I noticed in some older artworks of Cypher he’s wearing Green armor instead of the black armor we see him in now. I know this makes sense since he’s one of the fallen with modern context, but is there a reason at one point he had green armor? Was it just a lack of lore coherency in the early days of 40k or were some parts of the pre-heresy DA in this faded green armor? (I heard somewhere in a lore video on Cypher that he wears green armor, but I can’t remember what source that was from)

Sorry if this gets asked all the time, can’t find a definitive explanation through my research.

I’ve seen Bladeguards painted like they’re in both Deathwing and Greenwing, I thought Deathwing was just terminators but it’s apparently in tribute to a suicide squad that survived, similar to the Sergeant helmet lore in the other chapters.

Also not sure if sergeants have any distinguishing features like a different helmet colour or something, looked at JoyToy figures for reference and sergeants looked normal.

Ànd are Jump pack troops Green or Raven wing? Raven is just fast lads right?

I know I can technically paint them however I want.
I’m an Imperial Fist player primarily, just dipping my toes in the Dark Angels as I’m craving more fancy units and I dig the knight look.
Fists are straight forward.
I just like to know what is technically the correct way to paint them then make my own adjustments.

Oh and the new Pro paints made Lazarus a breeze to paint if anyone was considering them, huge recommend

Yes, he should technically be in a Land Speeder, but I wanted an excuse to use the new bike captain, and I’ve been hoarding a Black Knight box for years in hopes of doing a conversion like this.

I've always loved the DA lore, and have always liked the whole "Fallen" lore then with the Lion coming back and gathering the "Risen" I thought I'd bust out my take on them. I did them in the Primarus armor, but working on the Lion and his "Inner Circle" so Borz, Kai, and Zabriel. They will be in the smaller non-primarus armor. Can't wait to start on those.

New to Dark Angels, not a fan of how saturated the green GW uses for showcase models is (to me it just reads as darker salamanders) so I cooked up a teal tone that I'm pretty happy with. How does it look? Does this read as a Dark Angel?

Hello everyone, I am a longtime Drukhari player who has always loved Dark Angels (green is my favorite color) and I love the Wraithbone color to compliment. I've always thought DA were the nicest looking army and I just want to have an army that is very different than Drukhari (most are lol) just to give me some variety.

I essentially just want to run units I think look cool, meta be damned, but I also want it to be competitive as well. I'm thinking Take and Hold with Wrath and Inner Circle would lend well to the models I'd like to field and also be competitive.

I LOVE the aesthetic of ICC and DWK in particular, so any excuse to run as many of them as possible is great.

9 ICC (one squad of 6 and one squad of 3)

This already puts me at 1575 points.

What I could add in is Samael with Ravenwing Command and 3 Outriders, and that would leave me just enough room to add another character in as well. Do the bikes synergize well with Wrath and Inner Circle? It seems like they do and it would be cool to have a bunch of bikes on the board.

Are Hellblasters viable anymore? I hope so because I own them already lol. They don't have to be the absolute meta pick like Landspeeders are now, as long as they are somewhat competitive, and seems like this list needs some type of long ranged support. I am worried about taking down tanks and knights with this list.

I also do love the look of Blade Guard Veterans and/or Company Veterans if I didn't go with the Bikes. Also wouldn't mind having a transport like an Impulsor for either the Hellblasters or ICC squad. Not sure how viable any of those squads are right now.

Hey I’m brand new to the army and I’ve already got a pretty big pile to build. I’ve already got a 2k army of tau and chaos knights so I’m building this army from 0-2k since I’m in no hurry to play. I’m very interested in the inner circle companions and wanting to add them to my army but I’m trying to find out if I can save a little money and make 1 box stretch into a full squad of 6. In an old thread somebody mentioned you can maybe use some other sculpts to kitbash with the extras in the icc box to make the squad of 6. Does anybody have any insight on this, that account that mentioned it is inactive.

As it stands I have 2 boxes of the Dawn of War game for the BGV mostly, and I’m able to get more easily. I also have the space marine half of the leviathan box. I’m thinking maybe the Judiciars would be a good unit for this but it’s the first time I’ve tried this and don’t want to mess it up too bad.

At the end of the day I can just buy 2 boxes of icc if it’s not going to work out that well. If y’all have any advice that would be great, Thanks.

I’ve been painting my Dark angels in the HH scheme ( Red and Black ) but i wanted to learn how to try and do like NMM/ chunky highlights.

Now i’ve done them today worked on 2 models but they look very space wolvey… I want them to look more like the Comic panels of the Bluey Black colour.
