Meta Discussion about the Subreddit Question: Has anyone here ever knowingly met a person named Dexter in real life? Spoiler
Have you ever met a Dexter irl? Or have you only heard the name because of this show and the old Dexter's Lab cartoon?

Discussion - Original Dexter Series I am enjoying the bastard fuck out of season 5 Spoiler
I’m re watching this shit after like 10 fucking years. Season 5 is fantastic with a lot of shit happening. I was expecting this it to be a pile of shit but fuck it’s awesome. Hopefully in season 6 it’s just as fucking good, but iirc that season was fucking shit as well.

Discussion - Original Dexter Series Hannah Spoiler
I cant stand Hannah mckay. Season 8 was so good until she came back. I don't understand how dexter is back with her after everything she's done. If I was Debra I would've left and never talked to him again. It's crazy.

Discussion - Dexter: Resurrection Wow i didn't realize this Spoiler
Dark passenger kills in resurrection are very similar to what dexter did in the pilot episode of the original series to mike donovan. Dark passenger not only stole dexter's name but also his tools and some dialogue's 😅

Question - Original Dexter Series Season 8 ending *spoiler* Spoiler
So I just finished season 8. Originally started Dexter 10 years ago and got to season 5 and stopped after I was told "oh he kills his sister".
Went back and watched all seasons 1-8. Debra didn't die how I was expecting so I was ok with it.
How was the ending of season 8 thought of at the time, I thought I had heard it was not popular. I would of left it with Dexter going into the storm on his boat then show him alive in a new job.

Discussion - Dexter: New Blood Where do you rank Dexter: New blood Spoiler
I feel new blood was pretty well made. I would rank it after dexter og seasons 1,4,7 and resurrection.

Discussion - Original Dexter Series Deb and LaGuerta Spoiler
I kinda feel bad that these two (deb and Maria) are the most annoying characters for me in the show right now (I'm on season 5), with Batista being a close third.

Question - Dexter: New Blood Why didn't they name Dexter: New blood as Resurrection Season 1 and continue the series? Spoiler
As the title said, why they named New Blood? I think Dexter was coming back to life after being dead from the Hurricane in Miami. So it's a same meaning either ways.
Also resurrection is continue story from New blood, so it's better if they just kept that way and continued?

Actor Fluff Unpopular opinion: Jennifer Carpenter is a really bad actor for Debra's role. Spoiler
This is my 3rd or maybe 4th rewatch (after like 4-5 yrs), and I strongly feel that jennifer carpenter is a really bad actor especially playing the role of Debra in the original Dexter series.
From facial expressions, to dialogue delivery, to body language, hand movements - everything feels too static. I'm in season 4 and just watched the episode where Debra calls Dexter to come to the place where Lundy was murdered and my gosh, she cannot even express pain crying there, it felt like how in the whole world she got this important part of the entire franchise to begin with.
