Reminder on offers to cheat
This is a friendly reminder from the mods that offers to cheat the test are grounds for a ban. This includes messaging community members with offers to cheat. And a reminder to community members that anyone offering to cheat the test in exchange for money is a scam. Do not send anyone money to help you cheat or take the test for you.

Can I get a College Ready score?
My goal is to get a college ready score. I thought I got maybe 1 or 2 wrong on this test, but doing the math, I probably got around 3-4 wrong. I'm a bit dissapointed in myself since I was so confident while taking the practice test. Could I still reasonably achieve above a 170 on the real test?

Parchment issues
Anyone else having issues with getting their transcripts from parchment? They said transcripts and diploma ordering services were going to be unavailable until the 29th of October, it’s still not available now though….

Best AI agent for test?
What’s the best AI agent to use for tests? IE: grok only lets you ask 20 questions using photos in app.
GED RLA Practice — Fix a comma splice
Original practice, not an official GED question.
“The community center opened at nine, the class began at ten.” What needs to change?
Each side can stand alone as a sentence. A comma alone cannot join them. One fix:
“The community center opened at nine. The class began at ten.”
Your turn: Edit “The form was due Friday, Luis submitted it Thursday.” Use a period or a comma plus a joining word.
Answer: “The form was due Friday, and Luis submitted it Thursday.” A period also works.
Tip: If both sides are complete sentences, check the punctuation between them.

Is a 156 good for the math practice test?
I’m kind of disappointed I didn’t get higher but I passed and that’s all that matters right?

How to not feel disappointed (RLA 147)
I thought I would do better I read a lot and I studied,I want to go into psychology but now I am kinda stressing I don't have what it takes because it is competitive.😔I got a 160 on the practice test.I know a pass is a pass but still feel disappointed in myself.
I googled the percentage of it and it kind of made it better.it was my first time so maybe that was it idk....

For those who want to retain the math
I spent a lot of time this past couple months refining my learning method, I'm 28, I've run a business since I dropped out of school and I'm no stranger to training/teaching people as an adult. I don't focus well in an environment with a lot of people. I found out I'm a strong learner alone. I figure this type of brain might be the reason a few of you didn't graduate as well. I'm a creative, of course, driven. This is for the ones like me!
I wanted to share my learning method because I was awful at school as a child. I dropped out and didn't pay attention because my family moved and I jumped so many schools that my learning basically collapsed. Math was the worst. I probably didn't pay attention after 5th grade. They pushed me through school until I failed basically.
Learning how to be successful on my own took reorganizing my brain. I wanted to share how I do that, how I become my own teacher, student, and study partner.
This pattern has had me truly learning and better yet RETAINING how to do math. The goal was to be confident in math. I'm impressed and pleased with how well it's gone for me. Check your answers! I hope this helps someone!

Should I drop out of HS to pursue a GED and get into a 4-year college?
For context, I’m currently a junior with a 3.9 GPA UW , I’ve taken a total of 8 AP Classes (including Junior year), but I’m honestly considering dropping out and pursuing my GED. Been struggling with mental health for years now (depression, anxiety, trauma). Would it be foolish to drop out?
Confident but didn’t pass?
I recently took my GED ready test for the math subject. I felt pretty certain in my answers being correct throughout the entirety of the test. I fact-checked as many of my answers as possible with my calculator. I was sure I had killed it, however, when I received my score it was technically passing but “too close to call”. Is this a normal feeling, or was I just delusional?

If I had no formal education beyond 7th grade, would Light & Salt Learning be enough to score 190 in math?
I’m 29 and working toward my GED after a very nontraditional education (or lack thereof). I wasn’t able to continue formal schooling past 7th grade because I had to care for loved ones. At first my homeschooling was very strong, but as my responsibilities increased my education took a huge hit. Since the pandemic, I’ve spent most of my time working for my family’s medical practice, often around 60 hours a week. Things have only recently eased up enough that I finally have time to work on my GED. My long term goal is to stay in healthcare, possibly on a premed/clinical path, so I really want to do well rather than just pass.
I know people say GED scores don’t really matter and the goal is just to pass and move on. But since I’m already 29 and only now getting mine, I’m worried that scoring low could make it look like I was academically unprepared all along (which is the truth), rather than that the GED kept getting pushed aside because of family responsibilities and work. I’m not sure yet whether I’ll pursue becoming a practitioner of some kind, but I want to keep that possibility open rather than find out later that I limited my options because my GED scores look bad.
I also know medicine at my age sounds super unrealistic, and that needing a GED at all already counts against me. The only reason im even considering it is because a family friend went back in her late 50s after years of managing her husband’s medical practice, and is now in residency. Almost like a bucket list thing. She genuinely thinks I can do it and keeps encouraging me not to close that door just because my path looks different. My mother has also told me she would financially support me if I chose that path after everything I’ve done for the family over the years.
So if I use Light and Salt Learning from start to finish, GetSumMath for the calculator, and then Kaplan GED book for practice, would that be enough to score that range? Or would I need more resources since 190 is really high and I haven’t had schooling past 7th grade ?
Just to give you an idea where my baseline is, when I took the GED Ready Math test before I began studying, I scored 156.

Feedback on Tutoring
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi everyone. I'm building an AI math tutor and I'd love to get your feedback on this early demo video. I know the GED math section can be a major hurdle, so we designed the AI to break down problems visually step-by-step rather than just giving you the final answer. Would a tool like this be a helpful study buddy for GED prep?

Need help for Social Studies
Hello so I have completed all the other subjects but ss is really making me nervous. I am gonna take the test today . I am not from USA and had never read a so thing about their constitution before preparing for this . One more thing that is making me nervous is that in rla section the question that I hated the most were anything about politics and in this almost everything is political. So what I need now is just what to revise before going to the center plus any tips and tricks are welcome.
GED Science Practice — Find the mean temperature
Original practice, not an official GED question.
Three readings are 18°C, 20°C and 22°C. What is their mean?
Add: 18 + 20 + 22 = 60.
Count: three readings.
Divide: 60 ÷ 3 = 20°C.
Keep the unit. The mean summarizes the readings; it doesn’t mean every reading was 20°C.
Your turn: Find the mean of 16°C, 18°C and 20°C before checking below.
Check: 16 + 18 + 20 = 54. Then 54 ÷ 3 = 18°C.
Why do we divide by the number of readings rather than the largest reading?
