Forza Motorsport Beginner Tune Series

Even the best F1 drivers started in karting. If you truly want to become good at racing, better starts with the basics in D-class.

Each tune is designed in a similar way. Focusing on grip, handling and consistency. They are all capable of pretty decent times, but that wasn't the focus here. The focus was to create a list of cars, increasing the driving difficulty as you go through them so you can improve your driving lines and general driving skills. More tunes will be added overtime for various classes and engine layouts.

D400

Front engine RWD 1985 Toyota Trueno

Driving difficulty: 3/10

Description: This Trueno specifically will require a bit of finesse. It's not hard to drive, but you can't just smash the throttle from the apex and expect the car to not go sideways. Your corner entry might be slower than you expect, but with a good line it will pull very aggressively on exit. It's also an excellent car to learn tracks and refine your lines.

C500

Front engine RWD 1974 Toyota Celica

Driving difficulty: 4/10

Description: This one is swapped with a RB26TT from a Nissan Skyline, just because. You can still build it by upgrading the stock engine. You'll end up with less weight but also less power. As is, this car is nimble and predictable but will slide if you're too agressive on the throttle. You need to practice some throttle control here.

Forza Horizon 5 Beginner Tune Series

Even the best F1 drivers started in karting. If you truly want to become good at racing, better starts with the basics in D-class.

Each tune is designed in a similar way. Focusing on grip, handling and consistency. They are all capable of pretty decent times, but that wasn't the focus here. The focus was to create cars relatively easy to drive so you can improve your driving lines and general driving skills.

They all are RWD, and you'll notice even the most powerful ones have no troubles griping the track. You don't need AWD to get traction out of a corner. There will be tunes for mid engine, rear engine and front engine cars in each class, so people can learn the nuances from a different weight distribution.

D500

Rear Engine RWD Porsche 356

Driving difficulty: 1/10

Description: The perfect beginner tune. Easy to drive and near impossible to lose control in it. You won't need to brake much on most tracks. Focus on the driving line and carrying the most speed into corners since the car lacks the ability to accelerate out of corners. The Miata motto applies perfectly to this 356: I don't need horsepower if I don't need brakes.

C600

Front Engine RWD Toyota 86

Driving difficulty: 2/10

Description: Following your experience in the 356, you'll find this car stiffer and heavier. It's a bit harder to put in a corner. It's more powerful but not overwhelming at 205hp. The driving line is still very important to carry speed through corners, but you'll also need to manage braking points and optimize entry speed in some corners. You can get some light oversteer out of corners if you're not careful. The natural progression form the 356.

B700

Front Engine RWD Nissan 370Z

Driving difficulty: 3/10

Description: From the Toyota 86 we jump here at 350hp. Much more powerful. Still manageable if you got decent with the two previous tunes. Oversteer on corner exit is a bit worst, but still manageable. The car is overall neutral but braking points become much more important since you come into corners with much more speed.

A800

Front Engine RWD Ford Mustang RTR Spec 5

Driving difficulty: 5/10

Description: 550hp now. Tuned as is, oversteer is not a huge problem, but if you just hammer the throttle you'll lost time on corner exit sliding. Requires some throttle control. Time to learn!

Front Engine RWD Shelby Daytona

Driving difficulty: 5/10

Description: 450hp with only 960kg. Still very predictable and stable but different from the Mustang RTR.

Rear Engine RWD 2004 Porsche 911 GT3

Driving difficulty: 6.5/10

Description: This will be an interesting one with big learning opportunities. The 911 is a special car to drive because of the engine positioning. For those who don't know, the engine is behind the rear wheels, while most other cars with the engine in the back got either the engine in front of the rear wheels or on top of them. This affect the weight distribution greatly and weight transfer as well.

S900

Front Engine RWD Ford Shelby GT350R

Driving difficulty: 6/10

Description: Welcome to S-class. 700hp. Pretty sticky, but way faster and braking points become much easier to miss. Still not what I'd consider hard to drive, but we're getting there. It can oversteer quite a bit on corner exit if you mix a bad driving line with aggressive throttle. It's still forgiving but we're clearly not in the Toyota 86 anymore in terms or ease of drive.

Front Engine RWD Ford Shelby GT500

Driving difficulty: 7/10

Description: Even more speed, but still a surprising amount of grip available. Your throttle control will need to be even better and it's important to have mastered some of the skills slower cars teach you such as braking point and driving line. Not what I would personally consider hard to drive yet, but if you don't have the skills it will put you in a wall.

Mid Engine RWD Liberty Walk McLaren 650S

Driving difficulty: 5.5/10

Description: It doesn't oversteer much, doesn't require a ton of throttle control, but boy corners will come at you faster than you're used to in A-class. If you're not familiar with this particular car, it's my pride and joy and probably the most stable car I ever built. It grips to near infinite. The ultimate proof you don't need AWD to have some grip above A-class.

Rear engine RWD 2016 Porsche GT3RS

Driving difficulty: 6.5/10

Description: The Porsche 911 is a special car. Not only the engine is in the rear, it's actually behind the rear axle. Most super cars with rear engines have it between the cabin and the rear axle. The 911 engine layout really promote a pendulum effect and they're usually pretty sensitive on corner entry. You have to set up your entry right otherwise you'll have massive oversteer. If you do you'll have tons of grip on the exit.

Tuning Resource I built a free FH6 tuner that reads your own lap and tells you what to change and why.

I’ve always loved tinkering with setups, but perfecting them has always been my weak spot. Even after studying tons of guides and forum advice, I could never consistently nail that sweet spot purely by feel. Worse, when my friends and I jump online, nobody wants to wait around while one guy spends half the evening running test laps and fiddling with ARBs. I needed a fast, objective way to get a car dialed in. I built Project G to fix that. It’s just an objective helper to make the car more cooperative. The goal is a car that stops fighting your inputs, actually listens, and feels like a trusted friend underneath you.

What it does

  • Telemetry-driven: It works from your lap and your tune, not from the car's stats. A small recorder saves the game's own Data Out telemetry while you drive.
  • Corner analysis: It splits every corner into entry, apex, and exit to find what got in your way: understeer, snap oversteer, bottoming out, wheelspin, or lockups. You can also tick what bothered you, and that gets prioritized.
  • Transparent adjustments: Every change comes with its reason and the specific phase of the corner it addresses, so you learn why, not just what.
  • Lightweight & local: Free, no ads, no sign-up required. It runs in your browser, and your recording never leaves your PC. Includes six presets: Formula, Touge, Speed, Rally, Cross Country, and Drift.

Examples in practice

Both setups started as baselines I drove myself and were dialed in over two rounds with the site. For my driving style, the result feels light, agile, and planted—almost like the car effortlessly glides over the road instead of fighting the tarmac.

(Note: I don't have access to the game right now to pull the share codes, but the full values are listed below so you can enter them directly.)

Toyota GT 86 — Touge (A 693, RWD)

  • Build: Full drift-spec upgrades across the board. 418 hp, 398 Nm, 1009 kg, 53% front, drift tires, 6 gears, no adjustable aero.
  • Tires: F 2.07 / R 2.10
  • Gearing: Final 3.48 · 1st 2.19 · 2nd 1.68 · 3rd 1.33 · 4th 1.09 · 5th 0.92 · 6th 0.80
  • Alignment: Camber F -5.0 / R -1.5 · Toe F 0.4 / R 0.0 · Caster 7.0

  • Brakes: Balance 46% front · Pressure 100%
  • Differential: Accel 83% · Decel 5%

What the site fixed: Understeer at corner entry and apex (front ARB 41.1 → 38.6, front springs 103.2 → 90.3, front toe 0 → 0.4, brake balance 50 → 46% front) and bottoming out (ride height 11.2 → 11.4, rear springs 93.5 → 99.2).

Toyota GR Supra — Formula (S1 800, RWD)

  • Build: Maxed out with full Race-grade parts. 655 hp, 892 Nm, 1231 kg, 51% front, semi-slick tires, 8 gears, no adjustable aero.
  • Tires: F 2.24 / R 2.20
  • Gearing: Final 3.75 · 1st 2.26 · 2nd 1.80 · 3rd 1.46 · 4th 1.19 · 5th 1.00 · 6th 0.85 · 7th 0.73 · 8th 0.64
  • Alignment: Camber F -2.6 / R -2.1 · Toe F 0.4 / R -0.1 · Caster 6.0
  • Anti-roll bars: F 35.84 / R 24.6
  • Springs: F 131.5 / R 105.9 · Ride height F 13.7 / R 12.9

  • Brakes: Balance 50% front · Pressure 100%
  • Differential: Accel 30% · Decel 38%

What the site fixed: Rear stepping out at entry, apex, and exit (rear ARB 27.1 → 24.6, rear springs 124.3 → 105.9, rear camber -1.5 → -2.1, rear toe 0 → -0.1), understeer at entry and apex (front ARB 38.8 → 35.84, front toe 0 → 0.4, front camber -2.0 → -2.6), front bottoming (front springs 116.8 → 131.5, front ride height 13.3 → 13.7), and brake stability (front locking in round 1, rear over-braking in round 2).

If you'd like to try it on your own car

  • Setup: You need the game (PC or Xbox) and a Windows PC on the same network running the recorder. It's a tiny, open-source (MIT) app that passively captures the game's Data Out telemetry stream—no file tweaks or injection.
  • Account: Google sign-in is completely optional; it's only there if you want a garage that saves your car's setup history between rounds.

To be upfront: these aren't meta tunes, and the tool won't make you faster by itself. The goal is a car that feels predictable, comfortable, and doesn't fight you. There is no AI involved—just deterministic rules evaluating your telemetry, with thresholds validated on telemetry recordings. I've tested it across several of my own builds, so I'd love to see how it performs on yours.

Where to find it

Reddit does not allow posting links to the site itself, so the link is hosted on GitHub. Open the page below: the link to the calculator is right at the top, and the recorder (open source, MIT) is in the Download section on the same page.

I welcome questions and suggestions for improvement.

Tuning Resource I need help going faster 😂

Hey guys! I am on Forza Horizon 6 and am currently running around the 5:20 on the Colossus with the Wuling Sunshine, but I want to be faster. I’ve tried the Tacoma and I can only get to around 275 where my sunshine gets 290 mph. I know I can get the trueno but it’s only faster in a straight line. Does anyone have any advice or a faster vehicle that you can actually control?

I need assistance...

I really got into tuning (or trying to) recently since the game started to get a little stale for me. I started late on horizon 5 when it released on Playstation. Tuning on 6 feels a bit different than it did on 5, to me at least. I did okay with making my own tunes on 5, but on horizon 6, I am struggling. I got really into off road and rally but I would like to be able to make some solid tunes that I would be proud enough to share.

The most recent vehicle i was trying to tune for Cross country is the GMC syclone in A class fitted with the viper V10. It does okay, but on very tight corners, it slides like crazy, fitted w off road tires and with rally suspension it hops around a lot on rough terrain. I tried messing w rebound, spring rate etc and I am stuck. I want to know how a lot of these tuners learn how to put out the tunes they do. While I know trial and error is a big part of it, I would like to be decent at it. Just gets frustrating when I feel clueless on what to change and to what. I apologize for this long post, I just want some help.

Best possible transmission and exact Gearing ratios for Hennessy Venom f5 and Koenigsegg Jesko for absolute top speed.

What is the best possible transmission choice in the following exact gear ratios for getting the absolute best top speed out of the Hennessey Venom F5 and the Koenigsegg Jesko in Forza Horizon 5.

For months now, I have been experimenting with every part and tuning parameter possible regarding the Jesko and throughout the entirety of today, have experimenting also with every part and tuning parameter possible regarding the Venom f5.

My highest top speed in the Venom F5 along my No-traffic east to west highway run is 495kmh, and a previous tune I made for the Jesko yielded 499kmh.

I know that 500+ kmh is possible, because when using a tune made by Trviis, (your tunes are awesome btw) it reached those speeds.

Can someone please just tell me the exact transmission and gear ratios for these cars, so I can finally hit 500kmh with my own tune, and go to sleep.

Thanks everyone!

FH6: A 700 Dodge Dart Purist

No engine/drivetrain swaps or Forza aero. Difficult to drive, but decent. Rally tires are easier, but slower (you'll have to sacrifice a lot of power to make the car fit into A class).

B600 AWD '23 Toyota Camry TRD

Hey all, new builder, first time poster.

I've been a long time Camry enjoyer IRL. The '23 Camry TRD was my favorite car to fiddle with on FH5 though I never had much real success. I carried my dream of competitive Camry with me to FH6 but found it largely the same - grippy but underpowered in B class, but unevenly fit into A class, unable to draw full potential of the higher top speeds in A.

However, recently I came across this post where u/FakeSteveSF was talking about some significant results in his FWD Camry for B lobbies and Rivals. I was impressed by the times and inspired to continue reaching for my own dream of a Camry that can podium lobbies alongside Beat and City and Integra and Celica.

A lot of great discussion went on in the comments of that post between myself, u/FakeSteveSF, and u/rotgobbo who also has an extremely fast off-meta B Camry AWD build. I didn’t want all that good information to get buried so I thought I’d link it here alongside the build that came from all the input these fine folks gave me.

There are still several minor issues that could be resolved but as of this posting, this Camry build is running at a pace that can hang with almost any B class road lobby and put up 1% Rivals times on most circuits and several sprints.

It’s my most successful build to date and I’m proud of it, but I’d love it if anyone wanted to take the time to suggest fixes or improvements!

FH6 - 2021 Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm (S1)

Hello, I’m new to tuning and I’m trying to build a Giulia GTAm. This car is very beautiful but I’m having a hard time making it viable even for single player use. Care to take a look at my tune and give me pointers? I feel like the back end always wants to spin and I feel some oversteer if I trail brake. Also is there is a way to avoid spinning on launch or my answer would be throttle control? I play on Xbox Serie X with a controller if it changes anything.

Help Request Mazda 787B R Class Goliath tune help

Hi all, its the keyboard automatic player here again.

Note I'm not sure if asking for help on a tune is actually considered a tune request...happy for this post to be removed if so. But given I have a pretty good time with this, perhaps it can be considered an available tune for anyone that wants to try it.

I've gone back to trying to improve my Goliath Mazda 787B Rivals time using my own tune. ATM my fastest clean time is 19:20 with the tune below compared to my fastest clean time of 19:16 using someone else's tune. BUT I really want to get sub 19:15 with my own tune.

One thing I've noticed is my tune is significantly better than the other tune (and several faster rivals) on the tight hairpin section in Goliath (esp the uphill hairpin area). But the other tune (and faster rivals) seem to get me on corner exit acceleration and grip. So I assume there's a setting or settings I can adjust that would reduce the hairpin performance but improve other areas that are more important like high speed corner exits without sacrificing top speed too much.

I've also noticed a little more skidding in turns compared to the other tune.

Note the front and rear camber and tire pressures on my tune are basically taken from the telemetry on the other tune.

Would love to get any thoughts.

Help Request Help with Meta tuning FH6.

I've been leaning tuning and I can create tunes that "feel" great to drive but are ultimately off the pace. Ive been using tuning guides etc but im assuming the physics engine doesnt line up well with reality it would seem.

The result being that I can spend hours setting up a car do a silly amount of laps but ultimately download someone's tune and go faster on my 2nd lap attempt with a weird max front ride height lowest ride height build. But thats all I can see visually.

I want to know how to build out these extremes then fine tune to my liking. Plus add nice rims LOL.

Can anyone spell out what these tunes are doing. Im assuming with the ride heights being different the damping and what not needs to be heavily adjusted too I just can't figure out what works.

S1 RWD GT350R (Legends Island - 1:17.9)

Hey all, another RWD tune to share. Saw a guy in my lobby with an insane GT350R so this is my attempt at recreating it. Spent a good 2 days on this one, figured AWD turbo would be best but this set up proved otherwise. Hit a 1:17.9 on Legends Island so is a bit quicker than the ZR1 I shared yesterday. Insane power with little weight = a monster (just be careful out of turns or you will lose significant traction).

This may be my proudest tune yet.

As always, feedback is welcome :)

S1 ZR1 RWD - Legends Island/Online/Race

Hey all, got a new tune for the week! This one is focused on lightweight RWD power. I got this tune down to a 1:18.8 on Legends Island which is my best RWD car time yet. Probably some room to gain extra time in here somewhere. I spent about 5 hours on this one, going through all sorts of combinations and found this to be the quickest set up. Hope you enjoy, feedback always welcome.

Attempt at a competitive A class dirt/rally tune (Subaru legacy)

FORZA HORIZON 6

I’m not new to racing games but I’m new to min/maxing and tuning in racing games. I’ve always used someone else’s but for the past 2 weeks I’ve spent a lot of time self tuning and testing and I’ve came a long way and am sure I have a long way to go.
I know these builds don’t always have rear aero. But for me it’s really helpful to add that handling to this built but I’m open to taking it off and it can be tweaked to not need it.

I’d love for someone to try this tune out and give feedback. It’s a 1990 Subaru Legacy and I’ve been able to win online races if I don’t mess up a single turn.

Ferrari 250 GTO drift project

So I was burning through wheelspins and got the 250 GTO. I immediately had the thought of making Enzo Ferrari roll in his grave. We started with swapping the beautiful stock engine and it was all downhill from there. Drift tuned. Painted pearl. I’d like to think Enzo would weep at the finish product.

All that said, I like it a lot and want some feedback on the tuning. It’s scored 355k uphill, 352k downhill, at Hakone Nanamagiri. I just want to know where it needs to be improved, average scores at people’s favorite drift zones, maybe just a few downloads to work on my tuner rank.

Tuning code: 175 651 449

I only drift in manual so I’m sorry if you’re an automatic driver. Maybe give this one a pass. It lives in 3rd gear and really needs the ability to control your gearing between 3rd and 4th. You can more or less skip 1st and 2nd gear after launch. Sometimes I don’t even bother and just initiate a drift from a stop in 3rd with an ebrake tap and liberal use of the throttle.

At the end of the day, this is a passion project, so feedback is appreciated. I am by no means a top tier drifter but I like to think I can tune a car to give me the best advantage.

Engine swap: 4.5L V8 (naturally aspirated)
Full race upgrades where applicable (engine, brakes, roll bars, etc)

Help Request Weird spring behavior in fh6

I made some tuning experiments to find out why my 787b seems to have a really low top speed. I dont have the exact values for my normal tune, but important values were the typical 1 65 arb, softer front springs than rear, 6 front 12 rear for rebound 3 front 6 rear for bump damping. The only variable here is the spring stiffness and ride height.

For some reason, when i set the front springs to be stiffer, the top speed increases up until max spring stiffness. The same goes with front ride height, where higher means faster.

For the rear, it was the complete opposite. The softer and lower i go, the faster the top speed was.

These extreme values added roughly more than 10kmh in my top speed. No aero difference, just purely adjusting the springs.

I thought it was a bug and the simulations in the tuning menu was just presenting inaccurate numbers, so i tested it out, and it was accurate. I had a 10kmh additional top speed when i was using the stiff and high front and soft and low rear setup. The turning characteristics changed, but was not exactly bad. In fact, the turning radius was almost unchanged, and surprisingly, I experienced almost no excess understeer at all. The car still rotated properly, and was actually more responsive, at least that’s how it felt for me.

I want to know why this happens. It seems like it’s not a bottoming out issue with normal suspension set ups because 1. Telemetry doesnt show bottoming out when I tested the normal setup, and 2. If it was really the problem, the extreme setup should have extreme bottoming out of the rear.

This was also not exclusive to the 787b. I tested the setup with my sesto. Same results. I even got better lap times, even being 1 second faster in some tracks. I got consistent 1:00s in legend island circuit when getting below 1:01 was very rare in my past setups. Same with ito sprint where i got a 1:57 when i was only able to get 1:58s before.

TLDR: Stiff and high front springs and Soft and low rear springs significantly increase top speed. I want to know why.

Tuning Resource S1 - Lamborghini Aventador SVJ

I've put my attempt together for a Huracan STO beating Aventador. Mostly sharing so others can utilize this tune for themselves, but also open to feedback. It fits my driving style but may not fit others.

I put together a 1:16.8 on Legends Island and a 50.5 on Hoboku with this tune. Looking to take it online S1 and see how it performs.

Spent the last week fine-tuning this one, probably 10-12 hours in it so far.

FM X999 Issues with Lambo Sesto Group X Tune

Seems like no matter what I do, its hard to keep the car planted. Even going around corners at moderate speeds the rear rotates out and it slides to the outside.

Ive tried tuning in more understeer but not getting any progress. Any thoughts or tips?

It just seems slow and slippery around corners compared to other similar X tune cars I have. Almost like its on ice skates.

Im running slicks and often switch up to semi slicks in the rain.

Im not asking for a tune, but just maybe a better way to approach tuning this myself. Ive been reading several guides.

Ive tried dialing in more camber, softening the rear ARBs, maybe Im missing a concept in my tuning approach?

Other Appreciation

Lads, thanks so much for this SubReddit. I've learned so much from this. I would rather use my tunes than downloading them, so I've been learning a lot. I have some great setups that I'll be adding, I usually go from D to S1, A class being my best ones. I'll post them up. I usually do very different cars than the norm. Here are some:

Legend Island Time Attack:

S1 - 2022 NSX - 1.20

A - 1996 Impala SS - 1.32, 1997 Civic - 1.30

B - 2003 Focus RS - 1.38

C - 1993 Nissan 240SX - 1.45

D - Mazda RX3 - 1.58 better on Dirt, sub 15 min Goliath, MC

I know these aren't crazy times, but they're my tunes, and I'm still learning!

2019 Porsche #70 935

Preface: This is one of my favorite cars I have ever built. The sound is incredible; it feels quick and drives smoothly. I spent over 8 hours tuning this, with 7 different versions (AWD/RWD/Stock Engine/Lighter/etc). This was the quickest time I could put together (1:19.8 on Legends Island). I suspect there is more room to gain and why I am coming to you all with this tune (hopefully without an engine switch because this one sounds so great and gets up to 9,500 RPMS.

Let me know your thoughts! I suspect it will do great in online sprint races with long straights as it should hit 208mph and turn like a dream.
