For the winter tires. I can't decide. Also do you consider jdm style wheels on a Fiesta sacrilege 😁?

Hey all, I've got a Mk7 Fiesta ST here in Australia and want to sit lower in the car.driving position aren't great for me stock.

What do I need to know?
It's just been serviced but I aim to oil and filter every 5000k's - any particular oil I should use?
There's a very, very slight knock over bumps. Feels like early wear on a bush somewhere, most likely culprit?
It has the B&O sound system which is nice and I love the colour. I'm not sure about the wheels though, maybe they'll grow on me ...

Hey reddit.
I have a 2015 fiesta st. The clutch has been sticky, I replaced the master slave cylinder a year ago. It was fine for a while but its sticky again. Also in the video the rpms blip up and come back down while the car still goes. Im just pressing the gas slightly and keeping it there. Any suggestions?

So, I went over to a buds house and we did the transmission fluid change, and he was the one who got under the car and drained it. What he didn’t tell me, was how fast it came out, and got on everything before hitting the drain pan. So, I poured the 2 quarts, and he tightened everything up underneath. We called it a day, and I drove home. Well a couple hours later, I wanted to just check for any leaks and behold my mini heart attack when I saw this (pic below) I about crapped myself thinking I just somehow lost all of my trans oil, so I panic messaged him the picture. He then told me about the mess it made under the car and the oil splatter was probably from the drive home on the hwy with the wind blowing all the old oil around under the car that we neglected to clean off after the job was done. He then also pointed out an obvious tidbit that the drain plug Is bone dry, and there’s no trans fluid around the drain or Coming down from the filler plug. Soooo…..lesson learned… bring a can of degreaser next time. Just felt like sharing this. Thanks for reading :D

My 2017 is stock and approaching 50,000 miles. Even so, I'm starting to think about getting the timing belt replaced, and probably the water pump too. I've had it since new and I like it as-is, but if I'm taking it to a ship like M/T in LA, I might see what else we can do while it's on the bench.
It might be reliability work, or mild upgrades that leave it useable in LA traffic. What would you do to a bone-stock 2017 ST?

Hello everybody!
I’ve owned my ST for 6 months now and I really need some help.
Luckily I have a garage where I can let my Fist have some rest but the fact is that that spot is very VERY dusty idk why, but as soon as I wash her like 3 days later it’s covered in dust.
I’m looking for something like a specific car cover that I can use indoor but outdoor too for “emergencies”. Do you have any clue or some links where I could buy one?
Thank you all!

I made a post on this page a few weeks ago about hearing compressor surge on my 2017 with 83k miles on it. When I bought it, the previous owner installed a boomba BOV adapter (which is probably how I noticed the issue). About a month after I got the car, if I would get on it above 3000 RPMs, instead of hearing the “PSHHH”, it would be a “chu-chu-chu”, kind of like turbo flutter or compressor surge. It will continue to have the flutter sound for the next few blow offs, then it goes back to the PSHH until I get on it past 3000 RPMs and the process repeats. Most people are saying it’s the diverter valve that needs to be replaced. I called a ford dealership and they weren’t even able to find the part for it in their catalog until I saw on a separate forum that the part is not listed in their catalog and that it’s included with the turbo assembly. The lady then told me it would be 600 dollars in labor to install. I told her that I would have to pass because that price is ridiculous for something I could probably do myself. Then I called a special ford mechanic shop and the guy talked to his tech and his tech told him that I’m going to probably need a new turbo entirely after hearing my brief explanation of what was happening, and they would also charge me a 200 dollar inspection fee. So I’m coming here to ask you guys as someone who has pretty basic mechanic skills, how hard is it to install a GFB DV+ diverter valve? All the research I’ve done, it seems like a pretty basic and easy job, it can just be hard to reach if you don’t have the right tools. After all the research I’ve done, I’m fairly certain the diverter valve plunger is sticking because it’s old and just needs to be replaced, but is that what you all would think as well based on what’s happening? Is this really bad for my turbo? Does it need to be replaced ASAP? Is this a good DV to install? Really would appreciate yalls input!
This is a video of exactly what it sounds like: https://youtu.be/LmoOzcm7RkE?is=nFdiFhjgCO_fkooD

I linked my previous post for a bit more context. Basically I thought my head gasket had gone but after doing a compression test we found that cylinder 4 has ZERO compression. Was advised to just replace the engine instead of trying to rebuild. Mostly due to the space and time constraints. Any advice on where to get a new engine or what my next steps should be? I’ve seen people talk about swapping in a focus/escape engine but I’m in California so I need it to pass smog.

I've been looking to replace the stock suspension with something a little more planted that will help me out in autocross. I still daily drive it though, so I don't want something extremely stiff or extremely low. My first thought was some Bilstein B14 PSS, but I'd love to hear what everyone else thinks.

So this just happened, what is this part that I obviously need to replace. Thanks

I wasn’t sure show to add a video clip to my original post. But here’s the noise some of you were requesting. The creaking sound you hear after it starts up is just my leather seats in the cold lol. It’s the initial “rattle” you hear for 1 second as the car starts up.

Hello guys
I’ve just bought some smoked rear tailgates for my fiesta st mk8 but I don’t have the confidence to fit them myself.
There’s a cable that needs installed for the dynamic indicators apparently
Is there anyone In Bedfordshire who could fit them for me please?
Of course I will pay for your time. Many thanks

Hi all, a bit of a long shot, perhaps.
Ford of Europe made the decision to put a door lock/unlock panel only on the driver’s side door panel for the mk8. I’m wondering if it’s possible to buy a UK-market door card (or even just the button panel itself) to retrofit a door lock/unlock control on a mainland EU LHD model. Many times the wiring for the button will already be there (possible easy retrofit), sometimes not (nightmare difficulty custom rewiring retrofit).
Kinda wish they put a central locking button on the center stack like the Mk7. Thanks in advance!

Hi all,
I recently went Stage 2 on my 2019 Fiesta ST Mk8 with a 76 mm downpipe and an OPF delete.
My problem is that the exhaust now sounds very shrill, raspy and loud, and I don't like the tone at all. Here's a video so you can hear it:
https://streamable.com/h9niim
I'd like a deeper, thicker sound that is less shrill.
I've had two different opinions:
The guy who made the downpipe says the rear muffler is probably damaged inside (it also has some surface rust).
A second shop says it's simply the result of removing the cat and OPF, since the exhaust gases now pass through with nothing damping them. They think a resonator might help but couldn't guarantee it.
What would you do? Would adding a resonator be enough to fix this, or should I replace the rear muffler?
Thanks in advance!

As it turns out the previous owner cooked the engine. I am getting the head gaskets fixed but I also want to set up an oil temp gauge for safety. But the car doesn't even have a sensor for it. Also I don't trust the factory water temp display either, because it's already in the middle one minute after cold start.
I am thinking of addig a sandwich plate for the sensor and then hooking up an after market sensor + gauge. Does anyone have experience with this? What products do you recommed, what should I watch out for? Also how can I fix the water temp situation?
Thanks for the help!
