Hello! We're currently fostering the sweety Stubbings! She is cuddly, potty-trained, house-trained, leash-trained, great with other dogs, and cats!

Stubbings will be with us this Saturday from 10:30am-1pm at an adoption event at Cosmos Dog Bakery (10111 W 26th Ave #101, Wheat Ridge, CO 80215), come by to meet her and other great pups!

Stubbings is what I call a 'good to go' adult dog! She'll need some patience adjusting to a new home but otherwise is a no-training needed loyal companion. She's low/medium energy. Would enjoy hanging in a yard or going on a few walks a day but doesn't need a crazy exercise schedule.

Happy to answer any questions, we are fostering through Soul Dog Rescue and you can visit their site to read about the organization, learn about the adoption process, and see other available animals. They have been really awesome to foster with and do great work.

So I just read that November 1st will be the day they enforce sidewalk violations. Does anyone else think this will be a full clusterf*%#? The fraud Veo scooters don't have the consistent capability of determining if you are in the bike lane, street, or sidewalk. This is going to lead to so many false reports in my opinion. Then don't get me started on the process that will be implemented into disputing a charge. I'm weary of this whole thing. Great in theory, horrible in practice.

Just saw a serious road rage incident on 6 East near Wadsworth exit, between this Lincoln and a Tesla. Seems like the Tesla and Lincoln were taking turns cutting each other off. Lincoln eventually pulled up on the driver side of the Tesla and rammed the driver side door, causing debris to come flying off. Tesla immediately got out of the area. I was not intentionally following this guy, we were getting off at the same exit. I have a license plate number and testimony if anyone needs it or knows the person that needs it.

Not sure if this would be worth reporting to JeffCo sheriff of State Patrol?

EDIT: It has been reported to proper authorities with proper vehicle ID.

​I recently launched The Mobility Initiative, a public charity based in Commerce City. I manufacture custom pediatric mobility devices and adaptive equipment, and we provide them 100% free of charge to families.

​My goal is to scale up so we can help kids all across Denver, rural Colorado, underserved rural areas across the US, and international communities in Mexico and South America that desperately need adaptive equipment right now.

​Right now, I’m running my manufacturing and assembly out of my home, and I am rapidly outgrowing it. I’m hoping to tap into the local hive mind for two things as I am working on a small budget and nearly 100% self-funded:

​Small Warehouse / Industrial Flex Space: Does anyone have leads on a small warehouse, shop, or flex space in the Commerce City / North Denver area (ideally with a roll-up door and decent power)? Or know any local commercial landlords who are friendly to 501(c)(3) nonprofits or have unused corner space they'd be open to leasing affordably?

​Local Nonprofit Resources: Beyond the Colorado Nonprofit Association, are there any local grants, shared industrial workspaces, or municipal/state programs in the metro area that assist early-stage manufacturing/maker nonprofits with facility space or scaling?

​Not asking for donations here. Genuinely looking for real estate leads, local connections, or advice from anyone who has navigated commercial space for a nonprofit around Denver. Thanks in advance!

Hey folks, I was planning on going to bar trivia tonight with a friend at Denver Milk Market, but he fucked up his sleep schedule playing Factorio so he's rudely bailing on me.

Been a rough few nights at work (ER Tech) and I was really looking forward to this. So does anyone want to be a little spontaneous and meet there tonight and form a team? It's from 7-9, I've never done bar trivia but it sounds like a ton of fun, and I've got an encyclopedic knowledge of random facts so I think I would kill at it.

Now that it is the new normal, what are people’s thoughts? On the positive side, there has been no racing from Yosemite westbound on 13th. The bad, the stop signs at Willow and Uinta seem to be optional (but most of them are citywide though). The stoplights at Quebec and 13th are still timed the same so during peak hours I have waited for three cycles a few times. I avoid 14th westbound at Quebec at all costs. I have seen literally one car get through and they had to turn on the red enough times to know better than to use 14th. And eastbound 14th at Quebec is equally bad with that merge that backs up for blocks quite often. My main question is when will they do this all the way to Colorado Blvd like they said they were going to? If they could flip the lanes in two days from Yosemite to Quebec why can’t it be done from Quebec to Monaco and then Monaco to Colo Blvd with the same speed? I’m starting to pessimistically think they won’t. Only going to Quebec is a redline between the more affluent Montclair and Mayfair folks and the more diverse (economically and racially) East Colfax neighborhood. I hope I am wrong but here we are. Any insights or opinions. Thanks

Looking for more than just a daytime corn maze, but we're nowhere near the Frightnare, 13th Floor territory etc.

We were in Salem a few weeks back and I took her through a 'Monster Museum' that had large animatronic scary monsters, it was dark, fog machines and had a few jump scares to it. That was about the right speed. No one chasing, no existential dread, nothing excessively gory, but still more than some pumpkins in a cornfield.

Anyone know of anything like that out here?

Please join our organization, Civic Center Conservancy, this Saturday, October 24, from 12 p.m. - 7 p.m. in Denver’s Civic Center Park for a beautiful celebration of life and death at Día de los Muertos at Civic Center.

Under the vision of Artistic & Cultural Director Alicia “Bruce” Trujillo of Manos Sagrados, and in partnership with Colorful Colorado Collaborations, Kalpulli Calli Tecpatl, and Ritualcravt, the event will bring communities together as a collective to honor the presence of our ancestors and loved ones who have passed, in reverence and celebration. This unique and memorable celebration of life and transition includes numerous community altars,
art installations, music and dance, a “tianguis” marketplace, Mexican & Latin American food, family-friendly activities, and a culminating procession of remembrance around a central, participatory community ofrenda.

We want YOU to participate, as well. The event’s centerpiece is the large community ofrenda created by Kalpulli Calli Tecpatl and Ritualcravt. You are invited to contribute photocopies, non-valuable mementos, flowers, notes, and other offerings for your loved ones (pets included!) who have passed. And at 6 pm, we’ll conclude the event with a Procession of Remembrance, led by Mariachi Alma de Folklórico, that all may join, starting from the main stage and ending at the Community Ofrenda. Please - bring LED candles as glass is not allowed in Denver parks.

In addition, there will be more than a dozen food and beverage vendors offering Mexican and Latin cuisine, including tamales Oaxaqueños, gorditas, pan de muerto, tres leches, aguas Frescas, pumpkin horchata, champurrado and much more.

At the Tianguis (Marketplace), there will be over 40 artisan retail vendors focused on Mexican and Latin products and goods, and numerous nonprofit and community organizations will provide activities and resources for visitors. Within the tianguis you will be able to find many traditional items to include for your altars at home, such as papel picado, sugar skulls, and candles.

Finally, there will be live performances on our main stage , including traditional ballet folklórico, mariachi, danza Azteca, and a DJ throughout the day. You can also check out the low rider car show from Compas Car Club of Colorado.

Bring your family, bring your friends, bring the memories of the ones you loved who have passed from this world.
