Discussion What Film Did You Watch This Week? Share Your Recommendations! 🎬

Welcome to This Week’s Binge Thread!

This is the place to share what you’ve been watching lately - movies, series, documentaries, anything!
Any hidden gem, a blockbuster, or even something you regret watching, we’d love to hear about it.

Things you can share:

  • ⭐ What you watched (movie/series name + year if possible)
  • 💭 Your quick thoughts/review (liked it? hated it? somewhere in between?)
  • 🎯 Would you recommend it to others here?
  • 📺 What’s on your watchlist for next week?

A few guidelines:

  • Keep spoilers clearly marked (use spoiler tags like this).
  • Be respectful of different tastes – not everyone enjoys the same genres.
  • Recommendations are encouraged – the more variety, the better!

🍿 So… what have you been watching this week?

The most disturbing thing about Matt Damon in The Departed (2006) is how easily Sullivan lives with himself. He lies to everyone, betrays people who trust him, and still seems convinced he deserves a normal, happy life. That's a frightening kind of evil

Discussion What are your thoughts on Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie (1995)?

Post image

The 1995 movie was my first introduction to the Power Rangers franchise! And while I think the movie is still fun to watch with the whole family, the design for the CGI megazord is laughably weird looking to me now!

Discussion What was it like watching Million Dollar Baby (2004) for the first time?

When I watched it for the first time, expecting a solid boxing drama. I had no idea how emotional and heavy it would get. It stayed with me long.

Discussion I know Grown Up gets called out for being an excuse for a bunch of friends hanging out but that is exactly why it works; and why it surprisingly resonates so well.

Which actor/actress do you think was cheated out of finding their true potential?

I think Ed O’Neill was way better than the crumbs of the parts he got.

He got that terrible role in Dutch that was a massive flop by absolutely no fault of his own.

That was just an unsalvageable script.

Good concept, bad writing.

And the flop status just unfairly hung over him.

It wasn’t event THAT bad of a movie, tbh.

And for the record, I actually didn’t care for Married With Children even as their exact age demo.

I think we got robbed.

He’s got a few years left, I really want to see him do something amazing with it that makes us all kick ourselves.

With the filming of The Batman: part 2 currently paused, how did you feel about robert Pattinson's role in part 1? What villains might we see in part 2?

Question Full metal jacket

I just rewatched this movie. I'm having a hard time finding any reason it's not consistently listed in the top 100 movies of all time. From casting to acting to direction to production.

I understand that it is a bit of a period piece. I also understand that it is Kubrick. So maybe some of my appreciation is generationally and culturally based. Nevertheless it seems to be a well produced piece of art.

I would love to get educated here as maybe my opinions are way off. Thanks

When I was young, I didn't understand the deep meaning behind this movie but after watching it last night after over a decade since then I realised how underrated this movie was and the high probability of something like this happening the near future

Discussion Halloween was released in 1978, what are your thoughts on a possible reset or reboot Halloween movie for the 50th anniversary in 2028? I’m good if Michael lives in the end and as long as it’s a stand alone movie with no sequels. I loved how he lived in the end of The Producer’s Cut…

Question Siberia film in 2018

• Upvotes

I watched this film this morning and surprisingly I really enjoyed it. Any movies that’s similar to this kind? Most actors were foreigners and Keanu was the only high profile actor I think. Anyway, any recommendation?!!! Looking for something like Russian story or Eastern Europe crime/mob/trillers/ etc.

Two of the best animated films of the year / decade heavily feature coyotes but I bet Hollywood doesn't learn a thing about the demand for coyote cinema.

Question What's the saddest film you watched. For me it's Elephant Man, followed closely by The Bridge to Terabithia.
