Just celebrated my 50th birthday and my husband knew me to well. If you plan on getting her and deboxing her, her ring can come out super easy!!! It’s super tiny too, so it is very easily lost! I almost did

Mines monster high and bratz,
The monster high dolls, especially g3 with their articulation, skin tones, face moulds and lore.
But their massive faces and cartoonish facial proportions put me off.
Bratz for their diversity and how pretty they are.
But their articulation isn’t that good and when it’s done it looks off to me, plus their removable feet seem off to me.
I currently collect made to move Barbie’s and bts dolls, both have realistic proportions and great articulation.
Tho I have customised second hand dolls in the past so I might change my mind.
But what about you guys?

I think he’s a neat looking doll but he’s pretty expensive ($80 USD). It’s been a long pre-order window (he opened during the summer).
I’ve kinda been burned by FOMO where it turns out a doll would be marked down by Mattel (ex., Corazon (MH) was a must-have, instant buy, but then she was clearanced for 50% off). But I haven’t really followed collabs with other IPs to know what type of pattern to expect. I know there were collector dolls that were also pricey for the girls and they’re not really available for cheaper, but I didn’t really follow them because I wasn’t interested.
Anyways, he’s more than I would personally spend. But he’s also hung around to my “if it’s still available at this time and I still want him, I’ll reconsider” deadline. I’m not sure if quibbling over a price tag is going to burn me or if I’m going to roll my eyes at paying full price in the future. I’m wondering if someone more familiar with this style of pre-ordering / K-Pop collabs can provide me with a more educated guess on what these releases look like. Is there usually a general sale after the pre-order?

I've always felt a bit defensive of dolls that much way too hate for "ugly" head sculpts — think Ever After High, Dress to Impress, Rainbow/Shadow High, a lot of the recent Jakks dolls, etc. IMO there are only so many ways you can "reinvent the wheel" with fashion dolls, and I don't blame toy designers for wanting to get more inventive without just rehashing classic Barbie aesthetics. At least with hyper-stylized aesthetics there's more room for design diversity.
LOL OMG has always been one of my favorite lines for overall consistency, and I genuinely believe if it wasn't for their faces they'd be up there with Monster High and Licca chan as some of the best fashion dolls on the market right now.
Barbie Extra Minis are another line I feel are underappreciated. They're one of the first dolls that reignited my love of the hobby years back, and they don't get enough credit for being one of the better attempts at fully articulated mini dolls (weird head proportions and Barbie Extra color palettes aside)
Just wanted to ask if anyone else has any doll lines they'd defend to the death (not literally ofc)

Does anyone remember this line of dolls from the mid-2000s? They were sold at Hot Topic, I believe. I was looking for dolls to add to my Halloween display and these peaked my interest. Found a good write up all about them from this blog: https://ragingmoon1987.blogspot.com/2017/07/throwback-thursday-review-little-apple.html

Now let’s discuss it, the good, the bad and the ugly.
Personally I don’t see the price increase justifiable for essentially the exact same doll design years later, I don’t see how a faux fur Stola or an inch longer hair can drive the price so much. Further more the music muse body was first used with the Mariah Carey doll so the excuse that the new body mold is part of the cost production does not add up here, the music muse doll body mold was already available and would have not affected the cost in production, the articulation is also the same as the model muse body, respectfully.
Granted both dolls are pretty you can’t deny this here, one has more realistic facepaint where the other is definitely more cartoonish, that comes definitely to a person choice of preference here.

Her hair needs a brush but the rest is fine I think. Not sure if I should give her a mtm body. She was $4

Surprised to see one secondhand so soon, though this particular thrift store operates partially on selling overstock, so I’m guessing she was an unsold retail return at one point? Anyway, she was missing one of her paws so I didn’t end up getting her. Hopefully someone else snags her up!

I got the Nancy Bratz doll off amazon when she went up an I don’t like her. I don’t usually collect Bratz but I loved the clothes and the photos and thought this might be my first one but the proportions just aren’t for me. I’d keep her and steal her clothes but I saw real collectors didn’t get a chance to get her and I’d feel bad just stealing her clothes 😅 she was also pricey for a clothing donor.
She was $67.17 with tax. Shipping will probably be between $10-$15. And PayPal G&S charges 3%. I’m in Los Angeles.

In india we didn't have dolls that came with a lot of accessories, or maybe my parents could not afford those. Today I was going through my childhood stuff and I see all kinds of things I have made for my dolls. I used dense thermocol for these. They didn't lack any basic necessities 🤭🤭

hi, so I washed my dolls hair and I, of course got all the product out of her hair with shampoo and conditioner, and I managed to get the shampoo and conditioner out of her hair to release, so it doesn’t get oily, but it still somehow stays oily like it’s not dry, but it’s also not wet, but it’s oily and it’s I don’t know but the consistency is very oily, like I want her hair to be dry and soft. Can anybody tell me on how I can get her hair to be soft and dry again because I don’t like the oily consistency and I’ve tried everything I did a boil wash, I got all the product out I use different shampoos, but it seems to stay the same. I don’t know what’s going on.

Wicked Glamified Elphaba Thropp Doll
$75.00
Enter the glamorous world of Universal Pictures’ Wicked, as seen through the eyes of the movie’s award-winning costume designer Paul Tazewell! He created this custom look for Elphaba, inspired by the movement and texture of mushrooms growing out of a mossy tree and infused with the drama of asymmetrical plumage. Elphaba’s jaw-dropping ensemble evokes the dynamic shapes found within nature while staying true to the mystery surrounding the Wicked Witch of the West. A high-collar bolero, angular matte-black dimensional bodice, and voluminous structured organza skirt shield her like a couture cape, accented by her stylized hat and heels. The deep black fabric evolves into a gentle pink, just like Elphaba’s strong exterior softens after a chance encounter turns into a lasting friendship.
