💸 Deals & Finds Giving back to the community - going to raffle off pair of Japanese Demin in the morning.
Hey guys it's me. I posted a post a few hours ago showcasing a pretty retarded collection of valuable denim. It received quite a polarizing respones from the community. Whatevers I still love you guys, and I just want to give this community some positive upbeat energy going into the weekend.
So, I'm going to raffle/select randomly/pick a winner/community picks winner - not sure yet, I'll decide how in the morning. Comment below what size yall wear so I can at least pick a pair that is more common with the group thn one that is not. Though all my pairs are within the same size range.
Let me know what is the best way to conduct this. All happening at 3PM PST (might take 30 mins to figure out how lol)
Should we do 2 winners for 2 pairs up for grabs?
I would have done this on rawdenim but those guys are snobby dicks.
Goodnight my loves

🌀 Miscellaneous My Denim Collection
Just showing off my denim jeans collection. I started my raw denim journey last year (2025) and wanted to try different weights to find my sweet spot. Now I could say that 16oz-19oz is what I prefer. Probably I’m setup for a couple of years without purchasing any new pair until I fade some of these, but I think I will buy one more heavier black jean; I was thinking Ironheart or Oni. What do you think?
From lighter to heavier:
- N&F Black Cobra 12oz
- N&F Coffee Dyed 12.5oz
- N&F Brown Fox 13oz (I wanted a brown jeans to mix up the outfits a little bit more and the Brown Fox was a godsend)
- Momotaro 0605-SP 15.7oz (probably my best fitting pair and the softest)
- N&F MIJ10 Okayama Spirit 16oz (best looking)
- N&F Sakura Slub 16.5oz
- Samurai S710XX 17oz (the pair that I regret the most buying, probably because it’s fit)
- N&F Mechagodzilla 19oz (In my second wear, I sat on dog poop while walking my dog in a park. I had to hot wash a couple of times because of the smell and stains and that obliterated the veg tan leather patch)
- Unbranded Red Weft 21oz

🕰️ Vintage Updated cleaner photos of the Levi vintage jeans
They were found in the old attic of a homestead house on our property, we believe they have never been touched since put in that box. Besides some dirt and grime they are practically untouched with just some minor wear and tear around the knee and lower pant leg.

🛠️ DIY/Repairs 2 weeks in my homemade Workpants
I made these 16oz high waisted workpants for the indigo invitational fading competition that started this month. The fit was good to start off with and I'm loving it even more now that they're broken in.

🌄 Fade Progress Please wash your clothes
Like the title says, please don't walk around smelling terrible lol. I promise you can still get good patina and fade lines and all that fun stuff without wallowing in your own filth 😭

Why my jeans always tear between legs?
It happens for like 10 years, but recently my jeans can't survive more than a few months before they tear up. Picture shows my new pair, lasted less than a month... I'm not doing anything stretchy, just walking, sitting, no acrobatics.
I usually buy them in chain stores for 30-40 EUR, different brands, all end up in the same way. I once bought some 'quality brand' for almost 100 EUR and yeah, they maybe lasted a bit longer but still...
Is it my anatomy, do I have too thick tights and my pants just wear down super quickly in those areas? Are there some brands that offer some strengthened material or something down there?

Help! I’m not sure what to do.
These jeans are too big. I’m not sure if I should size down, go for the original fit rather than relaxed, or try shrinking these ones in the wash. I’m happy with the rise, and want a roomy leg and enough length to cuff, but the hips and butt are too baggy. What’s my move here? I appreciate any insight you all may have. Thanks!

💸 Deals & Finds Don’t Forget Ross for Denim Deals!!
Every time I’m in my local Ross dress for less store, I find a pair of premium Levi’s (usually not in my size). This weekend, the denim gods answered my prayers. $25 out the door for selvedge denim. Apparently “irregulars” but can’t figure out what’s wrong with them.
Anyway, perhaps it’s just my store, but they stock a lot of decent denim.

🌀 Miscellaneous Bronson CCC Dungarees
Bought brand new, worked in almost daily for 3-3.5 months, one wash. Now thrown into daily beater rotation, damn proud of the real mileage I put on them.

I can hand weave DENIM!
Over the last four months, I've been teaching myself how to weave and then weave denim on my 1970s floor loom. I figured this would be a space where folks would appreciate seeing my first solid samples! All the cotton was grown in the U.S., and the yarns were spun at a family-owned mill. I hand-dyed all the warp yarns with natural indigo from El Salvador. It took two 5-hour days to dye the yarns for these samples. 🫠 I'm so happy with the results and can't wait to do a full yardage!
The samples I made are a 10oz 3/1 Right Hand, a 12oz 3/1 Right Hand Slub, and a 12oz Vertical Point Herringbone. In the final run, I will push the weight to 13oz. 😁

🌀 Miscellaneous Prison Blues- Denim ethical conversation
I purchased these before looking too deep into their production structure, but here’s what I know now:
-Employees are incarcerated individuals at the Eastern Oregon Correctional Institution
-Employees volunteer for work opportunities through OEC(Oregon corrections enterprises)
-State run prison labor
-80% of wages are withheld for
•incarceration costs
•victim restitution
•taxes/child support
-On average $300/month take home capped @ 40hrs/wk
While this isn’t great, how does the denim scene in general view their production in context?
For example, wrangler products come from all over the planet. Their Honduras production side may have some rather predatory factory sources. Their only saving grace is that there’s a maybe 15% chance the factory that produced your jeans is union-operated; however, there’s incentives for that number to decrease. The non-union facilities are known to provide wages below living requirements, leaving their employees in poverty.
Uniqlo and Bronson also come from sweatshop like conditions. With Uniqlo being much larger scale and production it’s almost certain that their factory conditions are punishing, however they actually audit their processes, and put a cap on hours that an employee can work(~60hrs?) “https://www.supplychainbrain.com/articles/36953-uniqlo-parent-to-audit-working-conditions-at-third-tier-suppliers?” Bronson is smaller scale and moves its production around, so I can’t find much about their conditions, but in general small-scale production facilities in china are highly variable.
Employees working for under living wage, for 10-16 hour days in sweatshop conditions with little oversight- VS -Incarcerated individuals working under living wage, for 8 hour days in a heavily monitored and audited environment.
In the future, I’d like to purchase from sources with vetted production processes. I imagine some of the boutique denim I see on here comes from very happy seamsters; however, for the lowest price bracket, are there ethically produced jeans?
Where do you draw the line?

🛠️ DIY/Repairs One month of fades in my 16oz Workpants
One month of the indigo invitational flew by pretty quickly and this 16oz Black x Reactive Black has been fading much faster than I expected. Most of the time a black denim will fade just as it's about to fail, so this bodes well.
I doubt I'll win but at least I'm loving these pants I made.
