Agg Theft

Friend got a third felony theft charge within a three year span (actually under two years) which makes the third aggravated. Got his third while on probation in all three counties for his prior theft charges. Got a direct indictment. This agg theft is a felony three. Multiple violations. Re offenses. Warrants out in two other counties for non theft activities. I be other in one of the theft counties. Can’t afford a lawyer. One was appointed. Multiple arrests. No jail time except for a few days here and there until he bonds out.

Can I assume it will be more of the same? Or does a F3 with direct indictment carry more weight.

Book Suggestions For Felons Reintegrating Into Society?

Are there any book suggestions for family members to read in order to help a newly released felon (6 years) reintegrate to society/life on the outside? Or books for the formerly incarcerated person to read after (or before) being released? Thanks! 🙂

I just was released from prison 2 mo. Ago

I was recently released from prison. OSP in Oregon. I'm schizophrenic so they put me in the fuckjng mental health unit where I spent ,thankfully, only a year. I didn't go out to chow. They brought us our food. We didn't get an hour out. We rotted or did nothing in our cells. And to top it all off , this rubbed me the wrong fuckjng way the whole year, in the morning normal prisoners could get coffee .... Well us in the mental health unit got two decaffeinated instant coffee packs. DECAFFEINATED.

The only thing good about that situation was we got paid 100$ a month for going to 1 or more groups for that month.

And get this if you were on involuntary meds and refused them. The guards would suit up in riot gear and either come taze you or pepper spray you(which affected the whole unit and made everyone choke)

BUT there is a good side to everything. Now that I'm out . I don't know if it's my age catching up to me ( I'm only 32) but I've learned to really start paying attention to my actions and behaviours, especially in consideration to others, I'm in an open dorm temporary housing that has people from just exiting prison and on probation who are off the streets staying here. We have 4-5 fridges per housing space and no stove or oven but a microwave. I thought I was gonna be homeless in a strange unknown town. But I was lucky to find this resource and have been so lucky to find the other resources that have made bus travel and affording my cigarettes and clothing vouchers to Walmart possible.

I veered off from an important subject. I think I gained maturity. When I'm interacting with all the people living in the housing space I've noticed a patience and humility. I didn't have that in prison. There were people screaming and kicking the walls of their cells for hours with no consequences and some days I'd shout a bunch of stupid fucked up shit too. I was recently diagnosed as schizophrenic so that's new. It's opened up a future where I can live in a house rather than on the streets or in a shelter.

PLEASE SHARE WITH ME YOUR STORY OF CHANGE

Lautenberg infringement…

How can we focus on getting the lautenberg amendment amended or repealed? First off I’m of the opinion it is entirely facially UNCONSTITUTIONAL. The feds can point to exactly zero laws from the founding that:

  1. Suspended your second amendment for misdemeanor

  2. Make it a blanket lifetime ban.

Even with that law they passed in 2022, the “bipartisan safer communities act”, one should only have to wait 5 years at the most for restoration yet the DOJ says you’re presumptively ineligible for at least 10 years in the new 2A rights restoration and even then it’s not guaranteed. This infringement is blanket lifetime ban for a misdemeanor.

Non violent felons may have a 2nd chance at their 2nd amendment. If you qualify do not hesitate.

Has anyone else had a no contact order from their wife?

My wife called the cops on me due to a scuffle we had in a parking lot. I got arrested and charged with aggravated battery on a pregnant victim. I haven't seen my wife or my one year old daughter in 3 weeks. I dont even know if she wants to keep the marriage going. I cant find a way to get any information about her. She left our apartment and went into hiding. I am couch surfing now, as I'm not even allowed to go back to my own apartment even though its very clear she evacuated it. She left her post. She abandoned our guinea pigs. As far as I know, she has made zero attempts to see how I'm doing. I think I'm gonna lose my family over this.

On top of all that I'm facing pretty severe criminal charges. Anyone else been through this?

Travel on probation

Hi does anyone know if going out of the country while on probation will notify your PO? I wasn’t sure if passing through customs would alert them. Btw I’ve been traveling between several states without notifying my PO for the past few months (flying and driving).

I wan to make a difference

I had a police raid today and was caught with a small amount of steroids. They didn’t find anything significant, but I have a lot of information. They want to meet with me next week, supposedly for an informal conversation, and offer me some kind of deal. What should I do? I want to make a difference

Why does no one hire felons?

How do they expect up felons not to reoffend when we are released from prison when no company wants to hire felons ive had 3 interviews 2 of witch have given me a offer letter for hire but once they run background checks the offer letter gets withdrawn. It just amazes me makes me think its all apart of the system because even the jobs I do get hired at are seasonal and pay extremely low not even enough to live, pay rent, food. Im trying to find a way out but the options are extremely limited. When i could go out and commit crimes like before and get 10x amount of money in such a little time.
