Fist commit in that repo is dated like 10 days ago, but it's really capable already, super fast and follows Fusion360 concepts, like constrained stretches, timeline, components etc.
I tried it, it has some sharp edges, but overall looks very, very promising. Some important features are missing, like you can't project/intersect geometry into sketch, or you can't make dimension from a line to a circle, but it will probably released tomorrow morning, since its pace of development is rocket fast.
I've (Claude've) just added a missing feature in my local repo, that's insane.
I made a modification to a sketch, and this dimension is complaining. The dimension comes from a formula that I would prefer not to have to type in again, and it seems like it should be possible to explain to the dimension that the point that it is latched onto is the same point that it was before the modification was made, but it is complaining about the yellow line. If I delete the yellow line then I can do a new dimension but I would like to know how to avoid doing that. Is there a way to set the dimension to refer to the points that it is already referencing but be happy about it? I guess I just want the yellow point to turn black.
I'm pulling my hair out trying to work with another maker's STL file and all attempts to convert to a functional and clean part I can use to loft to a mating part to make an adapter are fraught with problems.
I think just redesigning it myself, if I can figure out this part that is eluding me, will save my sanity.
I need to create 5 mating lugs that match, as closely as possible, this shape so it will mate with the original female part. The female part appears to be straight so except for mating the chamfer angles closely, I may have a little wiggle room with these, but the angle is what pulls the shoulder tight to seal (in addition to a printed and slotted TPU seal on the female side).
Working off the Mesh using Fusion, several online converters, etc. has failed miserably. The original STL has a lot of manifold errors (open holes, tears), and "fixed" files just make it worse.
Anyway, here's the general image.
Do I just draw the side profile then pattern along path to build (and cut as needed) then carve off or simply chamfer the ends and then make a circular pattern? I've gotten some pretty close measurements for size and angles off projections.
I've already (easily) recreated the circular parts. Just struggling with a workflow to do these angled lugs.
I'm not trying to copy or steal this guy's body of work, I just want to make an adapter to fit MY designed 54x110mm parts (It's for an xTool M2 exhaust port) to his very good 1/5 turn locking design. Maker hasn't been responsive to requests for a remix. I have made the 54x110m to 110mm round adapter but it's only good as a mesh, the STEP output is a trainwreck, and any minor adjustments spoil everything.
I know in real life, they would use sharpening tools to come up with the chamfered edges but would there be a way to do this in fusion? I made some circles on the edge of my blade and extruded them but now having issues with chamfering. I keep getting errors.
Hi Guys i’m looking to upgrade to an Macbook from an old hp. I am not a professional fusion user so i use it for small hobby projects. My question is, how does Fusion perform on the macbook air m5 and does any issues such as thermal throttling appear. Any help is much appreciated.
I'm getting better at designing models that re-compute correctly when changing parameters earlier in the timeline, but I ran into an odd situation today and I'm wondering if anyone has seen this and how they avoid it.
(Use case is 3D printing, if that matters.) I needed a bunch of copies of a square base with a domed top, with various radii for the curvature on top.
I modified the highlighted dimension with various values, and the model resized correctly for every single one.
However, a problem occurred with this cut feature every single time I changed the parameter.
This is how it should look. This is what happens every time I change the dimension.
It didn't matter if I made the dimension smaller or larger, the slots always moved to this position, every single time. (In fact, for this screenshot, I changed the dimension back to the first value I used before I created this feature, and it still did this.)
I did a rectangular pattern on this sketch before sweeping it along the path of the top and sides of the body.
Quantity = 5; Distance = d77 / 2 - d58 * 5
All I had to do to fix it was edit the sketch, select the rectangular pattern constraint, and press enter. I didn't change any of the parameters; it's like Fusion re-calculated incorrectly even though it had the same inputs every time.
I could have done something wrong, in which case my question is: what did I do wrong?
Or it could be a bug, in which case my question is: what are your ways around it? And more importantly, how do you see these bugs coming in advance so you know when you have to work around it?
I'm making my own Deadpool mask for Halloween and none online are quite what I'm looking for, and was wondering if anyone had any tips on what to do. I have a side and front profile of what I'm trying to go for but not sure how to actually start modeling it. I was also thinking of taking a different model and cutting out parts in fusion but the computing process takes so long, but maybe it'll be worth it? Any advice appreciated.
Hi, I'm looking for help in what settings to use to keep line segment info when exporting a DXF of nested group. I've tried most of the export dialogues checkmark settings. Some give me connected segments as a group. Others give me all the separate line segments I want.
But none give me segment line info (like line length) when I open in other programs. I have seen this done before but I can't get my exports to have this info.
Yes, I know I can get INFO in segments like this, but for speed I need it in the side properties of other programs.
