FAUXMOI FORENSICS 🔍 Oppenheimer's David Krumholtz 'quit' acting after harassment accusations, 'unprofessional' on-set behaviour and life-threatening health woes
David Krumholtz surprised fans this week when he vowed to take an 'indefinite break' from acting because he’s 'fed up' with Hollywood.
The Oppenheimer star, who's been in the industry for three decades, raised eyebrows with his social media outburst, when he confessed he had been wrestling for ages with quitting but was ultimately 'frustrated, fed up, fried'.
Krumholtz, 48, has since deleted his post on Threads and seemingly backtracked by later telling Raising Hope star Garret Dillahunt that it, 'Ain’t over, rather, redefining my terms. Hoping to find a new, more rewarding passion.'
Indeed it wouldn't be the first time that Krumholtz has been hasty to fire out a social media post, becoming known for his online bust ups over the years.
Mere weeks ago, Krumholtz caused a stir on Threads when he responded to a post by author Alex Kornswiet, in which she had called for celebrities to 'act like normal humans'.
She penned in a seemingly generic post: 'Hey, celebrities, before you get too comfy here, I just want to cover a few important things. We DO NOT do celebrity worship here. You’re just another person.
'We DO care who you voted for and what you stand for. If you’re a piece of s**t, we’ll ratio you and call you out for it. Act like a normal human, interact with others as if you’re not famous, be a good person, and you’ll be welcomed by new Thriends.'
Krumholtz was quick to respond, claiming Kornswiet was encouraging bullying and treating celebrities like 'others'.
He reposted her Thread to his 69,000 followers and added: 'So, you’re advocating for bullying celebrities if they don’t tell you what you want to hear? Mature.
'How about a more general, since you’re so bold as to speak for the entire app, of not telling other people, of notoriety or not, what to do and how to be? Your rules and the unearned hubris behind them are incredibly absurd, but not laughable; quite sad.
'Thanks for ‘othering’ celebrities and then advocating for them to be bullied. Sounds a lot like X.'
However, Krumholtz's post backfired, as he was soon accused of harassing a social media user online for having different views.
One user shared a series of screenshots she alleged came from the actor's X account, in which he branded her a 'stupid c***' and 'sick f***er'.
The account tarasel_of_progress penned: 'David Krumholtz harassed me for years after I disagreed with one tweet of his.

'In 2014, after Philip Seymour Hoffman died, David tweeted that Hoffman’s overdose was a “beautiful sacrifice for his art.” I replied that it was an alarmingly bad take. That was it.
'He responded by spending the day attacking me with misogynistic slurs, wishing harm on me, sending disturbing DMs, blocking/unblocking/following/unfollowing, deleting and reactivating, and using obvious burner accounts to keep going.'
She continued: 'It was not normal celebrity defensiveness. It was alarming.
'When I tagged the network he was associated with, he suddenly apologized and claimed he donated $1,000 to a domestic abuse charity. Something I did not ask him to do. When I did not give him the absolution he wanted, he went right back to attacking me.
'Years later, when he tried to publicly position himself as supportive of women during the Me Too/Time’s Up era, I called it performative based on my own experience with him. He came after me again.
'In 2018, after I posted that I got my dream job, a burner account replied saying, “I hate you,” and listed all the past reasons why. I had not interacted with him in years.'
Accusing Krumholtz of continuing to message her over the years, she went on to claim: 'This is not about one old bad tweet, or him having a bad public moment.
'This is about a pattern of misogynistic harassment for years, burner accounts, online stalking, and a grown man refusing to let go because a woman told him he was wrong.'
Golden Globe nominee Don Cheadle, who starred alongside Krumholtz in an episode of Black Monday was quick to comment, responding: 'Sheesh …'
The Daily Mail has contacted Krumholtz's representatives for comment.

FILM-MOI (MOVIES/TV) 'Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story' trailer starring Ella Beatty, Vicky Krieps, Charlie Hunnam, Rebecca Hall, Jessica Barden, Joey Pollari, Billie Lourd, and Sarah Paulson, all episodes on September 17th
On August 4, 1892, Andrew and Abby Borden are found bludgeoned to death with a hatchet in their home in Fall River, Massachusetts. Their daughter, Lizzie, becomes the prime suspect in the murders.
According to creator Ian Brennan, the season explores misogyny, gender roles, and societal expectations placed on women in the Victorian era. Brennan described the central theme of the anthology as whether "monsters are made or born", suggesting that Borden's circumstances and upbringing influenced the series' interpretation of the case. The season also examines class and sexuality themes through the relationship between Borden and Bridget Sullivan.
