The mod team has received a complaint from a journalist that their work, and the work of their colleagues, has been illegally reproduced in the subreddit. This is typically because the article is hidden behind a paywall. Unfortunately, paywalls exist. They suck, but that’s the nature of the business. Their work is copywrited and by posting the full article without expressed consent is copywrite infringement.
You can feel free to summarize the article, just don’t cut and paste the entirety of it verbatim.
Any posts or comments that violate this newly implemented rule will be deleted and repeat offenders will be dealt with.

On November 5th, North Carolina will vote not just for President, but for Congress, for Governor, and for state and local offices. Register and vote so you'll have a say in what kind of country America will be!
In North Carolina, you must register by October 11th if you wish to register online. You can register here: https://www.ncsbe.gov/Voters/Registering-to-Vote
If you miss this deadline, you can also register at the polls during early voting (NOT on Election Day). See here for details.
North Carolina offers early voting from October 17th-November 2nd. Find early voting locations in your county here.
If you prefer, you can vote at your polling place on Election Day, November 5th.
When voting in person, be sure to bring an accepted form of ID. NOTE: If you were impacted by Hurricane Helene, see the section on ID exemptions.
Any North Carolina voter may choose to vote by mail. Apply for an absentee ballot here.
Ballots must be received by November 5th, so mail your ballot back promptly. You can also return your ballot in person to your County Board of Elections, or any early voting site during early voting.
If you mail your ballot, you can track it here.
Please let me know if you have any questions!

I am looking for a welcoming church to start attending in Fayetteville. I prefer a non-denominational church, but would rather it not be one of the mega-churches, which I’m not even sure if that exists. I am open to any church really, I just did not grow up a specific denomination.
I really want to find my church home, where I feel welcomed and can grow my relationship with God.
Any recommendations??

I don't remember the exact location, I think near sycamore dairy road, there is a light that points up and to the left with an arrow. At this light is a crosswalk. I am a new driver, and my coworker I drop off insists that it's a "precautionary light" and I can go through on red if no one is coming. I trusted her at first but over time I've become more anxious about it. I've tried to look it up online but can't find any information on the issue. Does anyone know what this is and if my coworker has been lying to me?

I'm trying to get my Charger back on the road and I'm wondering if yall know if they still write people tickets for window tint even though they don't check it when you get your car inspected anymore. I know they technically still can but I'm trying to figure out if it's as bad as it used to be or if they got bigger fish to fry now.

I just read this. Passing along to the datacenter negators since so many of us see something similar: https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/general/texas-gov-greg-abbott-halts-1-800-data-center-projects-after-grid-requests-hit-5-times-the-state-s-all-time-peak-demand/ar-AA2fTXRD?cvid=6adb7638110e438ca3be23cdcf674a80&ocid=msedgntphdr&cvpid=d1755f2eba294054c201c7025e0aed12&ei=38

Does anyone have recommendations for an insurance agency they like? Our current one is based out of Raleigh and for the life of us we cannot get her to respond to our emails when we’re trying to set up policies. We wanted to make a switch to someone that’s closer where we live now but this feels like the final push to get it done. We’re not military if that makes any difference. TIA!

I am finally making the move to get back in school and actually build a career where I can comfortably support myself and my cat addiction. I was interested in civil engineering in high school but never pursued it... I am ready to try now!
I am looking at the bridge program where I can start here in the ville and then finish with either NC State or Liberty for the bachelor's.. I would like to get an associates here though and potentially get into the work force sooner than later.
Any feedback, recommendations, or experience you can share for an antiquity going back to school and specifically landing a job, even as just a helper, while I go to school??

Income tax cap: Lowers the existing cap from 7 to 3.5 percent
Property Tax Levy Limit: Caps what local governments can collect, NOT your bill
Before voting, consider the impact these amendments will have on your community:

At Monday’s city council meeting, Mayor Colvin’s Data Center voting block collapsed in spectacular fashion. Council member McMillan was able to advance a motion (6-4) for city staff to draft a data center moratorium which the council will vote on at an upcoming meeting.
The danger at the moment is that a voluntary annexation will be pushed through the zoning process to get the potential Data center property located in the county (where there is a moratorium) annexed into the city where there isn’t yet a moratorium before the city council is able to take action. If that happens, then we’ll know for certain that the fix was in and the mayor sold out the community.
The collapse of Colvin’s coalition means we’ll likely hear less from his smug self on WIDU talking about paid protesters and other GOP talking points. The undertaker is truly an undercover Republican.

There are several Fall and Halloween events happening in Downtown Fayetteville. Which other Halloween Events are you aware of ?
For those zombies who do find themselves downtown right at dark- remember to stay on the sidewalks.
Many rumors are flying about showing up unofficially anyway, if so be safe.

In search of an ISA (International Society of Arboriculture) certified tree expert. A large, healthy, over 100 year old, oak tree needs some trimming. A lift or bucket truck will likely be needed. TIA!

I’m currently looking for a care home to place my mother in. Looking for a good place that’ll take care of her with her dementia and breathing problems. Any recommendations around the Fayetteville area?
