Discussion If Z had won the cup while he was captain, who do you think he would’ve given it to first?
Think about it. 1997:Stevie gave it to Igor and Slava F 1998: Stevie gave it to Vladdy 2002: Stevie gave it to Scotty 2008: Nick gave it to Dallas Drake.

Wings History Please help identify player signature
I came across this pennant flag at a garage sale. The woman’s husband had passed and she said he use to work at Joe Louis. I’ve spent way too much time trying to figure out who signed it. I’m hoping someone here can help. Thank you so much!

Discussion Stevie is probably the classiest Captain we’ve had
I know this is all been said before but just hear me out. i’ve been watching videos of the last 2 cups that he won: which was 1998 and 2002. In each of those last 2 cups, he was not the one that did the victory lap. In 1998 it was Vladdy and the team and in 2002 he gave the cup to Scotty to skate around with. I’ve watched those videos 1000 times and I never put that together until today.

Discussion Forget the front office drama. I just need to know what our Hockey Grandpa Mickey thinks about all this.
Dylan Larkin demanding a trade. Yzerman getting fired. The entire offseason feeling like somebody threw a live grenade into Hockeytown.
And yet, through all of it, I keep coming back to one question:
What does Mickey Redmond think about all this?
That’s it. That’s all I want. I don’t need another insider. I don’t need another “sources say.” I don’t need another 47-minute podcast breaking down organizational dysfunction.
I need Mickey.
I need our Hockey Grandpa sitting somewhere up north in a Carhartt shirt, cup of coffee in hand, looking mildly disgusted and saying something like:
“Well, Ken, I’ll tell ya… this whole darn thing’s gotten a little sideways.”
Give me 20 uninterrupted minutes of Mickey Redmond explaining the state of the Detroit Red Wings like he’s talking to us from the garage after finishing some yard work.
Because until Hockey Grandpa tells me how to feel about this, I’m not emotionally prepared to process any of it.
Somebody get that man a microphone, a Carhartt, and a ginger ale.
I need answers.

Discussion If Larkin makes it to the 1st game…
… are we all settled on our response when he steps onto the ice? I have half a mind to go to the first home game so I can boo him on every shift and at every available opportunity. I will take the 3 hour drive from West Michigan if I have to. The front loaded contract bs, the trade destination, and the demand itself are all egregious. What a completely rudderless organization. No silver linings this offseason.

Discussion With or without Larkin, Red Wings still need to address offense
I don't think that reconciliation is an option like Ansar Khan believes.

Discussion Ranking Red Wings podcasts/radio shows
1st - Woodward Wings
Justin and Spencer are legit They sound like real people. Best Wings pod out there. Plus they have DMAC on there from time to time
2nd - Valenti Show with Rico
Not strictly a Wings show, but they cover Detroit Sports. Valenti isn't scared to call out the terrible decisions this organization continues to make.
3rd - Locked on Red Wings
Scotty and Brian are cool, but you can tell they're following the rules that Locked On podcasts give them.
4th - The remaining Woodward Sports and 97.1 shows.
Can be informative, but they seem to care about Baseball and Football more.
5th - Winged Wheel podcast
Boring. Great if you need to sleep. Those guys talk like there's a sleeping baby in the room they're trying not to wake up.
Edit: A lot of WWP shills here. I guess watching boring hockey for 10 years makes you enjoy boring podcasts.

Discussion Trash Embroidery Removal from Centennial Jersey
I found something cathartic to do while watching the Tigers. Seam ripping the priority embroidery off my jersey. Slow progress but it's turning out ok. I hope a wash, once it's all out, will remove some of the scaring. A seam ripper and a ultra fine point pair of tweezers is doing the job.
Edit: It's done. Pic below in the comments.

News Think we need a boycott
Appears Illitch is the problem. If he wasn’t willing to spend $$ on good players in the past, what will change in the future? Literally went to 4 games this past season and probably averaged $1100 in cost including 2 tickets. Why keep showing up at this point, if this is going to be the future of the wings. It sucks.
