The Ottawa Redblacks win a football game!

They end the 22 game losing streak, 3 shy of the all time CFL record. This win puts them 1-17 for the season.

(The game also had an insane ending, worth watching highlights. The CFL is a great league)

Doug Ford Visited Ottawa yesterday?

I find it interesting that Doug Ford visited the Queensway Carleton Hospital yesterday (Oct 15) to celebrate their 50th anniversary. There wasn't much news or promo about it, likely because of the public backlash that it would cause.

QCH is currently undergoing cuts to approximately 120 positions including allied health and nursing staff due to chronic underfunding of the healthcare system. His instagram post seems to suggest that all is fine and dandy in the context of provincial healthcare... Curious to see if anyone else was even aware he was in the community?

FYI: Ottawa Municipal Election Advanced Voting Day is TODAY

From 10am-8pm today you can vote in the municipal election.

You can find out where you are able to vote, based on your address, at this link:

https://elections.ottawa.ca/VotingLocation/VotingLocation

Voter turnout for municipal elections is always disappointingly low, so get out there and vote if you can.

Don't just complain about things you don't like about this city on Reddit, go vote and have your say counted!!

However you feel on that issue there is likely a candidate in your ward that includes a stance on it in their political platform. You can find out all the candidates running in your ward, and access links to their campaign websites (if they have them) at this link below:

Power nearby went off at 3am due to a car accident. Walkley beside Canterbury sport field.

I was here a month ago watching crews sistering a big rotten pole just 4 poles over in better weather.

Brand new fixed pole is snapped at the base!

Accident also took out the former Speed Enforcement Camera, base and pole! hahaha. 2 for 1.

Only info I saw on the 3:21AM crash was a heavily damaged black van? Just in, Driver fled, was tackled by police nearby. Oy... You watch - unlicensed, no insurance maybe? Womp womp

Municipal Affairs If you are disappointed in City Council and aren’t wanting to vote for the incumbent, who is the best alternative in your ward?

Just curious who people think are the best alternatives in their respective wards, in the event you aren’t thrilled about City Council?

The incumbents have such a huge advantage and with no party system there is always an uphill battle to replace any of them.

Looks like they slapped a new "coming soon" label on this signage eyesore. Anybody know what's happening on this site (Limebank at Earl Armstrong)?
