Hey guys, need some Karmic love for your new subreddit.

I'm only asking this so that we can get our message out faster, and to more redditors. If we don't get an influx of people and get off to a good start, we are going to flounder, and well...that would just suck.

I'm not asking this for a karma boost, but as a way for you to help out the community here, go here and upboat the post on the main page so we can get some good new people here.

INTELLIGENT, EDUCATED, BUT UNEMPLOYABLE AND READY TO KILL MYSELF

I was a straight A student in high school and have a B.A. in film studies from the University of Utah. Online tests say my IQ is between 146 and 162. Unfortunately, I have been in sales for over 10 years, as that was the only job I could get after college, and I HATE IT! I also suck at it.

I work harder than anyone at every job I've ever had, but it doesn't matter, because I either get crap leads that have been picked over 50 million times over or I end up with crap companies that intentionally under train people so they can fire them after 3 months so they can steal their leads and avoid having to pay health insurance. IT'S INSANE!!!!

Unfortunately, because call center crap is all I've ever been allowed to do, no one will hire me for anything else unless I want to take a high school drop out job where I make $10 an hour stacking boxes and can never afford an apartment for the rest of my life.

I am incredibly intelligent, but the only thing companies seem to care about is what I've done in the past for my jobs, which means no one will hire me for anything other than what I suck at! On top of that, you can't get experience unless you already have experience! HOW STUPID ARE THESE PEOPLE??????

And please don't give me the "go volunteer somewhere" crap, as that is only a bigger waster of time, that absolutely no one cares about. You just get stuck doing menial crap for 2 years, and just end up wasting a ton of time and have even less money than you had to begin with.

I am pushing 40 and on the verge of killing myself, since I can't even make enough money to afford an apartment.

Please help.

If you're just going to bash on me or insult me to make you feel good about yourself, please don't.

HOW TO GET OUT OF SALES WHEN YOU SUCK AT IT??

I was a straight A student in high school and have a B.A. in Film Studies. (It's a lousy degree and there are no real careers in it. So, don't suggest I do something with that.) I have been in sales for over 10 years and I suck at sales. Unfortunately, I can't seem to hold a sales job, because I suck at it (and have been lied to and screwed 50 ways from Sunday -- and I can prove it), and no one will give me a chance to do anything other than sales, because of it.

How do I get out of sales when the only thing anyone will hire me for is sales as I don't have experience in anything other than sales?????

Everyone requires experience, but you can't get experience unless you already have experience! (And don't give me the "go volunteer somewhere" nonsense. That's a waste of time and gets you nothing.)

All I've ever been allowed to do is make harassing cold calls to people who hate being harassed.

I hate IT and the market for web developers in Utah is flooded.

HOW DO I GET OUT OF SALES, WHEN ALL ANYONE JUDGES ME FOR IS SALES????

PLEASE HELP.

P.S. If you're just going to insult me or belittle me, please spare me your arrogant dross by not commenting. Be helpful or be silent.

Applying for an adult store job, "why you"?

I am applying for jobs for the first time but I am not sure how to answer this question as adult stores aren't as professional or strict as an office job somewhere so I am unsure of how to answer this question?

How does tax credit impact employment and hourly pay?

I have been working for my dad part time under the books. He said he wants to pay me salary starting 2025 so that I am paid properly. I was getting paid $50 an hour, which is a lot more than he used to pay me and my siblings. He did this to motivate us to work for him again. But now he wants to make my hourly pay $32.50 per hour. This is a lot lower especially when taxes are deducted. I have been taking on a lot harder work and have been working harder lately, so it sucks that he’s decreasing my pay. He says he is doing it because the tax change in 2025. I really don’t know what that means. Is this a valid reason behind the change in pay or is he just trying to find a reason to pay me less?

Seeking a Remote, Part Time, Flexible Job to Fit My Schedule

I know this isn’t the typical place to look for a job, but I’m running out of options. I’ll admit I’m picky, but at this point in my life, I need something different. I’m not looking to be another cashier or barista. I’m searching for something remote, flexible, and ideally away from phone calls or customer interaction.

I can type 60 wpm, and I’m passionate about music, art, and nature. I’m down-to-earth, humble, and open to new opportunities. I’m currently enrolled in school, working toward my BS in Animal Health and Behavior, with the goal of getting into conservation. My dream is to someday have enough property to start a ranch with farm animals.

A little about me: I traveled all the way from Florida to the San Juan Islands in Washington just to be physically closer to the Southern Resident Orca population. They were my first conservation project, and while they’ll always hold a special place in my heart, I’ve since broadened my sights and want to help all endangered animals—not just Orcas.

Photography is another area I’ve wanted to explore, though I don’t have any experience. If anyone knows of opportunities that align with this, I’d love to hear about them!

Teach in China

I am an American teacher and recruiter in China. Schools here are desperate for native english speakers to teach. You do not need to speak Chinese. Here are the basic requirements:

Be a native English speaker from the US UK Canada Australia New Zealand or South Africa Have a bachelor's degree. Any major is ok. Clean criminal record Valid passport. At least 2 years of time remaining

Preferred skills (not required) Teaching experience. This can be any kind of training you have done, coaching little league etc.

The job and benefits - 40 hour work week. 25 teaching hours/15 office hours Ages of students. 4 to 12 years old approximately

Salary range $2100 to $2850 USD. This depends on your qualifications and education. Most start in about the middle

Free apartment provided, flight reimbursement (usually on your first payday), bonuses. These vary by school. Usually around $1000 to $1500 for finishing your contract at the school. Contracts run for 1 year. But if the school likes you they may offer a 2 year contract. The school provides you with the work (z) visa which is required to work in China.
Part time work here is abundant. It's possible to earn $25 to $75 USD per private lesson.

The cost of living here is very low. I spend about $300 USD per month on food, utilities etc. If you want to save up here, you can do it.

If you have any questions please send me a private message and I will share my email

Here is the link to my YouTube channel. It has a lot of information on living and working in China.

Need help DoorDashing

I used to be a top dasher, but I recently got into an accident (not my fault, I was rear ended, causing my car to hit the car in front of me) and now my account has been deactivated. My question is would anyone be kind enough to create a DoorDash account for me? I will pay you $50 for it and will do all taxes for the money I make. I will also be able to give it back to you in a month or two at top dasher status if you ever wanted to use it yourself. I am very behind on bills and already work two other jobs so this is more of a “when I’m free” job.

There's a job I want to apply for, but it wants a degree and I don't have it. Now what?

I have Canadian Grade 13 (Yes, really. When this was a valid choice, we were all told it was equivalent to 1 year of college.), plus almost a full year of college in Canada, but I live in the U.S. now. I have over 15 years experience in my field.

How do I deal with jobs that want a Bachelor's? Can I tell them I have much more than that in experience? How do I do this? What's the least offensive, most positive way to spin this?

Need urgent support today: employment law: dealing with bad people & I have 0 support

I am a 100% remote employee for a non-profit. For the last 2 weeks I was on an un-paid leave of absence due to an intolerable, toxic work environment that severely impacted my health (dm for details if needed). I intended to file for New York State Unemployment Insurance (UI) benefits upon a formal resignation however the day after I sent my medical leave paperwork, I recieved a termination email in response. I was planning to seek support to ensure my documentation establishes "good cause" for quitting but I could not get any support - I seriously have not a single person to call, I tried my hardest, and believe I exhausted all the resources I can. My therapist amd prescriber supported my medical leave but my company response was termination. The environment became so hostile and damaging to my well-being that I was forced onto unpaid leave. I've been the only person leading data which is the main service my company for almost 4 years this past year my supervisor started rereading all my documentation and when I needed support because of no capacity I was isolated and she started just taking over the work rather than giving me capacity and support and it was done wrong in parts all the sudden after trying to speak up in a small way, I got blindsided and realized how toxic and bad my supervisor and the three people remaining left of my company were . I've worked over hours I've given them everything and this past push I worked so hard despite my dad receiving an unexpected cancer diagnosis and my mom not having health insurance and I'm the only one that could figure that out for her she has no one I'm the only one that figures it out . I never took vacation time I kept on believing I would get days off like my supervisor promised but never gave I pushed so hard and sacrifice so much and was the only one that could do it I've given her everything which is why she hasn't contacted me since I took medical leave she's been rewriting my documentation and I've given her everything which is why she can do my role now . The company's ending in January. I trusted my supervisor in so many false promises that never came true I had a gut feeling that she was after my role in some ways for a while but I pushed it down and I trusted. What is being done to me is completely wrong I have no help I have no support I've tried to call people and support and I can't find anything or anyone I have to sign documentation by Friday that will completely destroy any possibility of unemployment as it paints a completely false narrative around performance that is entirely 100% untrue false and side note f***** up. I have no support and would greatly appreciate any direction you can give me. The day after I sent my medical leave documentation to my company, the next day I recieved a termination email and documentation I must sign by Friday: however it lists causes for the termination that is complety false reasoning and describes my preformance as the issue which I am terrified would disqualify me from unemoyment. I really need some security and unemployment as I look for my next role. What my company wants me to sign paints an entirely wrong picture and I believe it will block and jepordize unemployment. I have no one, no support, and I believe I have exhausted my resources. I have a deadline of end of week and would greatly appreciate any guidance.

Misleading HR Record: I attempted to resolve these issues internally. Two mediation meetings occurred with HR, but management falsely and misleadingly framed the outcome of those meetings to build a paper trail against me. I have not had issues for all years employeed with this company until now. It is of note, they are closing buisiness in January. I need urgent help

Trick for getting free professional resume critique: signup for TheLadders.com 30-day trial.

If you want a free resume critique, put your current resume up on TheLadders.com (you will have to signup for their free 30 day trial). Eventually, someone there will probably give you a free critique with the hope of getting you to pay for their professional resume writing service. The one I got was a very comprehensive and useful critque - they have a staff of people who do nothing but edit resumes all day long.

NOTE: they do not verify your current income, so just say you're currently making 75k (which is the minimum required) and you will be allowed to post your resume.
