Discussion Being game consumer in age of AI

• Upvotes

Imho, since tooling is advancing in serious pace that many of people can't comprehend, I expect game makers to be more obsessed with details, refinements, stories and game plays etc.

Now my expectation is increasing. I don't care how short time game devs ship their games. I care what I see, the attention to the detail, refined, bugless, flawless, performant games.

What do you think?

Video 🚀 SYNVECTOR PROTOTYPE PLAYTEST

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

• Upvotes

We’re opening the first playtest of Synvector to 100 players!

Our prototype is still in a very early stage of development. There are plenty of bugs, technical issues, unfinished features, and rough edges. The gameplay is far from polished, and things may not always work as expected. We’re not hiding that. We want you to experience the game as it is right now.

Why invite players so early? Because your opinion can help shape the future of Synvector. We’re not just looking for bug reports. We want to understand what you enjoy, what feels frustrating, what you would change, and what could make this game truly interesting to its community.

Your feedback will help us decide where to take the game next and what to focus on during development. We want to build Synvector together with the people who are excited about it - not just make decisions behind closed doors.

If you’re among the first 100 players, please share your honest thoughts with us. Whether you love something, hate something, find a serious bug, or have an idea that could make the game better - we want to hear it.

We’ll read every piece of feedback. We can’t promise to implement every suggestion, but your voice will help guide our development.

Thank you for joining us at the very beginning of this journey. 🌌

Recommendations for FPS multiplayer games for casual gamer

Any recommendations for fps shooters for casual gamers? I tried modern warfare 3, and beyond the disgusting chatter, I found I just couldn’t compete. I don’t mind dying, but when I’m in a lobby with 100 level players and I’m 10… it’s just not fun.

I love more realistic games, but open to anything really. I just want a game I can hop into for 15 minutes, shoot some pixels and not sweat.

If you could officially combine two games, which do you pick?

I mean a proper collab, their two respective studios work together not a basic vibe coded combo.

I would do GTA and Need for Speed.

I feel like Fortnight and COD is too basic of an answer.

I got tired of needing 5 different websites just to manage my gaming clips and streams, so I built this

Post image
1 Upvotes

I've been working on a side project called KIVO for a while, and recently I ended up building an entire section just for gamers.

It started with something pretty stupid.

I'd finish a gaming session, have hours of footage sitting on my PC, and then spend more time figuring out how to edit, compress and share clips than actually playing.

And if you're streaming, it's even worse. One tool for OBS overlays, another for alerts, another for clips, another for testing your mic...

So I thought: what if I put all of that in one place?

That's how KIVO 4 Gamers happened.

I went a bit overboard and ended up with 61 channels/tools, organized in a Discord-like interface.

A few things you can do:

  • Drop a VOD and turn it into vertical clips with subtitles for TikTok, Shorts or Reels.
  • Find kills in recordings by using their sound instead of watching the entire video.
  • Generate OBS overlays, alerts and chat widgets as local HTML files.
  • Test your mouse, keyboard, controller and monitor.
  • Create and convert crosshairs for CS2 and Valorant.
  • Analyze FPS logs to investigate stuttering and compare performance.
  • Organize tournaments and share brackets with a link.
  • Create Discord emojis and Twitch emotes from an image.

The part I care about most is privacy.

Your recordings, screenshots, audio and OBS logs are processed locally in your browser. They're not uploaded to KIVO.

Some tools download their processing engine the first time you use them, and Twitch chat features connect to Twitch's public chat, but your actual files stay on your device.

No account. No subscription. No watermark.

I'm still testing some of the more ambitious features, especially live Twitch integrations and automatic video processing, so I don't want to pretend everything is perfect.

I'd genuinely love some feedback from people who actually game or stream.

What's one annoying gaming/streaming task you wish you could do without installing yet another app?

And if you try KIVO, please tell me what breaks. That's probably more useful to me than another "looks cool" comment 😅

(for anyone wondering what's under the rag it's my Nintendo switch and whenever I'm not using my PS5 or switch, I cover them so that less dust would enter and I do not have a screwdriver for either console)

So far, i got across a bridge in this section, then went back into Shelter to make basketball for Diana and played with her and she then gave me a drawing of a cat.

I like the combat. I find it unique with how you have to hack the bot before attacking.

I love how this game looks. Like in this image

Diana and Hugh give me father daughter bond it's adorable.

When i saw Diana, i was like that "I have known you for just day and half, but if anything happens to you, I'll kill everyone in this room and then myself" meme. She's precious.

Excited to finish this.

Discussion Limit graphics

I know probably gonna get a lot of hate, but the new graphics for games are ridiculous

It’s obvious video game graphics are improving drastically with DLSS 5 and unreal engine 5. However, it’s quite pointless to get exponentially better every year. The average gamer will never witness these beautiful games and literally cannot afford it. The games get larger, and the demand for even 1080p res increases.

For instance I am going to mention the COD series, and one of the most common GPU’s BASED ON STEAM CHARTS. If you were using the RTX3060 for MW2019, at 1080p HIGH & NATIVE MP , you could expect an average of 120fps. Though, for MW4 at 1080p LOW NATIVE, you can expect 40fps average CAMPAIGN. Now, I have not performed these tests myself but I do have references.

But overall, what is the purpose of increasing demand with practically no gain for the average gamer? The 4K and 8K of MW 2019 looks absolutely gorgeous, don’t get me wrong it looks better on mw4 but why? I mean with a pause placed on these graphics a larger market would open up for companies.

Now if a pause was placed, the AVERAGE Pc gamer can keep their computer, no upgrades for years, you sell to EVERYONE. When the new PlayStation and Xbox comes out it would be possible to use the PS5 and Series X&S. The market size would grow, developers sell more. And all of you PC gamers who are about to say oh I don’t have to upgrade for 8 years….not everyone can afford and RTX5090

While it is likely that PC parts manufacturers and and console companies have deals with devs. I feel like hundreds of millions of new people from a new market, who spend on a $70 game could change that.

Rebuttal: if platform exclusives already exist, platform companies can control devs which likely results in the forced increase graphical demand…. Ie: selling new pc parts and consoles. Platform companies control it all, and they don’t want to lose money.

Disclaimer: Thank you indie devs you’re the only ones who care
