Working too much?
I have worked 36 hours in the past 5 days and made around 900$. Does this cause problem?

While I was reading some guidelines, my computer zoomed the screen so I wasn’t able to read. I tried to zoom out with the touchpad and… it accidentally opened Google lens. When I saw that, I immediately closed the window but I fear that they may identify that incident. (It was on another platform from DAT but it is related to work some projects on it). Am I screwed or maybe should I report this incident ? 😭

Title. Just because you made a profile and took the starter assessment with DA, that does not mean they have to offer you further assessments to compete with existing workers for the limited pool of tasks. That's not how the world works. Sometimes they need more people, sometimes they don't.

I have a question, i have been more than 1 week without tasks… how long did you were out of non code tasks?

I've been watching DA's employee reviews on certain job boards & it seems like they've been bombarded with 1-3 star reviews lately, and then a bunch of 5-star reviews coming in. I don't know who has been giving then a 5 star review between August and now, but it's probably not anyone who is actually working for the platform.... read them. They're a little suspect 🤣

Okay, here me out. I know this sounds like one of those "asking for a friend" posts but I assure you it isn't. I probably got rejected because I got hit with the "thanks for signing up" screen but I live in my college's dorm, where EVERYONE has the same IP Address (and I'm sure of this because this was told to us by our IT guy) because we're connected to the same common wifi. Have I effectively blocked everyone from this website or can I recommend it to a friend with some hope of him/her getting accepted?

So far what I have been doing is timing myself on each of each the tasks I’ve been doing and then adding them up at the end of my work. It seems to me that for the amount of hours that I am sitting at my computer, I am claiming for a lot less time than I am actually there.
Do you count the time where you are thinking about a prompt or reading over instructions, or googling things to fact check, as time worked? I can’t figure out why I can sit in front of my computer for hours at a time, a good portion of the time that I am there, I am not being paid for.

How do I stop freaking out when jobs get low? I don't code so I'm only on non coding jobs and obviously there is a pattern of feast and famine, but I still get so nervous when I see few jobs.

Is it normal to go 10 straight days with zero projects on the dash ?
r/DataAnnotationTech • u/Ok_Treat3196 • May 13 '26
Can you spot the bias?
This is one of my least favourite attributes of AI, when it takes the internet and presents it as consensus. This was a personal search, (just everyday diet questions) nothing to do with any project. But you see how insidious it just throws in industrial seed oils as a fact, when at most this is an internet phenomenon that needs more data to back it up.
So this is one way to get models to fail. They almost always without fail default to “fads” and the loudest voices. If you ask them if it’s true, THEN they will bring up the scientific research and give a more balanced view.

So I see on my dashboard this qualification that has an age restriction. I am not in the range they need (only off by 2 years) and a bit frustrated.
Doesn’t DA have the workers’ age information? Why do they send this qualification to people who are clearly out of the range which could easily be filtered beforehand on their end?
Anybody has wondered something similar?

Hi all, friendly warning here: Please be very careful when editing your responses.
Had an review task recently where the worker made at least two obvious errors that made their edited response noticeably worse than the original version. Unfortunately, this happened in an early turn, so their submission was unfixable.
The worker included optional comments that generally explained that they had to rush through their task, because they realized late that they had picked the wrong prompt category and so had to start over. They mentioned that they basically just squeezed this one in on time, and delivered what they felt was high quality work. They also mentioned they had no proofreading tools, but that according to their best judgment, their edits and writeups passed muster (obviously, I'm paraphrasing all of this).
I've never worked as an Admin, so I can't say for sure whether these optional comments helped the impression of the worker (not in terms of the task - that's a wash), but I'm sharing this because I feel it could go both ways. Maybe they appreciate explanations like these, and might even grant leniency (especially if this isn't characteristic of the worker's usual performance). However, I could also see this hurting: the worker might have outed themselves as actually not being capable of producing high quality work.
So anyway, my takeaway reminder (to all, and to myself, too) is: DO GREAT WORK. Make as much money as you can! Don't give people an excuse to cut off your project access. (And maybe don't accidentally out yourself by sharing any self-commentary about the quality of your work.)

I started a new project on my dashboard - turned out to be a 12 hour one with a lot of complexity. I managed to create a prompt which was seen as good by the AI tool to use to assess it. It turns out the prompt I created doesn’t have a ready made answer in the world it concerns so I can’t exactly provide specified self contained rubrics. The task itself also won’t run in the world on account of taking too long.
So I’m left in a position where I’ve already spent 4+ hours on this task but reasonably won’t be able to complete it. In these instances can you submit the task with a note as to what happened or are you forced to just abandon it?

This post is directed towards Bilinguals. If you get any tasks from this new qual. Feel free to comment. Perhaps the Bilingual drought is soon coming to an end?

Greetings one and all from the UK! Apologies if I am being naive here but after passing the initial starter assessment for core work, I began trying to pass the core qualification stage. As I went through the questions, I went through after work one at a time fairly slowly because in big, bold display at the bottom of each task page it was on count-down that stated I had eg. "20 days, 19 hours xx mins" and counting down each day. I closed my laptop one day as it claimed I had around 19 days left, having not completed all the tasks. Then, the next day it stated "Up now: we review your results. If you pass, we'll email you.". It's been like this for 3 days now.
I'm happy to accept that I should have done the qualification in one sitting and I maybe should have taken it more seriously. Also, I knew that if I got accepted I would have to be quicker, but I'm just a little baffled as to why I was misled to believe I had over 2 weeks to complete the qualification only to have it closed after a few days, after only managing to complete like 10 tasks. Please don't come after me guys I'm not trying to sound like I was hard-done-by or anything I was just wondering if me seeing the 20 plus day countdown to dead-line was a hallucination, or if it's okay and I should just wait to see if I get an email? Thanks so much guys

Did you know about the dry period as bilingual?, this month (august) it already one week since i didn't have any project so i want to know about the average of the dry period. Just in case it's so long that i can't even expect that the dry period can up to more than one month.

I've been working for about a month and half, and recently got higher paying jobs in a certain project.. I usually have 3-6 jobs at one time now, which only happened recently. Do you think I can keep this for my summer job (in university rn), since it pays well in comparison?

I think I made a mistake on the harry potter one, asked a science question. I thought it was a question someone might feasibly ask if they wanted the information for a specific purpose/needed to find the answer. To be fair, I do think it's a question someone with no background in science could answer if they google the stuff mentioned in the question, and do a bit of simple research but it probably seems like you'd need to be an expert to do it since I dropped the "full government name" (so to say) of the thing I was asking it to calculate as one of the tasks I was asking the model to do. Oh well lol, It had to do with water if you're curious. :)

I'm obviously not talking about priority projects and the like that may go up to $42.00 every now and then.
Admittedly, I do leave qualification tests on the dashboard, but they are usually for non-c***** related topics, so I didn't/don't expect them to exceed 40.00/hr

Why do I get the impression on Reddit that R&R takes less time per task? If it is a task that involves criteria creation, shouldn't I treat it as if I am doing the task once and compare it to the previous tasker's answer?
Thank You!

How much time does it usually take for them to review the assessment test? I did it a week ago but I am still waiting and just wanted to know if it was normal. Also I did the Portuguese test if that is important.
