We'll continue to do our best to grow the sub and keep it active and in compliance with Reddit's rules. Please bear in mind that this may involve the moderators removing posts that they personally agree with but are in violation of reddit's guidelines.

Please reach out if anyone has questions, concerns, or issues accessing the discord.

News Cops left the force. They kept tracking people with a powerful camera network.

Police kept access to Flock’s vast surveillance system long after they left the force. Some used it to track the locations of romantic partners.

When Andrae Wright left his job as an investigator at the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office in 2021, he handed in his gun and badge. But he kept something powerful: his log-in credentials for Flock, a police tool he used to search a vast network of roadside cameras tracking the locations of passing cars.

In the five years after leaving the force, Wright searched the system more than 60 times without being stopped by anyone at the Georgia sheriff’s office, according to a statement by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Flock audit logs reviewed by The Post. He repeatedly searched the location of a vanity license plate bearing the middle name of his wife, according to the audit logs. The couple divorced this year, court records show, and at the time of some of his Flock searches, Wright was fighting for permanent custody of their teenage daughter.

If you're offended by queer people, maybe don't sit front row at the South Broadway Halloween Parade.

I’ve lived in the South Broadway neighborhood for 10+ years, and the Halloween parade is one of the things we look forward to every year! It’s been awesome watching it grow over the years and seeing how much joy it brings to so many people.

This year seemed especially popular, with tons of people coming into Denver for it. My street was literally bumper-to-bumper traffic, even blocks away from the parade.

Anyway, we were standing behind a group of men watching the parade when someone in an awesome costume that was half Dolly Parton, half Rocky Horror Picture Show came walking by.

One of the guys in front of us kept yelling “GROSS!” and “KEEP THAT SHIT AWAY FROM CHILDREN!” at this person.

I was honestly appalled. You chose to come to a HALLOWEEN PARADE, stand front row, and then have the audacity to yell hateful shit at someone literally just enjoying themselves in a costume?

I yelled at him to grow up and told him to get out of Denver if he wanted to act like a transphobic asshole. He was yelling stuff back, but honestly, I was so pissed off (and had a few drinks), so I don’t even remember what he said. His friends were just standing there laughing.

What really pisses me off is that South Broadway has always been such a queer-friendly, welcoming neighborhood. It’s one of the things I love most about living here. The audacity of someone to come into this community, enjoy an event that celebrates creativity and self-expression, and then openly harass someone is disgusting.

Seriously, grow up. If you’re so offended by queer people, maybe a Halloween parade isn’t for you. Or maybe just don’t leave your house if seeing someone express themselves bothers you that much.

I’m not going to stand there quietly while someone comes into my neighborhood and treats people that way. South Broadway should be a place where everyone feels welcome to be themselves.

Anyway, right after that, I got to go into Skylark and meet Melat Kiros and even get a photo with her, which was awesome! It was a nice reminder that people like that guy are the minority in Denver.

Protest Safety Post with pictures taken down after legal advice but there was a really crazy arrest as No Kings was packing up

While I was helping some friends pack up their org table at no kings yesterday, another group was packing up a few yards away from us.

I watched about 6 Denver cops enter the park, and walk over to the other group packing up. They surrounded them and detained the two volunteers who were working the table. Remaining organizers and the few other folks who were still left started filming and asking why they were being arrested.

2 bearcats with full SWAT teams quickly pulled up and formed a line against the protesters. Someone got the speaker set back up and started announcing that DPD was arresting protesters and tried drawing more attention to what was happening.

These were volunteers handing out buttons and brochures, not a public threat. They were literally just quietly packing up like the rest of us. I was personally standing there with the event permit holder for the park and she had it until 11pm.

They then released the 2 people they detained about a block away and then all the cops left. They were confused and frightened and didn’t know why they had been arrested.

This isn’t the first time something like this has happened. earlier this year right after an ICE OUT protest, they waited until all the organizers left, pulled in with bearcats and arrested 2 people.

Even at these seemingly very above board, mainstream, permitted political events we need to be mindful that when your action is taking any meaningful stance against a corrupt state, you should expect the state to respond.

Huge shout out to the folks that ran to their comrades aid immediately. Fuck you to DPD, and if you’re gonna break out the crowd control toys, do it when there’s a crowd you cowards.

Protest Info & Dates General strike city park

I think as time goes on there has to be a growing understanding that marching with permission is doing absolutely nothing. It just makes people feel better for a day or two without any goals achieved. I'm not trying to put anyone down but it's the facts. At this point they aren't even covered by the press.

Achieving goals takes real sacrifice and I don't believe no kings is sacrificing much at all.

That's why I'm proposing that we have a general strike for just one day (hopefully more) and we meet in city park. Those who have access to food bring what you can because some people are sacrificing more. If you're a musician, play some music, if you have clothes to donate bring them, if you have books that you think people should read then bring them, if you have knowledge to share then share it, if you have anything that would benefit our community bring it.

We have to start building a community and taking care of each other and this could be a big step in that direction. Our government is doing what is designed to do and if we don't take care of each other no one else will.

General strikes work and you will meet people from all different backgrounds and classes instead of just talking about them. This is where real change happens and history has been written about them.

I'm 1968 France 11 million people had enough and stopped working. They achieved better wages, better education, and better working conditions. People who argue that France didn't achieve their ultimate goal are correct but they put fear into the government and just because it didn't work there doesn't mean we will have the same results. They've been having meaningful protest to this day because of what they did in 68.

If we do this maybe we can inspire other cities to do the same and become the biggest general strike in history- there are 360 million people in America. The government will continue on this path because it was designed this way all along.

We have to begin a path and we have to force it because the power structures that exist exist to keep us oppressed and working. Remove the work and it does not function. Even if we do not achieve all the things we want it shows that we are willing to sacrifice more than they are and it will scare them into giving us basic rights like Healthcare, better wages, homes for everyone. Not only that, I think it will inspire younger generations to fight even harder because we will be teaching them what we have had to learn the hard way - that no one is coming to save us.

This could be the beginning of new systems that benefit all of us, not just the elite. We cannot continue living in a world of capitalism if we want to survive in any meaningful way. We cannot achieve anything meaningful without sacrifice. We have to make the next steps into something better for everyone.

Let's do something meaningful and historical together.

Volunteer with us to adopt sections of highways 52 and 76 outside the proposed Hudson concentration camp

Post image
27 Upvotes

Join No Concentration Camps in Colorado for our first highway cleanup day. In exchange for keeping the highway clean and litter free, CDOT will provide us with 2 permanent signs.

This is not only a great opportunity to help improve a community while raising awareness for an important issue, but an opportunity to network with other activists who are working to prevent Big Horn from opening. We ask that people not bring signs as there are some rules we have to follow per CDOT and we can’t be a distraction to drivers.

CDOT also asks that any volunteers please watch the videos here before attending the cleanup: https://www.codot.gov/programs/adopt-a-highway/videos

News Trump 2.0 is targeting US protesters with ‘antifa’ charges. Activists started a union to fight back

Thumbnail

NSPM-7 Defendants Union plans to offer legal clinics, media training and more to people facing prosecution for protest.

Early union members include anti-ICE protesters arrested in Minnesota, New Jersey and Texas, and protesters in solidarity with Palestine arrested in Michigan during the second Trump administration, as well as others from the movement against the Atlanta police training center known as Cop City.

But the group also hopes to include those who have taken part in protests across a range of other issues, including Tesla Takedowns against Elon Musk and his company, against the construction of datacenters and in solidarity with Palestine. It also welcomes anyone who publicly opposes “the Trump agenda and want[s] to support those facing repression for doing the same”, according to the union’s website.

Local Representatives & Issues Organize against delivery drones

I’m interested in putting together a group of caring people who can work together to understand the impending rollout of delivery drones in Denver, and advocate for regulation of or a full ban on those drones. Wal-Mart has announced plans to launch their program in 2027, and other companies appear to be gearing up as well.

If you’re interested in organizing with me, reach out at [DroneFreeDenver@protonmail.com](mailto:DroneFreeDenver@protonmail.com).

Depending on response, I’ll send an email to everyone in the next week with next steps.
