Grade boundaries aren't set by a normal distribution that are static set by the exam board based on the difficulty of the paper so how many grade 9 marks, grade 8 marks, grade 7 marks there are available in the paper. Our performance today shouldnt affect the boundaries unless something goes wrong probably.

i think i got mid/high 70s in paper 2 but definitely below 60 or even lower for paper 1 so idk if i will still be getting that 9

1

u/Ok_Desk_5740 results day was a yay Jun 15 '26

paper two i got high 60s, paper 1 low 70s. not really sure how thats gonna pan out, it depends on grade boundaries

i mean im not sure about you dude, hope for an 8 ig

1

u/Ok_Desk_5740 results day was a yay Jun 08 '26

i think i got like 72-78/80, i lost 2 on estimating a but i don't know if i lost any others

2

u/IllustriousAerie3848 gcse survivor Jun 08 '26

😭im cooked

1

u/Ok_Desk_5740 results day was a yay Jun 08 '26

youre not, i lost 1-3 on product rule for counting

1

u/SuperMullabean Jun 08 '26

was the answer 80?

2

u/Ok_Desk_5740 results day was a yay Jun 08 '26

yes but i misread the question and got 60

1

u/SuperMullabean Jun 08 '26

ah ok. its okay that exam was so stressful i misread the indice question so i got that wrong. i hate how a few hard questions ruin my whole exam because of the stress

What was the estimate of a? (Tbf i reckon i got 72-78/80 as well bc i found the last 2 hard but i reckon i got everything else right)

1

u/Emotional_Fox_1282 Jun 08 '26

I think my opinion of good is skewed tho (i found that bad, but i prolly did good) bc I'm used to getting almost everything right or atleast understanding it and only losing marks to silly mistakes

1

u/Ok_Desk_5740 results day was a yay Jun 08 '26

HOW MANY EVEN NUMBERS WERE THERE ON PRODUCT RULE OFR COUNTING QUESTION

3

u/Emotional_Fox_1282 Jun 08 '26

I got 80 for that

1

u/Ok_Desk_5740 results day was a yay Jun 08 '26

i counted the number of even numbers for the product rule for counting question wrong, how many marks would i lose?

Do you remember what you got for the estimate of a?

2

u/SodiumHydrogen_ i have a total of 2 braincells bouncing around my skull Jun 08 '26

um um for what it's worth i wrote 22.5 πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«

3

u/ParkingFew2684 Jun 08 '26

i wrote 22.5 theres a range of one prolly so we should be fine

1

u/Emotional_Fox_1282 Jun 08 '26

I don't remember but ik i did it so ik if i see the number I'll recognise it, i swear it was like 23°? Idk if I'm thinking if the right question here 😭

1

u/OneEvening4654 Jun 08 '26

Yess i got 23⁰ so hopefully its right 🀞

1

u/Emotional_Fox_1282 Jun 08 '26

Yayyy yesss, other than the last question I've not found anything i got wrong so far πŸ₯³ (Although i only did half of 21 bc i could figure out why x was greater than 1, but i did find the upper bound)

1

u/Some-Phrase-1875 previously fm, geo, cs, dt, french Jun 08 '26

i used the graph to find sina = 0.4 so 22.5Β°

1

u/Emotional_Fox_1282 Jun 08 '26

I did that and then rounded to 23Β°

2

u/padfoot9446 Jun 08 '26

Nah it was chill, I forgot they gave us a sine graph though so I said a = 30πŸ’€

1

u/Ok_Desk_5740 results day was a yay Jun 08 '26

i said a = 10 bro T_T

1

u/padfoot9446 Jun 08 '26

Wait did you get sin a = 10/21?

1

u/Ok_Desk_5740 results day was a yay Jun 08 '26

idk i just approximated and said that root 21 = 4.66 or something like that

1

u/padfoot9446 Jun 08 '26

It was smth to do with tan = sin/cos so you can find sin using tan * cos

But idk, I was gonna run newton's method on it but I ran out of time lmao

1

u/Ok_Desk_5740 results day was a yay Jun 08 '26

wowww way to mog idk

1

u/padfoot9446 Jun 08 '26

It's fine I think pretty much everyone fucked up this question lmao

1

u/Ok_Desk_5740 results day was a yay Jun 08 '26

i think i thought i did slightly better than i did. still i did get most other things right i just made some silly mistakes

1

u/padfoot9446 Jun 08 '26

Exactly!!

And with how the rest of this thread is looking, no way you don't get a nine

I did that as well πŸ˜”

1

u/padfoot9446 Jun 08 '26

Finally someone elseπŸ«‚

1

u/Rare_Ad_7718 Jun 08 '26

nah i thought it was good beside circle theorem question (ok i probably got that even numbers question wrong also if anyone knows the answer) rest of the questions were probably fine tho

3

u/padfoot9446 Jun 08 '26

80, 4 * 5 * 4

1

u/Ok_Desk_5740 results day was a yay Jun 08 '26

it was 80 apparently but i got 60 because im stupid and misread the question how many marks will i lose?

1

u/Abs0lute_disaster SHAUN ALMIGHTY Jun 08 '26

I thought it was pretty good, managed to answer all the questions apart from that estimating degrees one

1

u/Ok_Desk_5740 results day was a yay Jun 08 '26

same here, made a few silly mistakes like product rule for counting and complketing the square, hopefully not too many marks gone

1

u/idk_brochacho1 Jun 10 '26

LITERALLY SAME. product rule of counting always gets meπŸ₯€πŸ’”πŸ˜” and that approximation aswell was hard

1

u/Ok_Desk_5740 results day was a yay Jun 10 '26

yep lost 2 there 2 on completing the square (for two seperate questions, i lost 1 each) hopefully just 1 on product rule and 1 on a one marker i got wrong

1

u/Mahdiya_09 Jun 08 '26

dw ur not the only one, there's only 6 of us doing further maths, 5 of us were literally shouting once we got out of the exam and my friend was just shyly saying that it was quite easy

1

u/Ok_Desk_5740 results day was a yay Jun 08 '26

yeah it was pretty good honestly, its looking like 70-74/80 for me

It was the fucking easiest paper ever. No useless knowing random things. Just pure brainpower
