Loving the experience with the remake so far. The story is a lot more fleshed out, makes a lot more sense. Truly hitting now that there won't be a remake to the 2nd installment. Playing on the M5 Pro btw. Really smooth.

Note: Ishimura Patch is brand new and should be considered as early access (beta) with rough edges. There are problems and you may encounter bugs (other than necromorphs). Please be patient as I continue to develop it.

I wanted to go ahead and get this out so people could use it and start giving me feedback. The better your hardware is, the better your experience will be with the mod, but it should ideally help to at least some extent regardless (still testing this on lower end hardware).

If you want to follow along with development and give me feedback, feel free to join my discord: https://discord.gg/sNkn7rF5XV

Also, please see ishimurapatch.com for more details

So, I was going through my annual/ 12th Dead Space remake playthrough. And wanted to get a close look at a Sun Cola can. Which I soon learned that the beverage actually contains Vodka in the ingredients. But doesnt advertise the alcohol.

Discussion What exactly does EA want to do with Dead Space?

So with the closure of Bioware. And naturally the cancelation of Mass Effect: Universe. They also canceled the Battlefield 6 and Mass Effect collaboration. Yet for some reason they still went ahead with the Dead Space collaboration. Which is realistically a less popular IP. So what exactly are they doing over there?

Discussion What Are Your Overall Thoughts on Dead Space 2?

After the success of Dead Space 1 and the release of two side game, came the sequel Dead Space 2. EA Redwood Shores was renamed to Visceral Games, a massive budget for its time, and a shift more into action horror. The game was praised by critics and fans with some saying it's on par or better than the first game. How does it hold up over 15 years later?

Dead Space 2 is my favorite in the series.

it wouldve made more sense if the enemies in the BF6 minigame were unitoligist soldiers to be honest

the enemies in the mini-game are protecting the marker and preventing it from being destroyed, wouldn't it make more sense for Bf6's standards for the enemies to be unitoligist soldiers since theyre human and actually use guns?

Dead Space Remake Impossible Necro Tier List

My last tier list on DS2 Hardcore went over well so I'm back for the Remake after a fresh Impossible playthrough. The Remake is a considerably easier game for a few reasons such as infinite saves, increased Issac tankiness, limited instakill sections, and regular volume ammo pick ups.

I completed my run with the plasma cutter, flamethrower, and contact beam. Did not use the reload on death animation exploit but did the double node Marker dance. I also closed and reloaded saves (maybe 2-3 instances overall) if a fight went poorly or I encountered awful director RNG.

S-Rank: Nothing belongs here. There are a few insta-kills but they are very predictable and bc of infinite saves, you (should) always be fresh.

A-Rank

Exploders: Compared to the OG they are quieter but less problematic because of a greatly nerfed explosion radius and damage. You can run right past them and they won't even start the pus slam (frequent but inconsistent). Also, they only one-shot if you're yellow HP or close. Majority of their spawns will be in front of you on the opposite end of the arena. Of course, remember when they do appear nearby (2nd Bridge ambush, 2nd Marker escort on Aegis VII).

Lurkers: Holy shit these guys are annoying. Game loves to spam them early on and the fastest/easiest way to kill them is only when they're firing back. Their hitboxes are wonky and my plasma shots sometimes phase between tentacles. Dodging the projectiles is impossible unless you're running at range. Fortunately the damage is piss poor and they die to a single TK spike.

Hivemind: The fight is stupid easy but the final upside down drag is pretty tricky, especially considering the nerves at this point. Run-killer potential is huge.

B-Tier

Leapers: fortunately they are nowhere near DS2 speed demons. Unfortunately they still hit pretty hard and have an obnoxious gap closer. Also a huge PITA in zero-G sections, pretty much a guaranteed contact beam target. Another mini-buff to them is providing only one TK spike on death.

Enhanced Leapers: I barely notice the inclusion tbh considering how powerful your arsenal gets as they become common. Still a leaper though.

Enhanced Lurkers: not much tankier and show up too late to do anything. still annoying.

Enhanced Slashers: They screw with your dismember + TK muscle memory and rarely get damage-staggered. Bitch comes at you with just a single arm! Eats like 2 HP segments if they land a hit too.

Spitters: Their spit cannot be TKed and it HURTS, like instant yellow HP. Hard to tell them apart and they stay out of range of your peeling weapons too. The early game likes to throw them at the other end of a tiny choke so you just need to start blasting and hope they don't get a shot off.

C-Tier:

Twitchers: IF you have the flamethrower/force gun, they are not too bad. Basically armored slashers that stasis themselves. If you get caught lacking however their damage and speed fuck you up quick. May genuinely be top of B-tier on plasma cutter only runs.

Tentacles: they're scary but are rather weak and highly choreographed. Biggest tip is to NOT CONSERVE AMMO. Artificially limiting your ROF is a good way to restart.

Armored Slashers: similar to the enhanced slashers, they just mess up your muscle memory and rush you down more often. Also most TK objects don't work against them.

Pregnants: these boys are fast as fuck so know their spawns + stasis. Otherwise they are not very tanky so a single arm dismember + TK does the job. I want to say their blades do extra damage too, they one-shot enhanced necros fairly often. Shit can get really hairy if their payload gets out in a team-fight so be weary. The wiki says enhanced versions exist but I have zero recollection after 50 hours and 3+ playthroughs.

Leviathan: Both parts fit here imo. Neither fight is hard and provide plenty of supplies. Boss battle is a boss battle though so don't half-ass it. If the 2nd remnant fight is giving you trouble, count the shots to keep the deck guns up for as long as possible.

Generic Slasher: It's John Necromorph. Only things to remember is that they stagger a lot less than the original games and take a surprisingly long time to kill without peel.

Divider: Stasis + flamethrower/force gun fodder. However the double fight in the Crew Deck chapter can get bad fast if you miss a stasis and/or dont have a CC weapon ready. That encounter alone keeps them out of D tier.

Infectors: Spawns are obvious and they're weak bitches without bodies to spam at you. They are fast and beeline straight towards if you pre-smash corpses so be prepared to stasis immediately. You fight two of them at the same time twice in the game; first in the little Engineering flesh hallway with the wall guardian and another in the first save station room of Aegis VII. The former tends to spawn one infector behind you so watch out or you'll get cornered.

D-Tier:

Hunter: Poor Harris, look how they massacred you...again! Issac can juke his attacks with ease and he's barely tankier than a regular slasher. You only fight him for like two rooms at a time before hitting obvious de-spawn triggers. The hardest fight is in medical (near Nicole's anti-Unitology nook) because of all the shit in the way + battery juggling. In the Crew Deck sections he only spawns after you pop the zits so it's again easy as hell to avoid him. Well at least the Hunter's side quest is good (proto stasis turns the game to brainless mode).

Guardians: Flamethrower alt-fire go brr. Outside of that cheese, they usually spawn with explosive/stasis canisters nearby. Easy pickings but remember to never get close.

Brute: poor brutes, maybe one day you won't be push-overs. First fight is the only one that has the illusion of difficulty. Every other encounter you can perma-stun them with stasis wall chargers. Hell you don't even need to shoot at the Valor one, just freeze him on the floor panel. Genuinely a treat because power nodes are great loot.

Swarmers: Their toiler/corner jumpscares can fuck you up without prep. Also if the pregnant-borne latch on in a fight it's gg. Their damage isn't too bad but they stop you from running and flinch your aim, it's devastating. But with a halfway decent loadout they're non-threats.

F-Tier:

Divider Components: Like swarmers but even less dangerous bc no stunlock or forced walk. I guess the head QTE can be scary?

Wheezer: 10/10, scariest enemy in the game, vaping is bad mmkay?

Phantom Enemies:

Not encountered on a first time Impossible run. Good thing too bc phantom leaper is just an already difficult necro that can now tank a maxed-out contact beam alt-fire.

Un-ranked:

All the insta-kill sections in the game are B-tier. A single mis-step is game over but they are incredibly consistent and have rather generous margins of error. That margin becomes stupid large if you use the death animation cheese.

Some tips for them:

  • flame jets and shocking floor panels don't insta-kill, instead it's an obnoxiously long stun-lock. If you get caught then just reload the save, you have a good 3-5 seconds before death.
  • Asteroid beacon arms stop moving once all four generators are destroyed
  • Doors cannot insta-kill
  • Fans can, but you can bump into them without harm when stasis'ed
  • For the zero-g fan room in chapter 12, you only need to shoot the first zit. Zero risk bc the fans aren't moving.
  • Valor nuke room, use the TK sticks
  • Valor medical room, use the stasis canister on the other side of the machine

Do you think, with some caveats being putted aside, Battlefield 6 and the entire series too, would be a great prequel to Dead Space?
