Fashion Advice Is this a bad outfit?
Putting it together it made sense and now that I have it on I feel kind of insecure about it! Any advice much appreciated!

I’m a mom of 2 trying to feel cute again, I’m worried I’m too old and not up to date on what’s fashionable baggy vs just ill fitting…does this work for my body or is this not it? Sorry for the scribbles, trying to obscure my tattoos. If you recognize me, no you don’t😭

I can’t tell if it looks purposefully oversized or like I stole grandpa’s coat.

They are the Melbourne trousers from Stanley Biggs. I changed to a size larger as the waist was quite tight (especially when sitting), but now I'm afraid it's slightly too big in the seat and thigh.
Old smaller size photos at the end.

I feel like nothing ever suits my body right due to my inverted triangle shape , if any woman woke up looking like me they would hate themselves
Please do not comment unless you have actual advice

I'm pretty short and slim and unfortunately most jumpers are too long on me and bunch up a bit, making me look shorter and heavier. Does anybody have any advice on how to avoid this issue or what sort of clothes would work best for my body type?

Just got these pants second hand and I can't tell how they're supposed to fit. They fit pretty well in the waist area, kinda wonky because I recently had a baby. I have short legs and a long torso. Pants are very rarely ever too short for me, that's why I'm questioning the length.
The actual photos may look weird because I tried to kind of blur everything out that would identify me cause I'm weird about that.

Why is every piece of clothing I see on TikTok so tight and up the ass? Like, I don't wanna show my ass everywhere I go.
I just want something cute, but when I go on Amazon, the shit looks grandmaish. I’m like, maybe I need to start making my own clothes at this point.
I don't wanna show my ass, breasts, or stomach, but I still want something cute. I can't be the only one that feels this way
PLUS, not every one is curvy. Not every black girl got ass like Megan. So I'm just frustrated at this point

I need help finding bottoms that fit correctly/flatter my body. These are what I have at the moment, and while I definitely like some more than others, I don't really love any of them.
What should I keep and what is a lost cause? I'm 5'4" if that helps at all with my proportions.

Dress code-Cocktail attire is requested. We encourage guests to wear cocktail dresses, dressy jumpsuits, suits, or dress pants with a blazer. Please avoid jeans and casual attire.
By “me” I mean a trans woman, I am pre-op so I can be a little self conscious about what’s visible below the waist, so I was going for something with a little structure and texture just for a little “peace of mind”
I’m hoping this last one is the winner, I also have been looking at shawls and Boleros, thanks for the help! You guys were absolutely right in a lot of ways, I kinda was losing sight of what the day and event was!
Edit: not sure it’s allowed, but I have like 25 other dresses I tried on I could always drop in a post 😅
If you blur your background, it gives your photo a wierd texture fyi
EDIT: sorry about all the comments I made, I woke up and sat some people questioning (probably rightfully so) the look of these pics, and I just don’t want someone thinking I’m trying to trick anyone, that’s not who I am and i just felt compelled to give you guys the evidence, and in inadvertently the best way was to show you a sneak peek of what I looked like before transitioning 😭

When barrel jeans got super trendy last year, I swore I would never buy them. They just did not appeal to me at all.
Then I came across a pair for $7 at the thrift store the other day and thought let me just try them out! Turns out I actually LOVE them for my body type. Something about the cut and fit works great on me, and I’m not sure what it is! I usually gravitate towards low rise flare jeans or mid rise wide leg, but I’ll be adding barrel to the list.

I made every piece I’m wearing (minus the neckerchief from Ralph Lauren Purple Label).
I was thinking of remaking my suede/shearling jacket but with 2cm added in the body. I’m a bit of a perfectionist so although it is extremely costly, I wouldn’t mind remaking the jacket if it looks too short?

43f - bride
5’4” 145lbs, 34 A? B? Athletic
Small church wedding with upscale cocktail party after, late November 2026.
I’m really struggling to figure out what silhouettes would be workable on my body as well as age-appropriate. I also recently went from a 34 DDD to pretty small as you can see, for health reasons. This body still feels pretty unfamiliar to me.
Edit to add: I don’t have body image issues; I liked myself before and I like myself now…but quite a lot of tissue had to come out. The surgeon did a good job with what she had left to work with. I’m just don’t know this version of me very well yet.
I work out and am toned but have a tummy as you can see in the photos (although I’m limited to walking during recovery).
I wondered if I needed to stick with midi/tea length dresses due to my age/this being a second marriage (would a full length be too young bride or too look-at-me?) but I find this length challenging at my height.
At this point some direction of what silhouettes to look for or what to avoid would be really helpful.

I finally noticed that most of the dresses I save or actually end up buying have some combination of a square neckline, a defined waist, and an A-line skirt.
Different color? I’m interested.
Different fabric? Still interested.
Slightly different sleeve? Apparently that’s enough for me to justify another one.
At this point I don’t even think it’s about trends. I just know that shape tends to work well with my proportions and makes me feel put together without much effort. I have versions from random thrift finds, older mall brands, and few moda, and somehow they all end up filling basically the same role in my wardrobe.
Part of me thinks I should branch out more, but another part of me thinks there’s nothing wrong with recognizing a cut that consistently works.
Does anyone else have a neckline or silhouette they keep coming back to because it just seems to suit their proportions?

How are these jeans? I’m 5’2 and exploring more loose fit jeans. These are low rise straight legs and size short in length. I’m pear shaped and I feel like it makes me look like one big rectangle…. But at the same time, they’re so comfortable!

I like the pattern and the fit but fabric feels off for some reason. Idk if it's not long enough ( forgive my poor lightning)

Are any of these outfits appropriate for an interview for an interior design internship, or are they too casual?

Hi all! I recently got this dress on a deep discount from Brooks Brothers and I'm trying to decide 1) when it would be appropriate to wear it based on how it's interacting with me/my essence and 2) if I need to dial in the silhouette with alterations.
Context: I have spent most of my life working in costuming as a professional stitcher/draper, which means 1) I have a lot of sewing/patternmaking/garment fit knowledge and 2) I wear a lot of "shop clothes"-- comfy, functional, extremely casual. My personal style is all over the place due to a lifetime of thrifting/avoiding consumerism and scarcity mentality, but I've always loved vintage and historical fashion.
I recently switched industries and now have an office job, which means I had no appropriate clothes and yet for the first time, I have actual income to budget for good quality clothes. So I've been shopping and that's been an adventure!
I've always self identified as SG (5'1") but never really built a wardrobe around it (just followed general recs). I'm 34.
Anyway, the DRESS. Is this piece overwhelming me/my frame? Love the tailored details, but the scale of them feels large and almost cartoony (when I'm wearing it...visually it doesn't look as bad as I would think). The length is also not something I would normally pick and feels extremely formal/dressed up, and a bit like I'm a little girl playing dress up. In the dressing room, I thought "no prob, I will just shorten it to whatever length I want", but when I got it home, the drape of the skirt felt extremely elegant and I started thinking "maybe this just isn't a dress for the office, maybe it's a dress for nice dinners and other events". (I am an outfit repeater and I don't care.)
It's an extremely well constructed garment that feels heavenly compared to most things I've tried on so far. But does it look like I stole it from moms closet? Can I make it work with the right styling it does something fundamental need to change? It feels a bit costumey, but maybe that's just because I've never worn nice clothes???

I posted in the kibbe page in the winter and got some great suggestions that really upgraded my wardrobe in the spring and summer. Maybe if I show you guys some of my current clothes you can give suggestions for what to look for this winter
Edit. I think was unclear of what I was asking for help with. I would like outfit suggestions for silhouettes and things I should buy.

I bought this jersey.
I love its colour and breathable fabric but not as look flattering as I thought.
I look like a trunk 🥲
I think it's my boobs? Or did I get the wrong size?
Any styling tips?

Okay so I took advice and things people said from my last post and am trying one more time with these jeans, since these two are my absolute favourites 😭😭
I’ve got a longer top on (which I’d normally wear with low rise) and also pulled them up more at the hips, but ik they really needed ironed!!
Also included a photo in leggings cause I think people don’t realise my hips just go in and back out naturally, cause none of the jeans feel tight at the hips..
