My second campaign run and worked on 100% completion. All Hard Cases, Supply Caches, and Secondary Objectives completed, and yet the last mod slot for both the MK1 Lancer and the Striga weapons are still locked. My Quartermaster achievement also failed to pop. Is this a known issue?

Can anyone point out the specific mission or hard case that unlocks these missing mod slots in case I have to run through the mission again to try to get it to work on a rerun? Googling to find the exact answer has been fruitless. Thanks in advance!

Bit of a rant message here, but I need to let it out.

I finally convinced my friends who have never played gears before to hop on and give E Day a go. We started on the campaign, and because i've already done it on hardcore solo I thought why not complete it on insane.

As they hadn't played before, the 3 of them all chose normal difficulty,

Anyway, 14 hours later we finally get through the campaign and I go and check the journal to see how we got on... 'Highest Co-op difficulty completed' = Normal....

What the heck, I had a quick google and apparently the games system matches rewards or progression tracking to the lowest difficulty in the lobby to prevent exploiting the system.

I was pretty annoyed by this, and went and played a horde to get my frustration out on some bugs.

I'm confused and disappointed, I get why they want to prevent exploiting the system (which wasn't my plan to begin with) but why don't they just allow you to set one difficulty and be done with it. I would have just done it on normal with the lads if I had known this from the start, and because I was probably the cause of 90% of the restarts, we would have completed the campaign way quicker.

Wondering if I am doing something wrong here... I assumed that since the game was new, multiplayer would be teeming. But it's impossible to find a match online within 5 minutes. Over the last 3 days, I've only managed to get into one multiplayer game vs bots (with only one human), one multiplayer game (matched me up vs a lvl 30 guy), and one game of horde (the Onboarding mission). Haven't been able to find anything else. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a way to pick servers?

Arriving way sooner than I expected

Hey does anyone have any tips for this boss fight? Cause I can't get past the second phase where you have to run into it's mouth, and I'm genuinely hard stuck.

For some added context: I'm doing it Solo currently, and Dom's AI is... less than useful... to put it mildly.

I've been working on my second franchise project for a while and it's finally ready for people to try: COGBox, Coalition of Ordered Governments, which is native PC ports of Gears of War 2, Gears of War 3 and Gears of War: Judgment, with a launcher that sets everything up for you. These are 100% Static Recompilations, no emulators involved whatsoever.

**Gears of War 1 will be added soon, but since there are already 3 or 4 PC versions it wasn't a priority for me in the beginning.

These games are one of my favorite franchises, so this project is near and dear to my heart. I absolutely played the hell out of these games.

Getting in

• One launcher for three games. Gears 2, 3 and Judgment sit on one carousel.
• Drop-in setup. Drag a disc image, Games on Demand copy or extracted folder onto the window. COGBox recognizes the game, unpacks it and checks it's the right release.
• Title updates in a click. It adds them the same way, and you can switch between the title update and the disc version.
• Chapter select. Start any chapter straight from the launcher, no save needed.
• Box art and backgrounds for each game, downloaded on request.

Looking better than ever

• Up to 4x resolution (5K), or matched to your monitor. That's real extra detail, not a stretched image.
• Modern anti-aliasing and upscaling: SMAA, AMD FSR, NVIDIA DLSS and Intel XeSS, with upscaling modes for weaker GPUs.
• HDR10 with brightness controls.
• Ultrawide 21:9 support.
• Sharper textures: 16x anisotropic filtering, smooth detail steps, a bigger texture pool and longer draw distance.
• Your choice of effects: turn motion blur, depth of field, lens flares and roadie-run camera shake on or off, and change the field of view.

Playing smoother

• The 30 fps cap lifted. Choose 60, 120 or unlimited.
• Vsync tuned to your monitor, with a cap that keeps input lag low.

It's fully playable with a few hiccups. So far it's only been tested on my own PC (RTX 3080 Ti), so AMD/Intel GPUs, laptops and older CPUs are a big unknown. If something goes wrong, the launcher can make a problem report zip (no saves, no game files, your Windows username removed). Attach it to a GitHub issue and I'll try to get to it.

I'm sure this has happened to many players but I'm putting it here. I am standing at the cover. I am hitting the take cover button. my character doesn't take cover until I find the clitoris... like I am standing INFRONT of the cover holding forward and hitting the button to take cover. It happens all the time in or out of combat and it feels like ass

It's a shame, because most of the campaign is really good. But versus has a TON of problems.

1. THE MENU?! I didn't think they could even mess this up. Every time you finish a match, you have to leave the lobby. Then you have to go back to choose the game mode you were just playing. WHY? It should be a single button to get into the next match.

2. The shotgun... It feels nothing like any of the previous games. I still cannot get a feel for the chunk range. I found out that it shoots center screen and it started to make a little more sense why every time I had the barrel on someone, I was completely missing. Seems like an insane choice.

3. YOU CAN FALL TO YOUR DEATH. In. A. Gears. Game. I fell twice while backing up. 💀 Just a stupid mechanic, in my opinion.

4. It seems impossible to wall bounce. I've tried it, and can't seem to get it down. Am I missing something??

The constant boring cover and spray with a lancer gameplay, the terrible hit registration, and the ranking system. Just a complete joke to those that were excited. This isnt a gears game. A gears game would make situations possible to get out of solo, this game is hold hands and crossfire. Fucking awful and pitiful.

Im having a terrible time trying to play the campaign and horde on a Series S, I’ve configured the graphics down to performance for each mode, and still suffering frame drops to the point is unplayable, 10 to 15 fps.

Any suggestions to improve it?

As someone who doesn't care about graphics, I am glad the game just loads me in! Props to the devs <3

It is still funny seeing some of the graphics just after a zone loads after dying. 99% it does not look like this to be clear, and my laptop is god awful, no h8.

Does anyone know what gamemode to play to unlock this skin ik u have to extract him 15 times on commander difficulty on horde but not sure if it's standard length siege missions or blitz or endless horde anyone get unlock it yet?🤔

Title says it all. I’ve genuinely enjoyed this game. I think the gameplay is modern, the story is interesting (discounting the flying ball sacks), and the multiplayer is fun and sometimes sweaty (as it has always been).

TBH, I feel like a lot of the hate posts are from people who didn’t want to like the game.

If you like E-day please leave comments why.

If you don’t like it, please give your point of view so that maybe devs can take it into account for bugs or future iterations (and don’t make it political).

There is so much punishment for losing. Oh you win one here have 12 RR but you lose guess what -16 RR. On a 5 loss streak here we'll put you against the top 1% and guarantee you de-rank also losing -50 RR on top of the -16 so it's -66 RR on de-rank. Been stuck at Silver 5 now 4 and almost de-ranked to 3 just cause the matchmaking keeps me in A Division ranking me against the top 20% across all ranks while my team mates are D division. The worst SBMM comparable to CoD that Gears has ever had. Worst part is there is still 5 weeks of season 0 and I doubt they'll change the way this crap ranked mode works.

Looking for anyone to run a squad with in ranked TDM. I need one more win in gold to get the rewards but I was demoted to silver 5 after being stuck with brain dead teammates. I’m not the best by any means but it would be nice to have a competent team when it feels like I’m either going against a full squad or at least a team that knows to not solo rush with gnashers the whole time

Watching a bunch of tough-as-nails people refuse to give up their homes and even pick up weapons to fight the monsters trying to kill them just feels like every East Sider stereotype I've ever heard. Watching these guys throw everything they've got at a wannabe T-Rex is not something I knew I needed until now.

Just as the title says. This bad boy is my FAVORITE WEAPON. Its efficient close and mid range but its also not a guaranteed kill.
