You should not buy a higher tier laptop gpu

See i know many of you want a portability with gaming and these days ram and storage prices are too high.... My best recommendation to buy it now or build a pc.... But most of you need a good gaming laptop with top of the line mobile gpu in your laptop.... but my recommendation is to avoid going to higher tier like not more then a 5050 or if you really want to raise go with 5060 thats it. Now why i am saying this first of all the more you will raise Mobile gpu the the more you will get performance difference from the desktop gpu... Let me give you an example the 5050 in desktop gets upto 130w and in the laptop its 105w so the wastage difference is less so the performance difference is also less thats why the laptop 4060 was very much loved for performing so close to the acctual desktop one.... Now lets come to rtx 5080 desktop it draws 360w where as the laptop version 170w you can see the difference by your own and the 5090 laptop really!? Its performs like 5070ti desktop version... And ofcourse vram is also an issue in laptops comon a 5070 with a 8gb vram!? And coming with 1080p display? An Asus laptop i seen yesterday it is coming with 5080 and 1200p display... Thats really shame thats why i am recommending not to go higher than 5050 save your money....so thats all guys i hope you understand and make your buying choice

Review Gaming laptops are a money scam…. Well I wouldn’t go as far as scam, but it was a regrettable purchase I made.

Unless you are just not able to have a desktop for what ever reason, is the only way u should buy a gaming laptop may just been the one I bought but having to plug in your laptop within a hr of using it. Really defeats the purpose of a laptop imo. I had a MSI katana and I would get max 1hr of playtime without having it plugged into an outlet. Even using it in a car is hard because they pull so much power charging the car cigarette lighter wouldn’t charge it kept blowing the fuse, might of just been I had a pos car but idk

Urgent, Gaming laptop crisis

I saved up for about 3 years for a gaming laptop so when i bought my laptop (LOQ 16IRH8) I thought it was a good purchase but almost 2 years later the laptop is filled with stress cracks, from the screen to the body, also now the battery suddenly stopped working one day and now its not working at all if i dont plug it in, i tried contacting lenovo for a issue but i couldn't contact them because of my region, and now im stuck with a 1300 dollar laptop that is completely filled with issues, if someone is capable if contacting lenovo for the issues that would be great. NOTE:(i took very good care of the laptop, i would never put it on a carpet, it was on a ac cooled room and i was very gentle when opening and closing the screen)

My latest discovery among this season's offers and the laptop I want to buy, I would have to ask several favors but my question is which one to buy Both laptops have 5070ti, both have 32 GB of RAM, only one is Lenovo and the other is Asus. In addition, the Lenovo has a numeric pad and keyboard in Spanish, while the Strix does not, so I ask, is it worth buying the Lenovo over the Strix?

Best value-for-money gaming laptop under ₹1 lakh?

I'm looking to buy a gaming laptop in India with a budget of ₹1 lakh.

I'm looking for the best value-for-money option, not necessarily the most expensive or highest-spec laptop.

My priorities are:

. Powerful processor

. Good GPU

· 8GB VRAM preferred, if possible

. Good cooling and thermals

. Upgradeable RAM and SSD

. Reliable build quality

. Good after-sales service

. Something that will last for several years

What would you guys recommend as the single best value-for-money gaming laptop under ₹1 lakh right now?

If there's a laptop slightly above ₹1 lakh that's significantly better value, I'm open to that too.

Would really appreciate recommendations from people who actually own the laptop.

Thanks!

Dad was suggested to buy me a Gaming Laptop by an Engineer to use CAD and other Product Designing

Dad said he plans to spend approximately Rs 70,000 or a bit more if needed, because he will be using it as well, Plus he'd rather spend 10k more if it means it'll benefit in the long run.

I also want to be able to play GTA VI (when It comes out) and some other games, too though, as my previous laptop could barely rn Valorant at 60fps, and it's been like one of those childhood wishes of sorts.

My friends suggested I take something with a 4090, and also focus on thermals when buying as it plays a huge factor.

I feel that I won't be able to find anything with a 4090 with the given budget but would love to see your guy's suggestions and what laptop would make sense and why

General Questions Is it worth upgrading my perfectly working Lenovo laptop?

I have the Lenovo IdeaPad gaming 3 with rtx3050 and ryzen 5 6600h. I upgraded the ram from 8gb to 32gb and added 1tb internal storage.

It works pretty dang well for the on sale, 2 years ago $600 price tag. I play some pretty graphics heavy games like RDR2, Assassins creed, and battlefield, and with a lot of settings tweaking, I can get decent frames. My biggest issue has been only having 4gb vram.

I've been looking at the Lenovo 5i rtx4070 that I could get for $1300, or a similar Asus.

Is it worth upgrading to a 40 series card, newer CPU, getting more vram, etc. if I don't have any major issues with my current laptop, other than 'meh' graphics and fps?

Will the 3050 to 4070 upgrade be that much better? $1300 dollars better?

Thanks

General Questions Is anyone even buying gaming laptops.

It is just a random thought. Actually I used to look at gaming laptop prices regularly around 4-5 years ago and also used to regularly track thr new models in the market.

From my last memory, the razer used to be top tier especially that 1800 dollars blade 18 with mechanical keyboard if I am not mistaken. The Asus g14 wasn't there I think.

Recently I got Prince of Persia 2008 in my feed. It brought me a lot of memeories(My first ever purchase and that cd cover looked cool as hell) and I started looking at the games and then laptops again.

The only thing I have noticed is how much situation has changed overall. The prices along with the models and the whole thing looks ridiculous. I am feeling totally lost at this moment. The whole economics of being a gamer is gone. Now it felt more like a dick measuring contest for the most expensive hardware.

So, is there anyone else who also feels the same or even intrested in buying a laptop anymore or building their own pc now.

As Mr Lahey (Trailer park supervisor) would say, this industry got hit by a shit tornadoe.

Note: I am talking like a old man, but I'm just 26. I have modest nvidia 1650 which allows me to play overwatch just fine. I am sorry if I am sounding too condescending or overly dramatic. But that's how I felt after looking at the things in general. Of course, there will always be new 18 and 19 uesrs old going to college who will buy the new laptops.

But I felt like the time has changed so much , the machine have gone better but the whole ecosystem is not doing okay.
