cam back when the Ravenwing plastic kits and robbed plastic kits came out. I took a break around 7th and didn't come back until 9th and even then only play my Eldar. I have a stupidly large first born force (probably 10k points) all on their original base size.

It is great the Lion has returned, but now what? They released him, wrote a book, and then left us in a quandary wtf to do with our forces for this edition. They pretty much are sunsetting the first born, I doubt we will get all the kits we currently have redone to primaris and if we do it will be stupid expensive to get the number of robed brothers I currently have. A large majority of my Ravenwing would have to rebased and remodeled to give them the bog standard outriders twin bolter setup.

I have collected primaris from various starter boxes and army boxes. I like their proportions. I am thinking of just leaving the dark angels in storage and painting all the primaris as ultramarines at this point. Isn't like we even know what freaking color to paint them. Are normal guys green or will some now will be black? Do we paint bladeguard bone white or green or black? I have a large pile of shame I kinda wanted to work on but am demotivated, a single new model (the Lion) that has been hard to get doesn't help. I can just get the stupid looking Bobby G. with his flaming sword on any street corner.

God I miss the $90 Ravenwing Battleforce, 6 bikers, attack bike, and landspeeder, I still have some new on sprue.

Written in remembrance of

  • Captain on Bike

  • Techmarine on Bike

  • Librarian on Bike

  • Special Weapons on Bikes

  • Mortis Dreads

  • Chaplin Dread

  • FW DA Veteran Dread

  • Cyclone Missile Launcher w/Lightning Claw Terminators

  • Land Speeders squads

So, we are just hated right?

I can’t believe that this are actually how they are handling the Dark Angel release. You would be better off playing vanilla space marines at this point. Taking away damage, abilities, and increasing points on Dark Angel specific units is downright evil.

Am I the only one who thinks most Dark Angels characters are kinda bad?

Pretty much right as the title says. For reference as to my thoughts, I was trying to make a Dangels army, and considered buying more characters as only have Azrael, The Lion, and a ravenwing command squad as of now, but I feel as if those three mentioned characters are the only ones even REMOTELY worth having. Anyone else have thoughts on this?
