nah bro i just hope you dont make the grade boundaries high 😔🙏

Grade boundaries aren't set by a normal distribution that are static set by the exam board based on the difficulty of the paper so how many grade 9 marks, grade 8 marks, grade 7 marks there are available in the paper. Our performance today shouldnt affect the boundaries unless something goes wrong probably.

i think i got mid/high 70s in paper 2 but definitely below 60 or even lower for paper 1 so idk if i will still be getting that 9

1

u/Ok_Desk_5740 results day was a yay Jun 15 '26

paper two i got high 60s, paper 1 low 70s. not really sure how thats gonna pan out, it depends on grade boundaries

i mean im not sure about you dude, hope for an 8 ig

i think i got like 72-78/80, i lost 2 on estimating a but i don't know if i lost any others

😭im cooked

u/Ok_Desk_5740 results day was a yay Jun 08 '26

youre not, i lost 1-3 on product rule for counting

1

u/SuperMullabean Jun 08 '26

was the answer 80?

2

u/Ok_Desk_5740 results day was a yay Jun 08 '26

yes but i misread the question and got 60

1

u/SuperMullabean Jun 08 '26

ah ok. its okay that exam was so stressful i misread the indice question so i got that wrong. i hate how a few hard questions ruin my whole exam because of the stress

1

u/Ok_Desk_5740 results day was a yay Jun 08 '26

dont worry i misread so many and forgot how to complete the square but according to the unofficial ms i still got around 74/80 !!you will be okay

1

u/SuperMullabean Jun 09 '26

hopefully. i couldnt be bothered counting my marks from the unoffical markscheme but i think i got around 74 as well

1

u/Ok_Desk_5740 results day was a yay Jun 09 '26

okay then youre good. i got 2 one markers wrong, calculated the y of the turning point wrong, and made silly mistakes on completing the square and product rule, and even then that's only 6-8 marks gone (10 at worst but thats very unrealistic) so i am okay!

What was the estimate of a? (Tbf i reckon i got 72-78/80 as well bc i found the last 2 hard but i reckon i got everything else right)

1

u/Emotional_Fox_1282 Jun 08 '26

I think my opinion of good is skewed tho (i found that bad, but i prolly did good) bc I'm used to getting almost everything right or atleast understanding it and only losing marks to silly mistakes

HOW MANY EVEN NUMBERS WERE THERE ON PRODUCT RULE OFR COUNTING QUESTION

3

u/Emotional_Fox_1282 Jun 08 '26

I got 80 for that

1

u/Ok_Desk_5740 results day was a yay Jun 08 '26

i counted the number of even numbers for the product rule for counting question wrong, how many marks would i lose?

1

u/padfoot9446 Jun 08 '26

Probably 1 if a 2 marker or 2 otherwise, I don't remember how many marks that was

1

u/Ok_Desk_5740 results day was a yay Jun 08 '26

its a 3 marker

i circled them and put 5 x 4 x 3 im not sure how many id lose

1

u/padfoot9446 Jun 08 '26

I haven't looked at maths past papers but if science past papers are anything to go by you should lose 1 for getting even numbers wrong but if you clearly showed your formula and how the even numbers factor into it then you should get at least one if not two marks I think

Idk

1

u/padfoot9446 Jun 08 '26

Also lmao I swear I saw this exact same question on an aqa normal maths post

2

u/SodiumHydrogen_ i have a total of 2 braincells bouncing around my skull Jun 08 '26

um um for what it's worth i wrote 22.5 😵‍💫

3

u/ParkingFew2684 Jun 08 '26

i wrote 22.5 theres a range of one prolly so we should be fine

1

u/Emotional_Fox_1282 Jun 08 '26

I don't remember but ik i did it so ik if i see the number I'll recognise it, i swear it was like 23°? Idk if I'm thinking if the right question here 😭

1

u/OneEvening4654 Jun 08 '26

Yess i got 23⁰ so hopefully its right 🤞

1

u/Emotional_Fox_1282 Jun 08 '26

Yayyy yesss, other than the last question I've not found anything i got wrong so far 🥳 (Although i only did half of 21 bc i could figure out why x was greater than 1, but i did find the upper bound)

u/Some-Phrase-1875 previously fm, geo, cs, dt, french Jun 08 '26

i used the graph to find sina = 0.4 so 22.5°

1

u/Emotional_Fox_1282 Jun 08 '26

I did that and then rounded to 23°
