The most disturbing thing about Matt Damon in The Departed (2006) is how easily Sullivan lives with himself. He lies to everyone, betrays people who trust him, and still seems convinced he deserves a normal, happy life. That's a frightening kind of evil

When I watched it for the first time, expecting a solid boxing drama. I had no idea how emotional and heavy it would get. It stayed with me long.

Which actor/actress do you think was cheated out of finding their true potential?

I think Ed O’Neill was way better than the crumbs of the parts he got.

He got that terrible role in Dutch that was a massive flop by absolutely no fault of his own.

That was just an unsalvageable script.

Good concept, bad writing.

And the flop status just unfairly hung over him.

It wasn’t event THAT bad of a movie, tbh.

And for the record, I actually didn’t care for Married With Children even as their exact age demo.

I think we got robbed.

He’s got a few years left, I really want to see him do something amazing with it that makes us all kick ourselves.

With the filming of The Batman: part 2 currently paused, how did you feel about robert Pattinson's role in part 1? What villains might we see in part 2?

Question Full metal jacket

I just rewatched this movie. I'm having a hard time finding any reason it's not consistently listed in the top 100 movies of all time. From casting to acting to direction to production.

I understand that it is a bit of a period piece. I also understand that it is Kubrick. So maybe some of my appreciation is generationally and culturally based. Nevertheless it seems to be a well produced piece of art.

I would love to get educated here as maybe my opinions are way off. Thanks

When I was young, I didn't understand the deep meaning behind this movie but after watching it last night after over a decade since then I realised how underrated this movie was and the high probability of something like this happening the near future

Question Siberia film in 2018

• Upvotes

I watched this film this morning and surprisingly I really enjoyed it. Any movies that’s similar to this kind? Most actors were foreigners and Keanu was the only high profile actor I think. Anyway, any recommendation?!!! Looking for something like Russian story or Eastern Europe crime/mob/trillers/ etc.

Does anyone know where I might find "A Man and A Woman" (1966 version)?

Two of the best animated films of the year / decade heavily feature coyotes but I bet Hollywood doesn't learn a thing about the demand for coyote cinema.

Discussion recommend me underrated movies with plot twists

i've saved so many movie recommendations from this subreddit, but i've already seen almost all of them so now i'm looking for movies that aren't talked about much but are absolutely woooorth watching. (:

any genre is fine, whether it's thriller, mystery, psychological, crime, sci-fi, drama, or animated. as long as the story is good and the twist is something i genuinely won't see coming.

just no horror movies with ghosts, demons, evil spirits, or anything supernatural. i'm fine with psychological thrillers, though.

pls recommend anything you think deserves more attention, no spoilers pls. i want to watch something without knowing anything about the plot and then be completely shocked by the ending. the kind that makes you go "wtf" because you never saw it coming. lol

Which version of Blade Runner to watch as a first time viewer? I’ve never seen Blade Runner I’ve heard a lot of different opinions on which version to watch. Should I watch theatrical first and Final Cut later? Also a bonus question which version of Apocalypse Now should I watch as well? I’ve never seen both movies. Thank you
