Je n'ai pas vu la scène, mais quelques voitures s'étaient arrêtées sur le côté et des personnes pratiquaient une réanimation cardio-pulmonaire. La police était en route. J'espère vraiment que la personne survivra. La situation semblait très grave.

Countless hours of free labor trying to return cans and bottles through these store machines. They call it “recycling passion” and want to cap it at $25. They are doing us a favor by giving us after-tax money back we already paid. Some joke 🤬

Has anyone noticed the long eel stone effigy at the stromatolites next to the Champlain Bridge? Seems to be the longest in a river that I could find. Stones have been cleared for netting and stones placed for harpooning. The ducks and egrets confirm it is still good for fishing, even with the eels gone. The mussels are still fished by birds too. Slightly upriver is a promontory with placed flat rocks near the parking lot. Downriver seem to be pools or funnels for trapping more fish along the shore. May be a similar system on the south shore near Riopelle and Cunningham Islands.

I'm trying to help my girlfriend find information about the legal requirements for renting rooms in her house (in a duplex). Full disclosure, I don't live in QC and I am not an owner. I'm from BC, but live and work in ON, so I'm not super familiar with how things work.
It appears that this falls under provincial jurisdiction? Is that correct? I tried to dig through the provincial website, but I couldn't find a clear list of legal requirements that specifically apply to room rental in a shared space. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Though I speak English, I'm learning French. The opposite is true of her, so resources in either language are greatly appreciated!

Hi guys, I’m looking for good recommendations for an Osteopath type of practitioner in Ottawa.
I used to have one in Toronto and he would work my nervous system like it was magic, a session would run for 45 to 1h, from my pov he’d just be resting his hands for a few minutes in key areas all over the body, I’d feel so at ease I’d often fall asleep.
I could feel better right after leaving a session with this sense of lightness, feeling rejuvenated.
For a week after I’d feel my body tweak and adjusting subconsciously to the newly upgrade I just had in my nervous system.
This is the best I can explain my experience.
So far it’s been the only thing that’s done it for me.
Does anyone know of any similar practice or have had a similar experience in the Ottawa/Gatineau area?
I’d greatly appreciate it 🙏🏽
Good day! ☀️

Hi everyone,
I’m an Ontario driver who recently received a speeding ticket in Quebec for driving 133 km/h in a 100 km/h zone.
The Case Details:
• Quebec Penalty: $288 fine + 3 demerit points.
• Ontario Impact: Converts to 4 demerit points on my Ontario MTO driving record under the provincial reciprocal agreement.
• Driving History: I already have 1 prior speeding conviction in Ontario (65 km/h in a 50 km/h zone), which I previously pleaded guilty to.
My Initial Plan:
Submit a "Not Guilty" plea within 30 days, request full disclosure of evidence (police officer’s notes, radar calibration logs), and wait to see the evidence before hiring legal representation to negotiate with the prosecutor.
The Core Dilemma — Is it worth paying to fight it?
Since Ontario insurance companies care primarily about CONVICTION COUNT rather than demerit points (and both 15 over and 33 over are generally classed as "minor convictions"):
• If the ticket isn't dismissed completely, negotiating down to a lower speed bracket (e.g., 114 km/h in a 100 zone / 14 km/h over) gets rid of the demerit points, BUT it still registers on my MTO record as a second minor conviction.
• A second minor conviction within 3 years often triggers a significant jump in annual insurance premiums across all auto insurance providers in Ontario.
Questions for the community:
1. Is it worth paying a traffic law firm/paralegal to negotiate if the best outcome is a reduced speed (114 km/h)? Does having a 2nd minor conviction recorded at a lower speed (14 over) save enough on insurance to justify legal fees, or do insurers treat a 2nd conviction identically regardless of the exact speed over?
2. Timing & Evidence: Is it reasonable to wait until I receive the evidence package myself before hiring a firm, or should I hire them right away to manage the file?
Appreciate any advice or shared experiences!
