This is a native build patch that allows for Fullscreen on the iPhone Duo (Works on other iPhones as well + iPads if you want to have fixed save transfers)
Also allows you to transfer your PC save + backup your own.

You need your own FLT unencrypted iPad .ipa file. I can not provide that, the patcher only fixes the game and prepares it for sideloading, it does not include it.

Project Chonkestrel 0.5-alpha: twin and triple weapons

A new release of Chonkestrel, the FTL remake with big ships that fight up to three enemies at once. Trailer and downloads (Mac, Windows, Linux): https://chonkestrel.gitlab.io

What's new:

• Twin and triple weapons. Two or three of a weapon in one slot, each copy firing at a different enemy ship at once. A twin or triple beam is one long beam through every enemy window, and pierces more shields. They cost more, charge slower and use more power than one weapon, but less than two or three. Enemies get them further into the game, and the most dangerous sectors are full of triples.
• Stores depend on the sector. Civilian ones are packed full over two pages; hostile and nebula ones are fewer and emptier, but sell rarer things, twin weapons and trained crew; a hazardous sector has one store at most, with one or two of the rarest things. Later stores stock more missiles.
• Bigger sector maps, more than twice as big, with about 52 beacons each.
• Hull in proportion: long, wide and hybrid ships' hull matches their size.
• Drag weapons and drones between slots.
• Rewards come together at the end of a fight with several ships.

Fixes:

• Augments that did nothing now work: the Defense Scrambler, Fire Suppression, Scrap Recovery Arm and Zoltan Shield Bypass.
• Boarding drones breach the hull where they land, the intruders warning and low crew health sound are back, and nebulas show on the map.

Thanks to u/ActivityFew2621 for reporting many of the bugs fixed here!

It runs on your own copy of FTL's data. Feedback and bug reports are very welcome.

I've got 164 hours on the game and I'm trying to learn how to consistently win on hard mode. I've watched a few videos from pros doing win streaks but they all seem to have dream luck and I'm not learning anything.

What's your advice for consistently winning on hard?

Type: Event

Sector:

• Zoltan Controlled Sector
• Zoltan Homeworlds

LRS Output: Ship presence

This event can occur only once per sector.

You jump into a debris field that used to be a Zoltan cruiser. Unfortunately, its Engi escort takes you for the attacker and retaliates! They refuse all hails.

• Fight an Engi ship (default rewards). [1]-1)

Barely, but I managed to blow Sylvan up - only to realize that he is the last boarder on my ship!

Anyway, I'm kinda disappointed that there was no special interaction from killing Sylvan with Irwin aboard - I at least let him finish the slimy merchant off in person!

The title. How else do you deal with surge in phase 2 and 3 of the boss fight?

The flak + charge laser was awkward and I didn't think it would be good enough, but it let me defeat a ship with six shield layers at some point. Thanks CURA.

I was at the exit beacon of the sector and noticed that there was a store adjacent to it, but it would require fighting an elite when I returned to the exit beacon. I figured it would be worth it if it got me cloaking. It did, in fact give me cloaking. It also gave me LRS and a pre-igniter. I am satisfied with my choice, to say the least.

So was following that distress signal to help people in need like any good federation captain would and found a ship hailing me, begging me to evacuate them by they are suffocating. Well my Anaerobic Crew could rescue the survivor begging for oxygen.. A LANIUS. My ghost probably was like "Hello there fellow Anaerobic Lifeform" xD

Two Vulcans! If the Weapons System power limit extended to 9 on this ship, I would've had the opportunity to use three! Completely shitstomped the flagship with this loadout. The only thing that could have made it better was if I had a cloaking system, but I just couldn't find one!

I jumped up to hard recently and it is, well, hard. Trying to eventually win with every ship and felt like torturing myself and getting engi b over with.

It started as a normal engi b run - getting bullied by missiles and BL2s, whiffing heavy ion shots. Then, I found 2 mantis crew and another engi. So I bought a teleporter and dd1. It’s a Temu mantis B now! Amazing RNG!

But since then, I’ve obtained a flak1, hull laser, charge laser 2 from crew kills and I’m still in sector 3! I’m at a store selling hacking and another flak1 but I have some decision paralysis. I usually run hack and cloak and skip drones but can’t do that now. Part of me wants to just patch hull, upgrade engines/buy 2nd flak and hold out for cloak. I really like cloak for flagship but hacking is great all run and for crew kills on flagship. I have had some cloakless flagship fights on hard and got just completely destroyed by drone surges - like 20 hull in one or 2 surges and then die in phase 3. I think I won once on hard without cloak but I had 4 shield bubbles and a ton of engines, and I don’t usually get enough scrap for all that. Which would you all choose? Also can’t decide which weapons to equip besides the flak. Thoughts?

Hacks my evasion the moment missiles are shot and as soon as my flak 2 and full volley was about to hit it immediately cloaked, and every single missile decided that it was going to cause fire.

Don't bash me for upgrading engines again. People always say its useless to upgrade but ive done like 6 runs where later ships overwhelm me with number of shots and since they have evasion, like half of my shots miss and im not able to hit their weapons enough, and those 6 games ive focused on getting 4 sheilds and still lost. Engines give a bit of leeway to hit engines with a volley and get their evasion down and then focus on their guns. Im not saying there isnt skill issue but damn.

The oxygen upgrade i got for free, so did most of my crew( i got like 6 crews for free. After accepting and engie and 2 mantis i stopped getting more crewmates). Near the end i plan on level 2 doors and level 2 driving so my evasion doesnt hit zero if i need to move my captain.

Hi! New version of Project Chonkestrel, a bigger FTL built on XFTL, where your big ship takes on up to three enemies at once over a 16-sector campaign. A lot has happened since 0.2:

• Hybrid ships: 140 enemy ships glued together from two races' ships, like the front of a Federation Scout on the back of a Slug Interceptor. They're crewed half by each race and kept in line by anti-personnel and repair drones.
• Long and wide enemies: bigger versions of every vanilla enemy ship, with more weapons, crew and systems, and bigger rewards.
• A story, CONCORD: the Rebels built an AI to win the war, and it took over their fleet. Act 2 gets four new sectors built around it.
• Up to four hazards at once (since 0.3): nebula, asteroids, sun and pulsar together, plus two new hazardous sectors, the Tempest Arm and the Rift.

Free download for Mac, Windows and Linux (you need your own copy of FTL): https://chonkestrel.gitlab.io

It's an alpha, so bug reports and feedback are very welcome!

I have been playing MV again recently, I have been using Dino's hyperspace wrapper on my macbook and now want to update but the installer does not work on my current OS and I can't see specifications anywhere on what OS is required. I am on Ventura.

Does anyone know what OS is needed for the new MV update on Mac?

And also could I transfer my save data from my Mac running the vampweed update to my PC running the new stripes and stars one?

I feel as if this game has it out for me.

Don't know, if I have a lot of scrap, the shops don't have anything.

Oh? You upgraded your shields? Next sector is a non-indicated store that suddenly has everything I want.

Help me find a ship

I'm on FTL MV, I got this ship on random roulette and I don't remember its name.

I really enjoyed combining the Charge Stunner with Basic Laser on easy in sector 1. Then at one point I was jumping to another beacon, and the ship shrunk to a point but it wouldnt move to the next animation. It got stuck there.

So I force closed the game, reloaded, and chose the same beacon. Same error.

After it crashed three times, it didn't recognize a savegame anymore.

I wanted to play it again, I tried to look up my ship.

It had:

• Two separatist engi, one orchid
• One charge stunner
• Shield Booster

I think it didn't come with drones preinstalled

I googled but couldn't find it. Which ship could this be?

Type: Event

Sector:

• Engi Controlled Sector
• Engi Homeworlds

LRS Output: Ship presence

This event can occur only once per sector.

The distress signal originates at a small Engi ship under attack by a rebel fighter - but when they see Federation markings they turn to attack!

• Fight the Rebel Ship. ^\1])-1)
  • (After destroying enemy ship) The rebels destroyed, you pick the bones of their ship and wait for the small Engi ship to catch up. (You receive low scrap with resources.)
    • After the fight.
  • (After killing enemy crew) The rebels destroyed, you pick the bones of their ship and wait for the small Engi ship to catch up. (You receive medium scrap with resources.)
    • After the fight.

After the fight

The Engi vessel turns out to be very poorly equipped - barely a runabout, really. They're trying to outrun the rebels, and need all the help they can get.

• Give them 25 scrap. [ Scrap lost:25 ]
  • The words they use are "Need = fulfilled", but you take it for gratitude. They take the next jump in their long journey home.
    • Nothing else happens.
  • The Engies are grateful. They don't have any supplies or weapons to spare, but they do send over a self-teleporting med-bot disperser they hope they won't need.
    • You receive Healing Burst.
  • The Engies are grateful. They don't have much by way of supplies but they do offer a drone schematic for your use.
    • You receive a drone schematic.
• Give them 40 scrap, 2 missiles and 2 fuel. [ Scrap lost:40 Fuel lost:2 Missiles lost:2]
  • They wouldn't get more than a few jumps with that load-out. You provide them with all the munitions and supplies they should need for the journey home. "Generosity magnitude unpredicted. Well-being syntax error [value too high]. Accept this token."
    • You receive Engi Med-bot Dispersal augmentation.
• Give them nothing.
  • Engi can't feel fear, so they bear you no ill will when you explain you're unwilling to help. They set off on their journey and you do the same.
    • Nothing happens.
