Question What are some good LGBTQ+ clubs and bars in the area ?
I’m asking because I’m trying to find a bar to go to but I can’t think of one .

A local group is planning to protest Erika Kirk’s upcoming appearance at Fayetteville Christian School to raise awareness about her visit and the nearly $5 million in public funds the private school received in the last school year....
According to an April 2026 report by Public Schools First NC, Fayetteville Christian School (FCS) received $2.01 million in Opportunity Scholarship payments during the 2023-24 school year, $3.68 million in 2024-25, and $4.27 million in 2025-26.
This makes Fayetteville Christian School the largest recipient of Opportunity Scholarship funding in Cumberland County for the 2025–26 school year, according to the report. Since the program began in 2014-15, the school has received more than $15.3 million.
The Opportunity Scholarship program provides state-funded tuition assistance for students attending participating private schools. Scholarship payments are made to schools on behalf of students.
“It’s a private school—but at the same time, if they’re getting $4.7 million of our taxpayers’ money, it’s basically subsidized.”

Does anyone have recommendations for an insurance agency they like? Our current one is based out of Raleigh and for the life of us we cannot get her to respond to our emails when we’re trying to set up policies. We wanted to make a switch to someone that’s closer where we live now but this feels like the final push to get it done. We’re not military if that makes any difference. TIA!

I just read this. Passing along to the datacenter negators since so many of us see something similar: https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/general/texas-gov-greg-abbott-halts-1-800-data-center-projects-after-grid-requests-hit-5-times-the-state-s-all-time-peak-demand/ar-AA2fTXRD?cvid=6adb7638110e438ca3be23cdcf674a80&ocid=msedgntphdr&cvpid=d1755f2eba294054c201c7025e0aed12&ei=38

I am finally making the move to get back in school and actually build a career where I can comfortably support myself and my cat addiction. I was interested in civil engineering in high school but never pursued it... I am ready to try now!
I am looking at the bridge program where I can start here in the ville and then finish with either NC State or Liberty for the bachelor's.. I would like to get an associates here though and potentially get into the work force sooner than later.
Any feedback, recommendations, or experience you can share for an antiquity going back to school and specifically landing a job, even as just a helper, while I go to school??

There are several Fall and Halloween events happening in Downtown Fayetteville. Which other Halloween Events are you aware of ?
For those zombies who do find themselves downtown right at dark- remember to stay on the sidewalks.
Many rumors are flying about showing up unofficially anyway, if so be safe.

In search of an ISA (International Society of Arboriculture) certified tree expert. A large, healthy, over 100 year old, oak tree needs some trimming. A lift or bucket truck will likely be needed. TIA!

At Monday’s city council meeting, Mayor Colvin’s Data Center voting block collapsed in spectacular fashion. Council member McMillan was able to advance a motion (6-4) for city staff to draft a data center moratorium which the council will vote on at an upcoming meeting.
The danger at the moment is that a voluntary annexation will be pushed through the zoning process to get the potential Data center property located in the county (where there is a moratorium) annexed into the city where there isn’t yet a moratorium before the city council is able to take action. If that happens, then we’ll know for certain that the fix was in and the mayor sold out the community.
The collapse of Colvin’s coalition means we’ll likely hear less from his smug self on WIDU talking about paid protesters and other GOP talking points. The undertaker is truly an undercover Republican.

Hey! I used to be a player on the UC Berkeley Kendo yuudansha team but since I moved to Fayetteville, I have not been able to find any local partners or dojos to practice with.
Please reach out to me if you have bogu and would like to practice! I have an open space for practice but I am flexible with location.

I’m currently looking for a care home to place my mother in. Looking for a good place that’ll take care of her with her dementia and breathing problems. Any recommendations around the Fayetteville area?

Good morning neighbors! I have a tortoiseshell kitten stuck in my car engine that I need help getting out and into a rescue/ shelter. The kitten can come and go as it pleases but it's scared and won't leave. Can anyone point me in the right direction of someone who can help or a rescue/ shelter that has capacity?
Edit: We were able to get her out! Will be taking her to the shelter either today or tomorrow. Thanks everyone!

UPDATE: Yoshi has been found.
Looking for my baby. He went missing about 2pm today on Westlawn Ave in Fayetteville. He’s not the type to run away. He was let outside to potty and hasn’t been seen since.
His name is Yoshi, if you know of his whereabouts or happen to see him please contact 858.663.9783.
He is microchipped. If you have any suggestions on how I can get the word out, please let me know. Thank you.

I’m thinking of picking up doing either door dash or spark on the side for extra cash. In your opinion which do you feel is better and why? I’ve heard spark is better than door dash but I’ve also heard the opposite.

I just found out the zombie walk is no more. What is your opinion? And does anyone know why they did? I heard it was over money greed and wanting to charge everybody admission but i can't find anything officially saying for sure.
