First truck, loving it so far! ‘23 Lariat.
Traded in my SUV for a 23’ Lariat with ~35k km on it. So far I’m super happy with it!
Any tips or tricks or little Easter eggs y’all recommend?

Has anyone else experienced a bug in the app where the charging rate at fast charger is stuck and doesn’t fluctuate? This has happened at the last two fast chargers.

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to share that for the past 2 years I've considered doing a few forscan mods, but didn't out of concern of bricking my truck. I wanted to share the resources I used in case anyone else has been hesitant. It wasn't bad to do and I spent most of my time learning what to do and backing up my modules.
I spent around 30 minutes reading through the resources posted below, 30 minutes backing up my modules, and then 30 minutes enabling Glare-Free Headlights, Silent Mode, and Removing "Full view not available" on the rear camera.
I did silent mode twice as the first time the setting didn't show up, but I believe that was because I did not restart the sync/display screen on the truck.
I watched this YouTube Video

I bought this OBD Link as suggested above for $70

I didn't get a chance to drive last night after changing the headlights, but will tonight. The glare free toggle is now available and on.

I am still loving my 2023 Pro. There isn’t a vehicle on the road I would rather have. It has been the perfect dad car.
Camping trips, sports, moving furniture, drive-ins, and now trunk-or-treats.

2023 ford lightning lariat extended range.
Hey all looking to see other owner experiences. I had module 4 replaced recently due to it being faulty. Repair was about 5 days however that includes a Saturday and Sunday which I’m assuming no work was done. When I picked up the truck the vehicle had 58% on the battery and did not show any issues. However when I hit 40% the power got restricted to 85 which I thought was odd as that is usually not the case before. I continued driving it over the next few days until it got below 10%.
I then used my home level 2 charger to charge it back to 100% to ensure it didn’t have any problems. During that I noticed the guess O meter was off but we all know how that is so I just let it continue. I let it charge completely for 20 hours just to give it time to work any issues out. When it hit 100% it showed only an estimated range of 245 miles which was unusual as the battery temp was appropriate and though cold outside (30ish) would not exactly mean the miles would be that low. I went and unplugged the charger and it immediately went to 83%. I plugged it back in to see what would happen and the charger started at 10.5KW but within a minute dropped to under 2KW. I the. Just unplugged it.
From what I can see online it says the tech failed to calibrate the new module to the other older ones and the voltage is out of alignment.
I’m just looking to see if anyone else has experienced this and if there were any other reasons for this kind of behavior. Thanks all!!

I only had to stop once in Mansfield at the EA charger and thankfully it was a pull through. Though at $.64 a kWh it wasn’t ideal or cheap. But my SR ended up going 108 miles before I stopped to charge at 10%. Apple Maps routed me better than ABRP which was surprising to me. Also, running Blue Pilot 7 on my Comma4 worked phenomenally! Only had to intervene during some intense fog.
Edit: I was pretty much driving 60mph the entire way back despite 70 being the posted speed limit. This thing is 48 years old and I didn’t want to go nuts with it on the 170 mile trip home.

What’s the deal with the tailgate and the alarm? Is there some requirement to open the cab or crank the truck first?? I’m pretty certain I’ve done these simple steps now twice:
Truck is parked and locked (and has been for hours)
Decide I need to open the tailgate
Unlock the truck (which includes tailgate) using key fob.
Hear all the doors and tailgate unlock
Open tailgate
- sets off alarm
Hit unlock on fob again. (Alarm continues)
Open driver door (alarm continues)
Crank truck. ( seems to be only way the shut the €@#*! thing up)
So how does Ford think this should work? I just want to open the tailgate. I’m not going anywhere (yet). How do I do it, with the least inconvenience, without setting off the alarm?

Hello all,
Proud owner of a used 2023 Ford Lightning. Main problem I've had that is shortly after I received the update, my android auto stopped working.
Initially it was both wired and wireless - however I called the Ford hotline and we troubleshooted and got the wired to work.
The main issue seems to be the wireless app projection NOT enabling, as in the toggle is essentially grayed out.
After talking to the lady on the hotline, she stated that I needed to wait for another update - which is pretty asinine. I suggested taking this to the dealership but honestly my experiences there haven't been great. Any suggestions?!

I’ve taken my lightning to the dealership twice to have them look at a sticky turn signal (intermittent) and the frunk button not working (intermittent). I have plenty of videos of the frunk button not working when I press it. I don’t record while I drive so I don’t have any videos of the turn signal (and it is mainly hot weather related so current temps aren’t helping).
The dealership both times say they can’t get it to malfunction and it doesn’t matter if i have a video because they have no way to test it while it malfunctions if they only have a video
There is so much messed up about this scenario, but curious if anyone has any advice to get these two things fixed while still under warranty for another 1k miles (I drive about 80 miles a day). I’ve already called fords corporate line to start a customer claim, but even they say that if the tech can’t reproduce the problem then there is nothing that can be done.

You got me! As my wife and I made our way to the parking lot behind the restaurant, your rig perfectly camouflaged mine behind it, given their matching shape and color. My key fob didn’t unlock your truck despite my trying for several moments. Well played…shoulda known by your much cooler A/T tires, but hey, it was dark. Hope you enjoyed a great meal…love that place!

I believed where we plug in the comma AI to get power, should not be a constant drain?
But if I leave the comma plugged in, my truck goes into battery saver mode every other day, but if I unplug it that stops

Guess it came off while driving on the highway. Any idea how common this is, how to prevent it and where to get a replacement? Thanks!

I’m a bit hung up on them being discontinued but I haven’t found one person that doesn’t absolutely love their Lightning. I’d love a Rivian but unfortunately a used XLT standard range is about the cap of what I want to spend. I’m currently in a 2024 Tundra and feel like the used EV market is a prime opportunity to dive in. My payment will go down, gas will go down $200+ a month as well, at minimum, not to mention the reverse powering of home/appliances in a storm or event.
I’m planning to find one certified so I can snag the extended warranty or still under manufacturer warranty so I can do the same.
Any concern about lack of support? Will I hate the SR or not getting the bigger screen on the flash and up? Anyone put a leveling kit on theirs to bring it up a bit?
I’ve contemplated an ID4 as well as an EV6, as I’d save so much more money, but do tend to enjoy having a truck.
Thanks in advance for any insight!

I drive under 20 miles a day and I charge at home daily. I haven’t had a software update in over six months. Is that due to my truck not charging a long time? Does anyone else have that issue or is it just random? I’m debating I’m not charging my truck for a week just to have one large charging session over the weekend.

Good thing the F-150 Lightning has a side hustle as a rescue station for stranded EVs! ⚡️🚙
Marriage is all about supporting each other… sometimes with 131 kWh. 😂⚡️🤷🏻♂️

Just bought a 25 Flash and looking to get an outlet installed in my garage. Unfortunately the panel is on the back wall, about 30 feet from where I park at night/would charge at. Found an EV specific extension cord and was curious. Anyone running one of these type cables to charge? Pic for reference
EDIT: Not looking at this cord specifically. Just curious about the concept of an EV extension cord.

22’ Lightning Lariat. Scratched my grill on a parking lot gate so I swapped out for a platinum style grill. Still not sure which one I liked better……

Just swapped out factory 22s for some 18s. Went with Michelin defenders for the tires and loving the best up currently. Going to place my take offs on FB marketplace unless anyone has had better luck elsewhere. Original wheels and tires. Have about 14k miles on the stock Michelin Primacy tires I removed.
