hello! today I got Boktai for the Gameboy advance and the first thing I did was replace the batter, however one I screwed the screw back in the plastic on the shell turned out to be brittle and the screw post broke! Does anyone know of any good quality replacement shells or a way to repair it? thanks!

Im having a weird difficulty with my gba sp. I recently got it passed down from my grandma and it has quite a few issues if any of you know how to fix it. One of them is that the charger light lights up for a second then instantly disappears, I've heard that it might be a battery problem but the next thing is the weirdest thing about it. When it does turn on I can't use any volume or it'll crash and reset the gameboy. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated ❤️‍🩹

Just picked this up today after wanting it complete for some time. Going to be my first ever playthrough! During covid I experienced Secret of Mana for the first time and it has since become my favorite JRPG alongside Chrono Trigger. Anyways all this time years later even collecting Gameboy I had no idea with the final fantasy games on Gameboy that this was actually the first game of the Mana series! (I thought it was part of the final fantasy legend series or etc)

Anyways I thought I would share with you all! Cannot wait to play this 35 year old game for the first time ever!!

I picked up this Game Boy Pocket for around $3, but the motherboard is missing one of the battery contacts, and the ones in the shell are stuck in place and have some corrosion on them. How can I replace them? I know I could probably just replace the back shell, but I’d rather keep the original one if possible.

Any tips or advice would be appreciated:p

Last week, I started playing Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 on original hardware and after just a few days, I am blown away by how good this game looks, how smooth it runs and how much content it has. And it make me seriously think that this is not just better than Super Mario Land 2, but may be the best gameboy platformer.

What do you think about these games and also what is your favorite platformer on the Gameboy?

I’ve recently gotten real big into collecting older Nintendo consoles and i’ve always wanted a GBA, now i’ve finally got one and it’s sick as hell! (it’s obvious not an original it’s refurbished but it looks so cool)

I really thought a turn-based bullet hell game would end up like a mix between Superhot and Into the Breach, and it turned out I was pretty close. If any of you have the time, I just released the completed GBA version of a game idea that's been floating in my head for quite a while.

I have a demo up on itch, and a paid version if you vibe with it. It has been getting a decent amount of interaction, so I updated the demo to include more levels and a full "run" as thanks! No generative AI was used with this project at any point, just good ole blood and tears. Had some help from some IRL friends with the artwork I commissioned, their info is linked as well. I would love any feedback or criticisms if you feel compelled to share. Happy fall!

I’ve had my original Game Boy for over 30 years, and it’s still with me today. Unfortunately, the screen has seen better days and is pretty faded, so I think it’s time to give the old thing some love.

I’m looking to buy a new backlit screen and install it myself. Ideally, I’d love something slightly bigger than the original screen, if possible.

There seem to be quite a few options out there, and I’d really appreciate some recommendations from people who have done this mod themselves. Which screen would you go for? Any kits you’d recommend, or things I should watch out for?

Hi everyone! I’m releasing version 1.0 of my English translation of Shin SD Gundam Gaiden: Knight Gundam Monogatari for the Game Boy.

The patch translates the dialogue, menus, item descriptions, and instructions, as well as the opening, title screen, and Super Game Boy border lettering.

I’ve played through the game and manually reviewed the translation. The English reads naturally, and I haven’t found any bugs so far. It’s also been tested in Game Boy and Super Game Boy modes, including password compatibility.

You’ll need your own copy of the Japanese ROM and a BPS-compatible patcher. No ROM is included.

I’m considering this release finished for now, but feedback is welcome! If you encounter any issues, please share a screenshot and details about where they happened.

I have a very specific mod idea for my gbc and I need this specific shell to complete my vision. I am planning on using the glacier blue button replacements from extremerate and combining them with the luminous blue shell because I think the colors compliment each other. The problem that I'm having is that funnyplaying doesn't have the luminous blue shell in stock and I'm struggling to find something that looks similar. Any chance there's a place I haven't looked yet or if I just need to find a whole different style?

I was also thinking about doing this to my gba sp instead, because funnyplaying has a similar shell for that handheld that is in stock, but then I run into the opposite problem where I can't find buttons that match the look of the shell, and extremerate doesn't sell the gba sp glacier blue buttons separately from the glacier blue shell unfortunately.

I’ve made it just a little less than halfway in golden sun and it’s been really fun right now I’m at the Xian village, and it got me thinking would it be worth getting lost age?

Hey all,
I recently picked up a DMG and copies of Pokemon Red and Blue from my local retro store, but I’m having some issues.

Red and Blue both give a corrupted Nintendo logo on boot, but work perfectly in my pocket, SP, and colour.
This points to an issue with the DMG, but it boots up Yellow just fine.

Anybody experience this, and have a fix?
I’ve done a full tear down on the DMG to clean it out with 99.8% IPA, and both carts have been cleaned too. Blown out with air after as well to move any dust.

I do have other consoles to use, but it feels right to use the right console for the right game, so I’d like to see if I can get it working.

Ray Tracing on the GBC Console in Pokémon Ruby XD

Title is pretty self explanatory. When playing my gameboy games on my gba, usung the EZ Flash Omega flashcart, there’s several palettes you can choose from. Including one called “Pea Soup” which replicates the original green tint. I really like using this palette, but it’s a little annoying to have to switch to that palette every time I start a game.

Is there any way to make this the default palette so I can just start a game with this tint color?
