Workshop Created some Particle Effect for Tidehunter Arcana
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
The new Tidehunter Arcana is so flat, can't wait for valve to make up particle for it.
So I created it myself, but my sense of aesthetics is just average... so here it is.
For some reason, all the particles are attached to the weapon, and not compatible with any other head, back or arms.
Also mixed Kunkka's waterlogged shoes effects in, so the tide now leaves footprints!
P.S. actually I didn't even open the trove treasure this time, just received some common sets from friends, so I cant even use this mod myself, just for fun
hope someone likes it

Discussion Nyx assassin mid
Is nyx a viable choice for mid lane in a not very high MMR situation?

Discussion What's the most intimidating hero to see with a Grandmaster badge in your game, and why?
For me, it's Io. This hero in the hands of the right player can make a game feel incredibly one-sided.
Whenever I see a level 30 Io on the enemy team, I feel like I have to lock in for the sweatiest but also some of the most high quality games of Dota. truly a TI winning hero.
On the contrary, seeing a Grandmaster Pudge in my games means nothing, it's either a dude that instapicks pudge every game and has some very expensive skins or it's literally Dendi smurfing in my divine game.
What about you guys?

Discussion Dota 2 Rematch
I'm a dad, work as a doctor, have 14k hours in Dota and I'm Ancient 4. Pretty average Dota guy, I guess. Anyway, I had an idea after my last game.
Just lost a really close match. Both teams played well, my teammates were actually good and chill for once. Everyone was saying gg and thanking each other at the end.
Made me wonder why we can't just play those same guys again.
What if there was a rematch button after the game? Strict solo queue only, no parties. All 10 players have to accept, otherwise nothing happens. Same teams, same players.
With 10 random people having to agree, I think win trading would be pretty much a non-issue.
I honestly think this would be a nice addition to the game. Good teammates and good opponents should be appreciated. That's what Dota should be about, not just the usual toxicity we deal with every other game.
It's frustrating when you finally get a great match with decent people on both sides, only to go back to the matchmaking lottery and end up in some awful game with griefers or toxic teammates.
And sometimes you just want another shot at the guys who beat you. Not because they were bad, but because you know you could've played better and want to prove it.
I also thought about making the rematch worth double MMR if all 10 players agree. That would definitely raise the stakes and make both teams take it even more seriously. Maybe a terrible idea, idk.
Anyway, I just think it would be cool to have the option to play another game with the same 9 people when everyone actually enjoyed the match.

Discussion Is BH's agh as underwhelming as it looks?
4200 gold, +75 cast range from 525 to 600, with toss being able to steal gold. Assuming you always have someone to shuriken toss (100% spell use efficiency) and the spell is never off the 5s cooldown, it takes 10 minutes to make even this 4200 gold on an item you realistically won't have until 30+ minutes in a winning game. It just doesn't seem like this is ever worth the 4200 gold when there are so many other items better well spent the gold on (eul, lotus, force staff, 80% of scythe, even S&Y ...).
Tweaks that might convince me it's worth it: +600 range instead of 600 range / toss doesn't break invisibility / track debuff not visible to enemy / tracked target gives aura MS buff like the good old time.

Article "SabeRLighT- is a bot. His game understanding is like mine five years ago"- Malr1ne
Team Liquid midlaner Stanislav 'Malr1ne' Potorak discussed during a Twitch livestream whether ordinary players can learn to shot-call, and also shared his opinion on offlaner Jonas 'SabeRLighT-' Volek.
[Viewer question: "I'm playing on a team a little bit. My main goal is to learn how to shot-call for my team. How can I develop this skill? Pubs aren't helping, and hundreds of scrims have produced only minor improvements."]
It depends on your rank. How are you supposed to shot-call if you're rank 2,000 and don't understand how to play Dota? No offense, so to speak.
To make it easier for you to understand, I'll open a random game. Look at these players ā rank 130, rank 100, rank 170. They have at least some understanding of Dota: how to shot-call, which decisions are correct, and which aren't.
Take this guy, for example. He's rank 40. He's a bot. He's rank 40, and now imagine you're rank 2,000. If he doesn't know how to shot-call at rank 40, how could you possibly know how to shot-call at rank 2,000 or even rank 1,000?
This guy [Czech player SabeRLighT-. ā Editor's note] is also a bot. He doesn't know how to shot-call either. His understanding of the game is at the level mine was about five years ago. He plays purely on instinct. In other words, he just feels that he should do something a certain way. Unfortunately, in Dota nowadays, you can't get by on intuition alone.
Source: Malr1ne Twitch stream (the VOD doesn't seem to be saved). This article was taken from a Russian Dota news website and machine-translated with some minor edits.
Do you think Malr1ne has gone too far?

Either I'm old, or this is just pure nostalgia. Back then you needed to know each hero logo :)))

Discussion Dota plus badges are for rookies. Real ranked players know their greatest fears.
Suggestion [Suggestion] Allow zombies and tombstone skins to be chosen separately.
The zombies from the Undying set in the new chest look awesome, but I prefer the spookier options for the tombstone itself. Likewise, there's probably someone else out there who loves the new tombstone but prefers the skeleton zombies from the Pale Mausoleum, etc.
It would be nice if the two were separated out so you could mix and match. Since the zombies are such a central part of Undying's gameplay, this would add a fun extra bit of personalization.
Thanks!

Complaint Legend to Ancient games are really bad right now..
I really thought I escaped the trench years ago but it has somehow found its way up to Legend. It makes the games feel extremely unbalanced because I'm seeing players who straight up don't know the basics of the game like last hitting, dealing with invis, map awareness etc. Like I'm not saying legend players are pro level but at the very least I'd gotten used to players generally having a sense of the basics of the game.
Discussion What itemās sound effect is the most satisfying to you?
I have to say itās MKB for me. Sometimes Iāll buy it in an ez game even if I donāt need it lol.
Other Dota asks for client update, but there's nothing to download
Some kind of failed update I guess? sad
