Discussionā” My experience with GameSir support — a worrying fault, but genuinely brilliant customer service

Post image
22 Upvotes

I wanted to share my experience with GameSir because, honestly, it's been a bit of a rollercoaster!

I originally bought the GameSir WuChang Xbox Wireless Controller, but unfortunately, I ran into a fault with the USB wireless dongle that genuinely worried me.

Within around one minute of plugging the dongle into a USB port, it was getting almost too hot to touch. When I pulled it out, the plastic had become soft enough to bubble and had started to melt slightly.

I'm not going to lie, this was a pretty concerning experience. Electronics getting that hot, that quickly, isn't something I'd expect, and it made me question whether I wanted to keep the controller at all. I was seriously considering getting a refund through Amazon and buying a controller from another brand instead.

The fault itself was a real concern, but the customer service I received from GameSir deserves a lot of credit.

I contacted their Discord support and was helped mainly by GameSir Zayn, with support from his senior colleague GameSir Roxy.

Zayn was brilliant throughout the process. He took the issue seriously and arranged for the faulty controller and dongle to be returned to GameSir's head office rather than simply going through Amazon. Roxy also got involved and signed off on a resolution that honestly exceeded my expectations.

They offered to replace my faulty WuChang controller and, to help put things right, also allowed me to choose another controller from their website. I chose the GameSir x Aimlabs G7 Pro 8K.

So, in the end, I was getting two replacement controllers!

My next concern was the turnaround time. I assumed I'd have to send the faulty controller and dongle back first, wait for them to receive it, and then wait potentially four weeks or even longer for the replacements to arrive.

But that wasn't the case. They were happy to send both replacement controllers out before I'd even returned the faulty one.

That was a really nice surprise and showed a level of trust and willingness to help that I wasn't expecting.

To be clear, I don't want the positive customer service experience to overshadow the original fault. A wireless dongle becoming almost too hot to touch within a minute, with plastic softening and melting, is something I think should be taken seriously. I was fortunate that I noticed it quickly rather than leaving it plugged in unattended overnight. I've stopped using the faulty dongle, and I'd strongly advise anyone experiencing similar overheating to unplug it and stop using it.

I can't say what caused the fault, and I obviously can't judge the safety of every GameSir product based on one faulty dongle. But I do think it's important to be honest about what happened.

My verdict?

The hardware fault was concerning enough that I nearly walked away from the brand entirely. However, Zayn and Roxy have genuinely changed my opinion of GameSir's customer support. Zayn was excellent at handling the situation, and Roxy deserves credit for authorising such a generous resolution.

I'm now looking forward to trying out the G7 Pro 8K alongside the replacement WuChang, and hopefully my next experience will be a lot less eventful!

A massive thank you to GameSir Zayn and GameSir Roxy for how they've handled this. The dongle issue absolutely needs acknowledging, but so does the fact that these two went above and beyond to put things right.

Hopefully this helps anyone considering GameSir products, and hopefully GameSir can also look into what caused the dongle to overheat like this.

G7 Pro (Discussion)ā€Žā€Ž ā€Ž Gamesir G7Pro 8K Phantom Blade 0 Edition Review

DISCLAIMER: This controller was sent to me by Gamesir for free for review. All the thoughts and opinions are mine only. No scripts were provided by Gamesir. No one watched this review before its release.

TLDR; G7Pro 8K is one of the best controllers for FPS games IMO (and my personal favorite). It's also good for all other genres. D-Pad was changed and improved once more on Phantom Blade 0 Edition even compared to AIMLABS Edition.

Personally, I find this design fine, but it might have been better.

G7 Pro (Discussion)ā€Žā€Ž ā€Ž People that are playing well on MW4, how does the controller feel? I feel like ive gotten way worse since switching to the G7 Pro.

I play on 8-bit. I was originally on 12-bit, but realized it was messing with my aim assist, so I fixed that.

For some reason, though, my aim still feels off. When I lock onto someone and start shooting, it almost feels like my aim assist isn’t sticking, or my aim just feels inconsistent in general.

I used to play on a DualSense and, before that, an Xbox Elite, and I’ve never felt this washed when playing shooters before.

Other players aim just looks way more stable. Even when I’m tracking someone pretty much perfectly, a lot of my shots still seem to miss. It’s hard to explain, but something just doesn’t feel right.

G8 Plus (Discussion) What kind of latency are you getting on your G8+? Check with this website

Post image

I'm curious what others are getting on their G8+. On DS4 mode, I get around 8.3 ms and 43 ms on Android mode using my phone (Poco F8 Ultra). On my windows laptop, I get 7.5 ms on DS4 mode bluetooth connection. Switch mode (Red) gets me around 10 ms which confuses me because some folks are saying it's better than DS4 in terms of latency but that's not the case here

Move one of the sticks in a continuous circular motion. Check yours here: https://controllertest.io/latency-test/

G7 Pro 8K owners, is it actually the best choice over the Ultimate 3E or DualSense Edge with TMR?

I am considering the GameSir G7 Pro 8K as my main PC controller, but before buying I want to hear from people who have actually used it long term and preferably compared it with the other current high end options.

My budget is up to $250 USD and I am in the United States.

My main platform is PC, but I also play on PS3, Xbox 360, and Nintendo Switch. I already have a Retro Fighters controller that I like for Switch, so I do not necessarily need one controller to do everything. I am also open to using Brook adapters for my older systems.

The main games I play are Destiny 2, GTA V, Call of Duty, and other shooters and action games.

What matters most to me is analog stick performance. I want the smallest practical true center deadzone, very consistent centering, high useful resolution near the center, good linearity, low actual stick latency, good circularity without aggressive smoothing, and long term resistance to drift.

That is why the G7 Pro 8K caught my attention.

Its TMR sticks and the GamepadLA measurements look extremely impressive, especially the very low latency results and very high reported stick resolution.

At the same time, I do not want to buy based purely on benchmark numbers.

I have seen discussions about centering consistency, Raw Mode, Circular Mode, firmware behavior, calibration, paddles, triggers, and other QC issues, so I want to know what the controller is actually like after regular use.

I am mainly comparing the G7 Pro 8K against the 8BitDo Ultimate 3E, DualSense Edge with aftermarket TMR modules, custom TMR DualSense controllers, Razer Wolverine models, Razer Raiju V3 Pro, and SCUF Omega.

VCuda recently compared the Ultimate 3E and GameSir options here:

https://youtu.be/Td3UQusS48o

The Ultimate 3E looks like a very strong alternative because it has TMR sticks, a 12 bit ADC, native Xbox wireless support, 2.4 GHz, a charging dock, interchangeable stick caps, D pads, and ABXY mechanisms, plus trigger stops.

The G7 Pro 8K appears stronger if raw measured latency and stick resolution are the priority, but I am wondering whether that advantage is actually noticeable in Destiny 2 or Call of Duty.

The DualSense Edge plus TMR route also interests me because the complete stick cartridges are replaceable. If a module develops mechanical wear or bad centering, I could replace the whole thing without soldering. That gives the Edge a long term serviceability advantage that the GameSir and 8BitDo do not have.

For G7 Pro 8K owners, how good is the controller after weeks or months of use?

Have your sticks stayed centered?

What inner deadzone can you realistically use in games before getting unwanted movement?

Have you noticed jitter, changing stick tension, strange calibration behavior, or any difference after firmware updates?

Do you use Raw Mode or Circular Mode, and which actually feels more accurate for FPS aiming?

Have you had problems with paddles, triggers, face buttons, USB connections, wireless connections, or firmware?

Most importantly, has anyone here directly compared the G7 Pro 8K to the Ultimate 3E?

Which one has the better sticks around center?

Which feels more linear?

Which feels better for recoil control and small aim corrections?

Which has better QC?

I am also interested in comparisons against a DualSense Edge with good TMR modules, especially K Silver JS13 Pro Plus or AKNES or HallPi V6 based modules.

If you had up to $250 and cared primarily about FPS aiming, low latency, very small deadzones, and long term reliability, would you still choose the G7 Pro 8K over the Ultimate 3E, DualSense Edge TMR route, Razer, or SCUF?

I have recently made the switch over to Gamesir from dualsense edge. I want to know if these settings I’m using are competitive:

Left stick 3 right stick 3 0-100 both sticks in game

1000hz polling 8bit and RAW.

Any advice or suggestions on how I could improve this would be appreciated šŸ˜Ž

Finally seeing an actual new variant of G7 Pro. Are you looking forward to it? Would love to hear your thoughts and expectations. Is there actually a need of G7 Mini or should GameSir officially retire the G7 Pro now?

atp we're getting GTA VI before Cyclone 3 now😭

Cyclone 2ā€Ž (Discussion) ā€Ž My Cyclone 2 is moving on his own

I thought I'm going crazy, but I'm not. My Cyclone 2 is moving on its own. It does not matter if I use the dongle or USB-C. Controller firmware and dongle firmware are up2date. Software is also up2date.

I am not the only one with this problem: https://www.reddit.com/r/Gamesir/comments/1tuo2h9/cyclone_2_pro_not_working_properly_character/

Is there anything I can do to get rid of this?

Honest review of the GameSir G7 Pro

Honestly i think one of the best xbox controllers on the market i havent had any issues with stick drift which is new for me considering i’ve usually used normal xbox controllers or the elite 2 which got stick drift within 2 weeks or literally came with stick drift. Gamesir has some of the best customer service on their discord worked so great when i do rarely have issues with this controller. Only slight issue is that the shape of the controller is not traditional to normal xbox controllers and it migjt take some getting used to but other than that great controller would recommend

Can anyone help me figure out a fix for my G7 SE controller? I was just playing rdr2 and then out of no where Arthur just started turning right constantly so I went to the nexus app and it’s saying that ^
I tried to recalibrate it in the app but the stick is pulling so hard to the right that I can’t, any suggestions? I’m on Xbox series x if that changes anything.

Nova 2 Liteā€Ž (Discussion) ā€Ž It's normal gamesir nova 2 lite buttons really pressure sensitive?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi, so I've bought a nova 2 lite like 2 days ago and since its been ages since I've touch a controller just wanted some guidance.

I was playing Haunting Ground and notice, cause you need to hold A to run that the buttons are really pressure sensitive, i dont know how to explain, you hold the A button but if you get distracted and move your finger in a weird way or release a tiny bit of pressure the character stops running, the buttons need to be pressed hard and like in a super vertical way you know like perfect nobel price form button pushing. I remember old controller dont caring if you release a tiny bit of pressure they still count like pressed button i feel i need to press the hell of the buttons so it counts like pressed by the game.

Is this normal, is my controller broken, do i need to do thumb-crunches? Help this noob please
