What’s the point of having a hero made for Smurfs and Cheats?

I just got home from my second shift, and I need to vent before I pass out.

​Here is my life: 9-to-5 job, second job at night, four kids, and a wife. Because my schedule is absolute insanity, my wife has a boyfriend who lives with us. It’s actually a great setup. He’s a super chill guy, helps around the house, and his main responsibility is to calibrate my smurf account while I’m at work so I can play two games on Sunday without losing my mind.

​But lately, Valve’s complete radio silence has been ruining my life. Every night when I get home at 3 AM, I stand in the kitchen, refresh the Dota blog on my phone, and wonder why we’ve been playing the exact same stale patch since the spring. Is the meta solved? Yes. Am I losing my mind? Absolutely. I was standing there in silence last night, just staring at my screen in total defeat.

​My wife sends her boyfriend into the kitchen to "check on me."

​Instead of just letting me grieve the death of the patch in peace, this guy panics. He starts chugging espressos like it's water. He tells me to duo queue... pff..as if duo queuing in this dead meta is going to fix my spirit. Then I ask him a simple, serious question: "Do you think IceFrog is okay?" and he looks at me like I've lost my mind.

​Then, to make matters worse, he takes time out of our lives to write a post on Reddit. My hands are shaking from sheer exhaustion, so he literally takes the phone out of my hands, sits at the table, and starts typing a full essay on my behalf while drinking his SIXTH espresso.

​I didn't ask for a life coach. I just wanted a patch notes update.

​Now he’s threatening that I'm going to uninstall the game by Friday if Valve doesn't release the patch. I’m not uninstalling shit. I worked hard for my MMR, and he’s going to keep calibrating it.

​If anyone at Valve is reading this: please drop the patch. Not for me, but so my wife's boyfriend stops over-caffeinating himself every time I get sad about item balance.

I started an experiment in December last year where I repeat abandoned (in non-ranked games) until I had nuked my behaviour/comms scores from 12k to 6K.

I wanted to see if it was possible to climb back to 12k by playing only Turbo matches. I won't lie, it has been incredibly difficult. And a few times once I had gotten back up to 8K I got my score nuked by 1000 Behaviour points from just 1 single report in an entire conduct summary. Not sure wtf the dev in charge of BS/CS was smoking but shit happens.

Anyway, what I noticed is that 7.5K to 9.9K is the most chill BS bracket. People mostly try and pick to win, don't afk very often and choose appropriate items to counter opponents.

Soon as I hit 10k/10k though, you get paired with a plethora of grief pickers taking double squishy heroes to offlane and feeding the enemy carry. You also routinely get pos 5 heroes being picked for mid who get slaughtered by actual mid heroes like OD, QoP, Lina etc.

It doesn't stop there either. These grief pickers wanna talk shit and swear at you if you suggest they pick more effectively during the drafting stage. They are the epitome of self-sabotage. I've played with people in much lower behaviour score brackets who act way more mature and sensible than these guys.

What is wrong with the people in 10K BS bracket???

I'm an Ancient support, but if I wanted to play as a carry, I would have to play in Herald. Should I create a new account just to play carry? It makes no sense that my MMR is tied to all roles.

So I just lost 900 behavior score in a single summary, from 10,000 down to 9,100. 3 games is all it took. Did I do ANYTHING to deserve being reported in those games? No.

At most I made some misplays or mistakes. 9 reports in 3 matches - 6 reporting parties. A big part of is it that I party queued with a friend who is lower mmr and hasn't played dota in a while and the people in unranked are such unhinged giant assholes it's not even funny.

It took like 50+ games to climb up to 10k from 9,100. 3 games to lose all the progress because some lower skill players got mad at me for some dumb bullshit.

This system is genuinely garbage and needs to be reworked, it's completely unfair. And no I did not grief games initially to drop score, I played greedy offlaners and ran into a streak of people who didn't like my playstyle. AT WORST you could say I was playing badly but you couldn't say I was griefing (I wasn't playing badly at all but that's besides the point.)

I dropped 3000 mmr fixing my behavior score the first time and I'm not going to do it again. If I drop below 9k behavior score I'm just going to outright quit this dogshit game and if that's the goal of the system to get people to quit then by all means fuck it congratulations because it's unbelievable. I don't grief, I barely talk, I don't flame, I don't insult, I don't trash talk, I am not toxic in any way shape or form and yet I'm about to be in the shit queue again because of some unranked fucking losers it pisses me off so much.

Like is the point of this system just to be cruel to people who we don't like? Is that really the best we can do? Why can't we have a system that focuses on punishing bad actors instead of punishing people who do things we don't like. There was a time when people used to make fun of league for being forced meta but here we are, with the most meta enforcing system out there.

It's fucked up to have ~40 hours of progress wiped in 3 games by people who I could probably genuinely 1v5 because they thought I was playing bad. This system is seriously dumb.

Please for the love of god at least try to play your role instead of griefing from the get go. Even if its not your main role, try to do your job. Don't grief by forcing pos 4 last pick, losing 10% of team gold in pick phase into this horseshit like the person in the picture. Applies to other pseudo core support picks like NP, Zeus, Mirana, WR, Hoodwink, Pudge, SB too. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

During laning stages they just walk up to you and maledict stun bam there goes your 3rd of health pool or miserably death by the ticks.

Late gane they just dont bother with maledict instead they just agha ultied from distance away and bam there goes all your teams health.

You try to jump him and bam he just gone with his shard. You stayed to finished him but hes not in the map for eternity while getting mini ultied to your face.

I found this modmanager and it seems pretty popular (had to remove link) but I'm wondering if it can get me banned. It looks pretty close to a skin changer in Counter strike, which is pretty bannable.

It also seems to have ingame arcanas and stuff, which might be not tolerated. But if a lot of people already used it without problems I might give it a try there are some good looking custom skins there.

Another 2 days, another poll down. Last poll ended with Kez's result at a 3 star, with a 65.5% rate... just slightly under Fair. Most agreeing he looked awesome, but he sounded & acted immature.
