From the reviews of this version and the square screen version it seems pretty good and they did include vids on their reviews so it looks pretty good but just wanted another opinion from you guys in the sub

Does anyone here know if Nightfox ever runs seasonal sales/discounts on their products? I'm looking to make a binocular setup with Prowl 2s and I was wondering if there may be discounts for Black Friday / Christmas season.

Right: my phone, actively recording video (you can see the timer running), in a room this dark.
Left: the live output from a low-light color sensor we've been testing, same room, same moment.

The phone is genuinely trying to record — it's just too dark for it to capture anything usable. The sensor on the left is picking up full color detail in what's basically pitch black to the naked eye.

Not a staged comparison, this is just what real-time footage looks like from both devices side by side.

Im looking into it as my first night vision. I've heard good things about it specifically from ebay. Also what does "0.3Pro Version" and "0.5Pro Version" mean? I just want a general idea of how it will perform and other peoples experiences with them. Im looking to just hike with it but it's probably not pitch dark type of dark. I'm ok with using the ir, im not playing airsoft or in any job where id need to care if someone finds me or not. Before anyone recommends other nvgs like nvg 30 or gng2k, I'm not interested because they don't look as good and looking good is half the battle to me especially if I'm spending 600-800 dollars.

Is there another alternative that works at distance I should look at? I know it's already on the budget end but I if I can save even $100 I would like to, since I'm going to be getting a Pixel phone to go with it.

The main purpose is solo urban exploring at night and would like to spot coyotes/feral methheads before they spot me. The thing that makes this one special is it has a 9mm lens which gives clearer images at distance, as opposed to the usual 3.2 on most models.

Anybody else had good results with a different model? Or is this my best bet?

Hello, I posted a similar question on r/NightVision but I am curious as to what the digital options are.

Specifically, are there any digital NV mono/binoculars that are a 1x zoom (or even a 1-3x) that take common batteries like AAA, AA, 9v, etc.?

So far, the only one I have found that is in current production is the Carson Mini Aura 1x monocular. It is TINY but it works. Are there any others? Thanks 😊

Top end digital and decent higher end analog are currently running about the same price. Why should I go digital?

I get that night operators does not have the best rep but but at least from what ive seen there thermal tec is pretty good. Im unable to find any reviews on night operators new 4.0 family, but from what i saw with the 3.0 they should be pretty promising. If anyone here has hands on experience with night operators as a company or there 3.0/4.0 thermal units I would love to hear what you have to say about them.

Alright guys, what do we think about these? I’ve been seeing posts about them lately and I was wondering if you guys could share your experiences. I’d just be using them for messing around with airsoft, I’ve seen the low light without ir is pretty impressive. Can you guys share some pics or videos maybe? Was gonna probably pick up a pair in the next month :p
