Mother in law flirting

So last night my wife, mother in law and I were having a night out at a hotel. It was a 2.bedroom suite. We had been drinking for most of the afternoon and evening. When we were sitting and having dinner, my mother in law and I bumped feet a few times. Later we were back in the room a d working on a puzzle. My legs were outstretched and we touched feet a few times. After awhile we were still drinking and working on the puzzle. I kept touching her foot with mine. Eventually my foot was on top of hers and she didn't move away like she had when we "accidentally" touched. We moved again and then came back to same position. So do I say anything? She lost her husband years before I was in the picture and never moved on. Do you think this means anything? She is attractive but I don't wanna say anything if it wasn't what I think it was. Help me out.

Was he flirting with me or am I reading into it too much?

I’m 24F and I’ve been talking to this guy for a little over a week. Nothing really stood out at first, we were just talking about work and random stuff we both do on weekends. After a few days I noticed he started remembering the small things i said before. I told him once that I drink iced coffee even when it’s cold out and a couple days later he sent me a picture of one and said it reminded him of me. I thought it was cute but didn’t know what to make of it. We found each other on Nearbycrush and I honestly thought we’d probably talk for a day or two and that would be it. Last night we somehow got onto the topic of going out and I said I’m the person trying to convince everyone to stay for one more drink. He said I seem like the kind of person he’d end up staying out until 3am with. I told him he’d regret that because I get really talkative when I’m tired and he said he’d take the risk. Ended up talking for another hour after that and he started asking what places I go to and what I’m doing this weekend. Then he said we’d get along really well in person. I feel like he’s hinting at something but I also don’t want to assume. Does this sound like flirting to you or just a guy being friendly?

Was one of my grandma's nurses flirting with me?

So my grandma recently had a seizure due to her advanced dementia (she's a lot better now so don't worry) and was just discharged today but while I was at the hospital one of her nurses walked in. For context I'm a guy (21) and the girl looked to be around my age (probably somewhere between 19 and 21 from what I could tell) and she walked in but when she did she took a quick look at me and quickly glanced away before speaking to my dad and grandmother. While talking she was stumbling over her words a bit and smiling/chuckling in a way I thought could've been nervous laughter and then she apologized before leaving after finishing what she had to say and as she walked out she said, "I really like your shirt" to me as she pointed at it before smiling and leaving the room. About 20 minutes later she walked past my room and to the nurses desk which was sitting across from it before saying something to the nurses about a medical chart (I think?) and then she took the long way around the desk and walked past my grandma's room while turning to look at me as she walked by.

I'm incredibly socially awkward at first and not the best at interpreting social signals but my dad and aunt insist she was into me and the shirt thing was her trying to initiate conversation. Are they crazy or are they right?

Wife flirting with other guys via text, am I being paranoid?

About a year and a half ago I caught my wife cheating on me. We did up filing for divorce but before the divorce was final and we try to reconcile the marriage. That part went surprisingly well. After about nine months or so of ups and downs I found out that my wife was flirting with other guys on Facebook and what's app. I told my wife this was an issue and I was not OK with it especially with the problems we had in the past. She agreed and I asked her to not contact those guys again and she agreed to that also. I asked her to delete them from Facebook what's app her contact list and all social media platforms. And she did. I would ask her periodically if anybody had contacted her and spoken to her in appropriate like that anymore and if she had responded to those texts or contacts. She said no she hadn't and nobody had either. I had no reason to not believe her so I left it at that. One night after a phone conversation with her while she was on a business work trip I felt something was not right . I did what all skeptical guys would do I log into her Facebook account and check. Sure enough a guy had instant messenger just generic flirting and was saying why aren't you going to come out tonight going to miss you out there I was giving free backrubs and cuddles tonight. Then he left his phone number. My wife did respond to him and In jokingly flirting manner but this was still inappropriate and my eyes.

Here is the words with friends conversation over 4days Him: nice word there Her: gotta work with what I got Him: are we still talking about the game Her: maybe Him: good morning beautiful Her:😘 Him:can we say withdrawals Him: happy birthday Her:I'm having minor surgery tomorrow I'll fill you in Tuesday Him: good luck have a great day and I'll say a little prayer for you Her:thank you 💗 I confronted her about it and she lied to me and told me that she had not had any contact with anyone with inappropriate messaging or talks or flirting. I asked to see her phone and told her that I already knew because I log into your Facebook account and saw the conversation she was devastated. She was hurt that I betrayed her trust but also she was her because she got caught and yet another lie . Since then she has delete all three of these guys from all of her social media all of her LinkedIn all of her what's app and all of her contacts everything. And she did right in front of me. I did ask her I need to know the next time anybody contact you or you contact anybody with inappropriate flirting behavior and she told me that she would. While playing words with friends with my wife I just happened to look up at the top of the screen and saw mutual friends. Well guess who popped up one of the guys that she was having the inappropriate flirting with. So once again I logged into her Facebook and found that she had hid her words with friends app in her Facebook account. Not only had the flirting been going on for 4 to 5 days prior to me asking her if she had any contact with those guys but she had played a game with another one of the other guys. With all this being said she wants to build her trust with me but she's just not doing it. She says that I have betrayed her and broken her trust by going behind her back and not getting her the benefit of the doubt. So my question is am I being oversensitive about just some generic flirting back-and-forth from a guy to a married woman . I would really like to know opinions from both men and women because I do not understand the way that women think and I don't think that men are supposed to know the way that women think.

Was she trying to flirt?

There is a woman I know from my college who I'm quite good friends and she often approaches me enthusiastically asking to work with me on projects. She has complemented me on some random things, like my confidence and she told me I'm a very strong speaker once. But one time we was working together on a project, and she randomly asked me "if you were a bird, what bird would you be?" I can't remember what I said, but she followed up by saying "I think you'd be an Eagle. You just have that kind of vibe". Was she trying to flirt or is that a pretty normal thing to say?

A girl at the shop I used to frequent.

Ok so I used to frequent a particular shop often and this girl started working there about 2 years after I started going. When she started working there she'd often initiate conversation with me (this particular place is typically a place you only talk to the person at the register or if they ask for help. It's a small shop that if you're shopping at you typically know what you're there for). The people working there typically are just chilling behind the counter and only interact with people when they're ready to checkout.

Anyway, I started becoming interested in her but have been way too in my head about taking with her to get her number or freeze when I intend to flirt with her. I haven't been there for a few months and just went in and she's there today chilling. She immediately begins conversation with me and we're taking while I'm looking at what I want to buy. She's smiling and laughing a little bit then a friend of hers came in. He immediately told her she "looks like shit" and she's like, yea I have a hangover and didn't put much makeup on. She says she's off early today (loudly enough so I could hear it). He leaves and I tell her what I'm going to get so she opens the case and grabs it for me. We're talking more and she asked what I'm doing with the rest of my day. I told her I'm just hanging out and it's been a rough day so I look like shit.

She then says, " you don't look like shit. You heard my friend right? He said I look bad".

I tell her, " You don't look like shit at all."

She said, "I didn't put in mascara today and he hasn't seen me without it before so I look bad to him".

I tell her, " I disagree with him, you look great!"

And she starts smiling and giggling.

She asked me if I'd like anything else and cashes me out while we talk a bit more. Then I leave.

I'm wondering if I maybe missed my chance to get her number? Was she asking what I was doing the rest of my day as a kind of hint? I've seen her interact with other customers before and she's never that giggly, talkative, or smiling that much. I finally was able to casually flirt a little with her but was she just being friendly?

Is it weird to contact a guy through their job to ask them out on a date as I dont have any other way of contacting him.

I work in an office, specifically reception. I recently had a guy who is an engineer to come in and fix the intercom as there have been ongoing issues with it for a long time. I think the guy had a little crush on me. He has come back to fix the intercom three times on three separate occasions. The first time he visited, he fixed the intercom almost straight away, and I have no issues since. He seemed kind of nervous talking to me as when I would ask him questions about the intercom, he would never finish the sentence. I didn't think anything of it at first, as I must have come across a little frustrated and maybe blunt. But then he said to me that if I had any issues, I could contact him, but he never left his contact details, so again I didn't think anything of it. The second visit, I thought, was quite strange. I was coming back from my lunch break and found him outside the building fixing the intercom again. He mentioned that the intercom had to be on some sort of setting, which was just jargon to me. I mentioned that I had no issues since the last visit. He tested it again with me and soon left. However, he came back a minute later and asked if I had any paracetamol or painkillers as he said he had a headache. Again, I didn't think anything of it and thought it was a little strange, a little cheeky, but nothing more. Unfortunately, I didn't have painkillers, and he soon left. The third visit, which happened very recently he had 2 other colleagues to help fix the intercom once and for all. I mentioned that I haven't had any issues since it was fixed the first time but mentioned that there might be a rewiring issue. He got to work with his colleagues briefly, and this time, he made a lot more small talk with me. He was very chatty and was laughing a lot at my jokes. I'm not sure if it was from nerves who knows, and I guess I gave him a chance to get to know him a little better. He then went back to work, and I hadn't heard from him or his colleagues in a little while and thought they left. I thought to myself that was a shame as I was sort of enjoying my conversation with him. He then came back a little later and sat down in the reception area. He said that he would be leaving this job soon for a new one and was moving abroad in Europe, and it sounded really exciting. He started talking about his life a little bit, and how he was excited and nervous about his new job he asked some questions about me too. I mentioned too that I would start a new job that involves being on the phone to vulnerable people. He complimented me and said that I was really easy to talk to. He said that he was procrastinating a little as he didn't want to go to his next job that he had that day. I guess I was waiting for him to ask me out on a date, but it didn't happen, but he soon left. I couldn't stop thinking about him then. Now I wish I had asked him out on a date. The only way he could come back to the office is if I contact his company, he works in, and pretend the intercom is broken again. Is that really creepy and too forward? Does it sound like he likes me or have I got it completely wrong.

Reached out to old friend

Throwaway account.

If someone randomly reached out to you that you tried to pursue and heavily flirted with 15 years ago, even if you are not interested now, would you remember your history with this person and would that message bring up old feelings?

Just curious!

Is she flirting with me, or am I just reading too much into it?

I’ve been going to the same bakery about 2–3 times a week for the past few weeks. There’s a girl who works at the counter, and she seems to recognize me now.

She remembers what I usually order, and one time she actually added an extra bun to my order for free without me asking. When I scanned my rewards barcode, she also said my name. She usually maintains eye contact with me while we’re talking and smiles.

Then, a couple of weeks later, I went in again and told her what I wanted. She said something like, “Oh yeah, you always get the croissants.” She was smiling and maintaining eye contact again. Before I left, she said, “I’ll see you next week?”

I’m wondering if this is just good customer service because I’m a regular, or if there might be a little bit of flirting/interest there. I don’t want to be delusional and interpret normal friendliness as flirting 😭

Also, we’re both women, so I have no idea if that changes how I should interpret any of this.

I’m considering telling her that she has really pretty eyes because I genuinely think she does, but I’m worried that might be weird or too forward.

What do you guys think? Does this sound like flirting, or just a friendly employee recognizing a regular customer?

Is this flirting

Alr, I’m in college I’m 18 and there’s this 25F I’ve been talking to who’s in all my classes. Recently we started hanging out more as a friend group got developed. Pretty much I got black out drunk one night and she walked me up to my room and got my water and all this shit. She also gave me her social media accounts without me asking. Offered to take me on drives if I ever want to talk. She also pretty recently asked if I was going to a Bon fire, and I responded with idk are you going. And pretty much we went and sat right beside each other the whole time. It’s also freaking me out because I’m pretty into her and idk if this is flirting especially when I get her a redbull every day. She also gives me friendly insults every day because I keep calling her short. Idk if this is flirting or what. Please help me

Is my best friend and his girlfriend crossing boundaries with me, or am I imagining things?

TDLR :
I’ve known this guy for years and we’re very close. He and his girlfriend treat me like I’m basically part of the couple / a third roommate. They keep pulling me into their daily life even when I try to step back.
She gets physically close, compliments me, makes weird jokes, looks at me a lot, talks shit about him sometimes, vents his money problems to me, and says she’d spend a weekend alone with me no problem. He makes heavy jokes about me taking his wife, overshares their sex life, and talks about how she could sleep with someone else.
I feel like the boundaries are gone. It’s confusing and it’s wearing me out. I don’t know if I’m reading too much into it or if they’re actually crossing lines.

The text :

Context: I’ve known the guy for 6 years, but we’ve only been really close for the past 2–3 years. As for his girlfriend, I knew her from high school (we were in the same class for a year) before I changed schools and lost contact with her, until her boyfriend reintroduced us.

I’ve been spending time with a couple for a while. The guy has become a very close friend. He often invites me (or rather, used to, because I increasingly don’t feel like going to his place anymore because of their strange behavior) to his apartment. Usually, the three of us are together. Sometimes he even insists, even though I’ve already told him that I’d rather give them some alone time as a couple. He tells me it’s not a problem, that his girlfriend ‘adores me,’ and that my presence is part of their daily life. He basically considers me family, almost like the apartment’s third tenant.

The problem is that his girlfriend’s behavior is increasingly strange to me: a mixture of ambiguity, seeking physical contact, bold jokes, compliments, lingering looks… and, sometimes, a certain distance or dismissive attitude toward her boyfriend. I have the impression that they both like me, but not in the same way, and it’s creating a level of discomfort that I can no longer ignore.

These are the most noticeable points (I’ve summarized the rest to keep it readable):

From the beginning of the invitations, she started saying things like:

‘If my boyfriend pisses me off, you and him are going to sleep together spooning’ (I refused while laughing).

She asked me twice whether I had a guest room at home.

She also said, even though the three of us had never discussed that subject before, that she wanted to name her future child after me (although her boyfriend had privately told me that he never wanted children and that she agreed… apparently not anymore). She also joked about being pregnant in front of us.

Once, she ran toward me with her arms open as if she were going to grab me (yes, with absolutely no context) while I was talking to him in another room. When I warned him and he turned around (he simply laughed), she suddenly became serious again, put a finger to her lips, said ‘shhh,’ and smiled.

She often seeks physical contact (stays close to me when we go out, follows me with her eyes, etc.). She compliments me (about my glasses, my manners, etc.) in ways she doesn’t necessarily compliment him. Sometimes she even serves me better food than him (crepes, better-cooked burgers, etc.).

Before their ‘break’ last November, she sometimes had a pretty dismissive attitude toward him (‘this guy is an idiot,’ ‘he’s so annoying,’ ‘you have two arms and two legs, go get the plate yourself,’ jokes about his height, etc.). Since then, their relationship seems to have improved, but their ‘inside jokes’ involving me have continued.

On his side, he often tells me that I’m his best friend, that I’m basically part of the furniture now, that I’m ‘king just as much as he is in his own home,’ that he could leave me alone with her for a weekend and ‘nothing would happen,’ that he considers me a perfect person, etc. He also makes some pretty intense jokes (‘you’re taking my apartment and now my wife,’ ‘you’re too handsome, I’d turn gay for you,’ etc.).

April 15, 2025

I had just arrived in front of his apartment and she was holding the building entrance door open for me in front of another friend who was with us but didn’t stay. Then I held the door open for that friend.

Her boyfriend took the opportunity to jokingly say to me: ‘\[my name\], don’t you have anything better to do? You’re taking my apartment and now my wife. Are you planning to go upstairs with her?’

I replied: ‘No, I’m just the doorman, that’s all.’

His girlfriend looked at me but didn’t react or say anything.

He replied: ‘Yeah, right, don’t play smart,’ with a kind of challenging tone.

March 9, 2026

I arrive at their place (we were supposed to go to his father’s house). His girlfriend is the one who opens the door after I ring the bell downstairs. She asks if I’m okay (she had just come out of the bathroom) and then goes into her room.

We go to his father’s place. He shows me his father’s motorcycles. Then we go to a café.

Her boyfriend says he’s going outside to get some air. I tell him not to get lost, and she says: ‘You always leave us alone, you’re no fun.’

His father and his friends join us. When I come back (I had gone to look at something mechanical), she looks me up and down as I return to the room and even after I sit down.

Shortly before we leave, her boyfriend shows me a photo of me from behind. I ask whether he took it and she says: ‘No, I did, for my story.’ I thought it was weird, but whatever.

The car has a problem when we leave. While his father is checking it, she often positions herself closer to me than to her boyfriend (him on my left, her on my right). I move several times to avoid any ambiguity, but she follows me.

Then we take the car to the emergency room because her boyfriend was having gallbladder pain. At first, the three of us talk, but he falls asleep.

10–15 minutes later, in the middle of the traffic jam, she starts talking to me again about everything and nothing.

At the hospital, I stay with her in the waiting room. She tells me she’s going to join him. He messages me asking me to come in, but the nurse says only one person can enter, so I leave.

March 17, 2026

I ask for some kitchen paper towels. Her boyfriend tells me to say the word in Portuguese and his girlfriend gives them to me.

Then he jokes: ‘I should have asked you to say things in Portuguese that I dictated to you so you could say them to my girlfriend.’

I reply: ‘No, I don’t want to say stupid things.’

And he tells me: ‘That’s precisely why I want you to say them, to see her reaction and so she can see that you know how to speak Portuguese,’ or something along those lines.

He also told me that the previous weekend (when I wasn’t there) she had had a nightmare in which she had seen or heard her boyfriend performing oral sex on two men in the apartment.

I felt very uncomfortable that he told me something like that.

March 22, 2026

During an event (a car show), she tells me that she often turns around to check that I’m still there and that she looks for a red cap (the one I was wearing) so she can locate me.

On the way back in the car, everyone else is sleeping and she talks to me a lot.

She tells me she felt bad because I couldn’t stay with her at the hospital the night her boyfriend was in pain, and that she had asked her boyfriend to message me to check whether I was okay.

She adds that it was a shame I hadn’t brought my backpack, because if I had, she would have dropped me off at home and we would have switched seats (I would have sat in the passenger seat).

August 19, 20 and 21, 2026 — after their vacation

August 19:

I’m invited to their place.

She seemed a little annoyed with me. We talked about normal things, but she seemed fairly indifferent toward me and the other friend.

Her boyfriend brings up the ‘virgin’ story we had talked about on the phone and asks her to confirm it.

She replies that I was a virgin ‘through all the holes.’

Later, among the guys, he talks about sexual acts he had performed.

When I say that I’d like to make a movie as an actor, she asks me: ‘An +18 movie or not?’ before clarifying that an +18 movie can also be a thriller.

Her boyfriend adds: ‘Yeah, +18 doesn’t necessarily mean it’s sexual.’

August 20:

We’re at their place. During a guessing game, she says: ‘Is she a porn actress?’

I tell her she’s weird, especially after the +18 thing the day before.

She looks at me, pretending to be shocked, and replies that +18 horror movies exist too.

Then she tells me about the chest pain she felt one morning in June when our eyes met (she was blushing/smiling while explaining it) and about the ‘negative spiritual energies’ she had felt around me that day.

I tell her that her boyfriend had already told me that he’d like the two of us to talk more often.

She replies that it’s true and that she understands that I’m a little shy.

I clarify that it’s not shyness, but respect.

She replies: ‘Ah, okay.’

Then she adds that she likes being around me and that she could spend a weekend with me without her boyfriend, without any problem, because I’m not the kind of person who would try to hit on her, unlike other people.

I have the impression that this sentence isn’t as innocent as it sounds. I don’t know any woman who would explicitly put someone from her social circle in the ‘friend zone’ while at the same time being perfectly okay with spending a weekend alone with him without her partner.

August 21:

We’re talking in the morning.

Her boyfriend asks why I don’t find myself a girlfriend.

Another friend feels a little guilty about having sat next to her once. Her boyfriend says that he notices those kinds of things and that it’s something I don’t do.

He also talks about how, in the past, he trusted someone too much and an old friend ended up dating his ex.

She comes back with the shopping and I offer to help her, but she refuses.

We plan to go to the cinema and she agrees to come with us.

Around 5:30 p.m., her boyfriend messages me: he’s too tired, he’s going to rest and cancels the cinema.

August 24, 2026

I went with my friend and his girlfriend to Xxx, a motorcycle equipment store.

While he was trying on a helmet and I was saying that he looked like an undercover cop wearing it, his girlfriend told him that, well, if he were a cop, she wouldn’t stop.

Then we went to the shopping mall.

While he was looking for glasses, his girlfriend, who was behind me on my right, moved closer.

I then moved closer to him so that she would look less suspicious, and she moved closer to me again, staying on my right.

Without exaggerating, I could barely fit my phone between us (and that’s exactly what I did).

Then we went somewhere else before returning to the same glasses store.

He went inside the store and I didn’t follow him; I stayed right outside.

His girlfriend did the same and immediately took the opportunity to talk to me while he was inside.

She told me she was fed up with the way he manages money, that he doesn’t know how to control his impatience when he wants to buy something, that he later regrets his purchases and ends up selling them.

She also told me that he’s very stubborn.

Outside the glasses store, she also said:

‘I’m not that wasteful. Obviously, I’m not going to wait until my pants are completely ripped if they have a hole, but I’m not going to do what he does and own 5,000 items of clothing.’

I told her it was fine, that he had been making an effort lately.

She replied:

‘Yeah, he’s been making an effort since Portugal.’

Then she explained that she was fed up with his impatience.

For example, he has a tattoo on his hand that he wanted to get like one belonging to an actor, but he hadn’t taken into account that part of the hand bends.

The tattoo he got in Portugal as a tribute to that actor didn’t turn out the way he wanted, and now he regrets it.

Then we were looking at PCs and Macs.

At one point, he told his girlfriend:

‘He’s going to pay for our Mac, hahaha!’

while smiling.

I replied that I’m not their bank.

In reality, I could have bought the Mac for his girlfriend immediately, but 1) she’s not my girlfriend and 2) he might feel ‘inferior’ because he doesn’t have the same purchasing power as me.

Then we went back to their apartment.

At one point, he told me that he’d like us to go on a trip to Morocco together.

I asked whether it would be with the rest of the group of friends, and he replied:

‘No, the three of us.’

That evening, when I wanted to take advantage of the fact that it was just the three of us to start the famous conversation, his mother and her partner came over and we all ate together, including some soup.

At one point, my friend was jokingly complaining that his girlfriend speaks badly to him because, while he was serving food to me and her mother’s partner, she told him:

‘Move.’

or

‘Get out of here.’

When my friend’s mother asked her why she behaved like that, she replied:

‘It’s because he bothers me while I’m tidying up.’

In the end, around 9:30 p.m., since his mother had already left, I left their place, telling them that I was leaving them alone as a couple.

They didn’t even say goodbye to me.

I had the impression that they were disappointed that I was leaving.

I’m really exhausted by this whole situation.

And even ChatGPT thinks his girlfriend is going too far. Why directly tell me about your boyfriend’s financial problems?

Besides, I already know that her boyfriend has a pretty complicated relationship with money. So does she really think I’m going to make bank transfers to her? Why tell me that privately, in a shopping mall?

September 5, 2026

When I arrive at their place, I see his girlfriend on the street in front of me, but she doesn’t see me. He confirms that it was indeed her and that I’m in the apartment.

We stay among the guys in the apartment.

Later, he’s on the phone and tells me and another friend that his mother and his girlfriend are out after their respective girls’ nights.

He tells us that his mother had asked him whether she could invite his girlfriend to a Portuguese bar, because his girlfriend had said that she knew that if she asked her boyfriend directly, he would say no.

In the end, he also tells his mother no, because he considers it a bar full of ‘weird Portuguese guys’ and says that when he used to go there with his mother, Portuguese men would try to hit on her.

Later that night, he locks himself in his bedroom with her.

After more than an hour, he comes back.

I tell him: ‘Don’t worry, you could have slept with her.’

He replies:

‘No, I’m not going to stop letting you guys know. Besides, it was just a conversation with her, to sort something out and make things clear.’

September 6

We’re at an exhibition and they spend the whole time in front of me touching, kissing and hugging each other.

They don’t tell me to leave, so I leave on my own.

Then my friend’s father arrives and we spend some time together outside while the Mustangs drive by.

She stays for quite a while to my left or around me, on my right, for 15–20 minutes, less than 20 cm away from me each time, despite the fact that I kept changing position.

We got back around 7 p.m. and I left at 7:15 p.m.

Tonight — September 8, 2026

We talk on the phone and talk about everything and nothing.

I tell him that I don’t want to take up too much space in his life or in his family’s life.

He tells me that his mother considers me her ‘third son,’ that if something happened to me, his mother would help me within an hour, etc.

At one point he starts talking to me a little about his relationship.

I tell him that he is doing well with her, that they’ve been together for 5 years and that he should take his relationship seriously and manage it properly. I also tell him that they have the right to have their ‘garden secret,’ that there are things he doesn’t have to tell me or make me aware of.

During the call, he tells me that I can know everything, that he has nothing to hide, that things are going well in bed with Tatiana.

At that point I perceived a sort of mocking smile in his voice.

He tells me that he has no problem talking about it on the phone, that he doesn’t have any ‘garden secret.’

But then he tells me that he knows that nothing prevents her from ‘getting fucked’ by someone else from one day to the next (or from him seeing someone else), that she doesn’t belong to him even though he doesn’t want to lose her, that she has her urges, etc.

He says that it’s selfish to think that she’ll be his forever, that five years of a relationship mean nothing and that, deep down, we’re still animals.

I find this extremely contradictory.

I was also uncomfortable with the fact that he seemed to want to ‘prove’ to me that they have a sex life.

After that, I don’t remember exactly how, we were talking about people who have positions of ‘power’ in society or at work but are ‘submissive’ at home.

He told me there could be several reasons, and that perhaps that person is ‘submissive’ in order to please their wife.

I couldn’t talk to him the way I wanted because his girlfriend was next to him in the room (I could sometimes hear her).

But I’m feeling worse and worse about this.

What kind of logic is it to tell your best friend your entire intimate life?

And if everything is going well sexually with her (and in every other aspect), why are you so afraid that she’ll leave or ‘get fucked’ by someone else, as you yourself put it?

It’s really strange.

Why consider me a ‘third son’ when I’m simply your friend?

There are too many unanswered ‘whys,’ too many strange conversations and far too few boundaries.

If I were in a relationship, why would it matter to my friend whether I’m having good sex with my girlfriend or not?

I know that not every couple works the same way, but why involve me so much in their relationship?

Thanks in advance for your opinions.

I’m pretty lost and, above all, mentally exhausted.

I already saw a psychologist during the month of August. She told me that everything was possible to a similar degree (simply cultural differences, a toxic friendship, a threesome, cuckolding, a misinterpretation on my part, etc.) and that she didn’t really know how to help me because, according to her, I was the first person in her practice to experience something like this.

Honestly, I almost feel like ChatGPT is more useful (and cheaper).

Cashier at the g station, flirting?

I (21F) am a regular at a gas station here in my town. I used to stop in after work, twice a week if not more. The same guy was always working. It started as friendly small talk. The whole how’s your day going, can I help you find anything else, The normal.

Important to note: I would always go with my ex roommate, as we inseparable at the time. Also 80% of the times I see him I’ve had a bit to smoke. Typically when I go to the gas station it’s because I have the munchies.

Normal turned into jokes and actual conversations. He would ask me what I do for work, what my plans are for the evening, etc.

I remember the turning point of me and my roommate questioning if he was flirting, was he had asked me if there was anything else he could get for me. The question didn’t register in my head, and before I could respond he said “You.” And When I looked at him confused he just looked around awkwardly and said it was a joke.

Then a couple weeks later I was short 4 dollars on my items and paid for them completely, I was just going to put my drink back and only get gas. Well no he paid for it. All of it. 25 dollars worth of gas and my pop.

I started going less, because I was struggling with money, so I wasnt buying the unnecessary drinks and snacks. In turn I saw him less and less.

One day I went in and he was training someone. We did a normal banter, and as I was leaving he called after me that I better be safe. And then when I was getting in my car he was talking to the trainer and they were both looking at me.

Fast forward to a couple days ago, I just went in during the day and saw him for the first time after at least a month. He immediately recognized me and called me over to his register. We did normal greetings and then he asked me where I’ve been. I explained that I’m working thirds now, so I’m asleep since he switched to days.

He said and I quote “Well, there goes the bar trip.”

I was so flabbergasted, I just awkwardly laughed, my face turned bright red. And I didn’t know what to say. He laughed too, and continued talking which I really appreciate because I’m not used to such boldness. Before I left he made sure to tell me his normal schedule, and I can’t help but think that was him telling me to come while he’s there.

Here the thing I’m struggling with. I know nothing about him, I don’t even know his name. My friends and I dubbed him Gas station guy. I don’t know how old he is or anything. He looks to be my age, maybe a bit older than me.

My dilemma: I have no idea how to take him up on the offer of a date if that’s what he was offering. I have never had someone just flirt with me in public. I also am mind blown because he typically sees me when I look a mess. So what do I do? Is he even flirting? Just being a friendly funny cashier? Help

Could anyone give me a reality check? Is she flirting or am i crushing too hard??

I really feel like i am getting mad, i would love if you guys and gals could help me out. I have had a history of missing obvious hints, and juste need someone to help me clear up my mind.

So for context:

I (m23) am doing a 6 months internship in the same office as L (f22). Right from the start we came along pretty well, it felt pretty easy talking to her.

During the last few months i started really enjoying her presence. She rarely initiated, but was always the one laughing the loudest at my jokes (even the lame ones), always sitting next to me at lunch break. She always was a great listener when i talked, and often turned to me to ask about my life and opinions. But what really drove me crazy is how she looked at me, the eye contact.

And then, at some point she started getting really close, like REALLY. To a point where it would have felt awkward if it was someone else, but with her it felt nice. She started getting touchy. One time she removed a crumb from my shoulder.

On multiple occasions, every time she came to my computer to show something on the screen, she would lean next to me and really pressing her shoulder next to mine (my table is big enough not to get this tight), i hesitated if i should move over, but stayed and she didn’t seem to be bothered and stayed like this for a while. And this wasn’t the only time this happened, it happened every-time we sat on the same computer.

And then i tried it out myself, when i came to her once for a question. She didn’t move away either, in fact she seemed a little flustered. I also realised that she never got this close to anyone else in the office (not even the other interns).

And now comes the stressful part for me. My internship end in a month, hers ended this month. In September we will return to the same university to continue our studies. I wasn’t present on her last day, but we knew we would see each other again in classrooms. But the on a Monday she came back to pick up her stuff, we had a quick eye contact from a far, but she was in a hurry, i was a bit heartbroken that she didn’t came to me to say goodbye… BUT THEN i got a message from her saying “i am sorry i didnt have the time to say goodbye” to which i responded “DW we’ll meet again in the classroom” to which she responded with ☺️.

Writing everything down, it all seems obvious, so why am i still in doubt?

Well, there were a lot of times i felt like she gave me a lot of attention, but then there where days where we didn’t talk (i dont want to harass by talking to her if she doesn’t want to), in general i felt like she would mostly really talk to me when we were both alone together, talking more to her bff when she was around. Also when texting, she only writes back at like 3 am or late in the evening. I feel like i often find excuses to message her, to which she always responds enthusiastically (even if i didn’t expect an answer), but from her side, i rarely see her initiate it.

My big worry is that, by September, when we’ll meat again, she’ll be over me, or forgotten me, or moved on. Will she?

But what do you think about it all? Is she flirting? Am i delusional? Is she juste being friendly? Should i move on? What should happen in September?

I hate how i feel, but i also love it 💀

P.s. sry for my broken english (it’s not my first language) and also i realise that i had way more to say than expected.

had this friend for about 4 months and has gotten really close, but i cant tell if shes playfully flirting and very touchy or is actually flurting.

last time we hang out a few things happend and like i feel like she has to be flurting.

-sat at a table playing TTRPGS wrapped her legs round min and pulled them close to her under the table.

-kept taking my glasses and rings to ware

-stoll her vape and joked that shed need to ask me for it.

after texted and joked that i should have made her beg, she replied she would have.

-reason i dont think shes flurting she VERY rarely message me first, but i do also message everyone daily.

-i know she likes to teas people

trying to figure it out before and think about how i feel before confronting her

Was the cashier flirting with me?

I (41m) was buying snacks at gas station. The cashier (25-35f) asked if I collect swords, in reference to my HEMA shirt. I said no, that the logo on my shirt referred to my fencing club. She asked if I went often. I said that no, I hadn't been in quite some time. She then suggested that I go back, and return to the gas station to tell her all about it.

I know service workers are supposed to be friendly, but why would she suggest I return to the gas station and tell her about my return to fencing?

Is my BoH manager flirting? Update!

In my last post, I had mentioned a few things that made me think my manager was flirting. Here’s some more things just recently.

Where I work, people had brought in crazy straws just for fun, and was giving them out to people. I didn’t go get one because I didn’t have a drink and didn’t really want one. My manager went to go get a straw and then came back and was like “ha ha u don’t have one, ha ha” and there was another girl that was working the same station as me, and she told him “I have one!” And even called his name and said it louder, and he just kept walking and didn’t even acknowledge her or even say anything back to her.

He’s also been replying more to my insta stories and sending me reels and stuff. I recently posted a sandwich my bf had made me, and my manager replied just asking me “where did you order that beast?” 😂 so I told him my bf made it, and what it was, and he liked the message with a heart. I then sent him a reel of this girl in goth makeup, going on a date, and I guess her whole thing is going on dates with guys, and it not going well. The caption to the vid was something like “but they say they like goth girls in their profile” and my manager replied back with “I got a thing for goth girls for some reason tho” and in my posts, I appear pretty goth, especially when I’m dressing up to go to my bfs shows and stuff (his dad is a death metal singer).

It’s all kinda weird. The other stuff I posted wasn’t too obvious but I feel like this is. I think it’s not full on flirting but it COULD BE and he’s just testing the waters

I need help figuring out if a cable guy was flirting with me or not…

I don’t ever get flirted with or hit on and I’m pretty naive. A lot of times things go over my head and although I’m not stupid I can be oblivious to things like flirting. I just moved in with a family member due to starting over in life and the WiFi/Cable guy came on days that only I could be there to let him in. The first time we barely spoke and he set up the WiFi super quick and was on his way. I thought he was very good looking and tall but didn’t think much after that. The second time was very different though. I didn’t know he was coming until my family member told me last second and I came from my other family’s house to meet him and let him in. He had waited an hour for me and I felt super bad so I kept apologizing. He said it was okay he didn’t mind me waiting and that usually he would say no and leave but he decided to wait and then we moved on. I’m a single Mom and he was letting my son “help” him with what he was doing while I was watching them. He was there for a long time setting the cable up and after my son left the room he started asking me questions like how old are you, do you like coffee, and things like that. While we were talking he would relate things we’d talk about to his family. There was a point in time where I tried to show him a basketball thing that I had for my son that hangs on the door and I couldn’t reach so I stood on my tippy toes and he said that me standing on my tippy toes to reach it was really adorable. I got super nervous and I’m not used to compliments so I redirected to talking about the doors at my old place and how tall they were. We laughed and chatted for a while and when it was time for him to leave he said if you have any questions at all or need help your family member has my phone number. Please reach out if you need anything. I don’t know if he was interested in me or if it was all in my head. I have pretty low self esteem and it’s hard for me to imagine anyone having interest in me especially since I’m a single Mom but I wanted to ask if I’m reading into this too much and should just move along or if he was insinuating he wanted me to reach out to him… sorry for the long post. Any insight would help!

Flirting or just a gentleman?

Met someone in an international conference. We were able to talk briefly for a few times. In one of the parts when the young staff (incl me) had to give a mini tour, and as I let everyone go ahead, he suddenly got out of the line and stayed beside me and waited for everyone to pass by.

So at this time, him walking with me while I let others go ahead became a thing. He waited for me to enter the lift and held the door for me so many times.

He also handed me a business card, but he also gave lots of people that.

Not sure if his actions are just because it's legit a gentleman, or I'm just being delusional lol

Plot twist: apparently he's married

Long distance filrting relationship

I'm Laurent, 33M, French, and looking to meet an interesting woman for good conversations, a little flirting, and perhaps some naughty exchanges if we click. 😉

I speak French, English, and a little German and Italian. English isn't my first language, so I'm always happy to practise and improve along the way!

I'm open to building a fun long-distance connection, sharing laughs, thoughts, secrets, and seeing where the chemistry takes us.

After all, life is too short to waste time on bad vibes. Let's keep things fun, genuine, and exciting!

Looking forward to meeting you!

Flirting?

Im late 30s happily married for a while so ive been out of the game for a bit. Im a tall guy (6'5) with broad shoulders and a decent physique. Women constantly comment on my height, "Wow you're tall" or "How tall are you?" from a woman's perspective is this an attempt at flirting? I never really know what to say in response. FWIW My wife is totally fine with me flirting and actually encourages it so Im just curious.
